You can tell they aren't from the west coast.real roof sheathers cut on the roof and save more time than having a ground guy. neat little tool you got there but not really necessary. I can chalk line faster w/o it and don't have problems with the line slipping.
@kjlarosh just Go to the site when the ad pop's up, we are trying to get them in store's but is hard to compete with Big companies like Stanley and Erwin, most stored want you to have more than 1 product, all our customer's are happy , spread the word!!
A real tradies tool invented by the mother of all inventions "necessity". It's perfect for the person who is working on his own. I love it and would use it.
nice little tool, good if you are cutting lots. fuck having it in your apron all day though. im amazed you guys in the usa are using chipboard (osb) what do you clad it with? that stuff is fucking horrible
@otumoetaipat 8 penny nails or staples. What do you use instead of osb? BTW my tool belt consists of a hammer, measuring tape, pencil, knife, chalkline, speed square and nails (8 penny, 12 penny). Plenty of room for what looks like a plastic tool less than the size of a speed square, not to mention that it's capable of being clamped your belt anyways.
Very cool I just bought one, now only if you offer one that will clamp onto a 2x4 or 2x6 for laying out measurements before cutting I would buy it also.
@dougspair I don't recommend it for every one, The wind blows so much that when I do wear glass's the saw dust gets between my glass's and eyes and i am almost guaranteed splinters in my eyes and when I use the ones with side covers I sweat (cause I work so hard )lol kids don't do this at home
You should have made your video in Spanish. The rest of us who have educations, already know. Bless you brother, and I hope it is better for all of us.
Wow, saves time and more accurate. Nicely done!! I def could have used the Vline in the past and the future. I actually have a new tool im working on myself....was wondering if you had any good references regarding manufacturing etc?
I'm only 17 and I work in carpentry I'm in school at Tolles in Ohio it's called Tolles caree tech center i'm only in 11th grade working in carpentry and I would love to have one of those ..We put are trusses up and about to statr sheeting it out on Monday.I love carpentry actually we only have chalk line.
I would buy it for my unexperienced guys because I get tired of watching them fiddle around, so thumbs up for that. But I only carry a tape hammer, pencil, stanley knife and square in my bag for over 25 years and my best guys wouldn't bother.
VERY inovative and well thought out invention! I commend you and recommend it! I work alone and that tool needs a new home! I would have to name it too!
@vlineguy I thank you for this tool i've gone through 3 so far, and i bought one of my friends for his job. We both like it very much. Only reason i've gone threw 3 is because i'm a welder and i have melted a few. You should think of making one just for welders that can resist a bit of heat, went U have huge pieces of sheet metal to mark cuts or weld points i just put tape where i don't need marks and snap rather than struggling or have someone help me measure up this tool is amazing
I framed houses for 8 years and now do concrete carpentry building bridges. This tool is awesome and I plan on buying one. Great job and idea. Of course you will have a bunch of haters up here saying do it this way or my way is better. When it comes to this kind of work whatever works best and fastest for you is the best. Also using a straight edge is difficult if the the angle is very steep like a 75 degree cut for a gable on a low pitch roof. You would need a 8 ft strait edge almost.
@TheNoteGhost seriously? I don't know 1 carpenter that uses the Quick spike , & u fumble in your nail bags to get to it! the q spike spears your line and doesn't hold your tape measure, I use it to show the difference and not 1 carpenter( cept u) liked it,people from all over the world like the v-line once they use it, Buyaparcel has a vid of it and cut on the important part, my tool is well thought out, line friendly, and handy, no fumbling cause it clamps outside your bags, no competition!!!
I am a framer and I have thought about something like this for a long time! What I always have used is the nail trick like you showed but I make sure when i hit nail in I point it str8 at the mark I am snapping to and I wrap the string around the nail a few times till it holds so it snaps all the way and is straight. Needless to say this takes alot more time then the V-Line! Nice invention, BUT I am inventing the Lazer Line that cuts the plywood when you snap it! Only lose a finger or 2 a Year!
I have the vclip on my pouch when im sheathing the roof. its a great addition to calking lines. i highly recommend this for any one doing this type of work.
Pretty cool tool, but unless its a peak cut or something else, I tend to just cut a 5 ft. 1x4 to use as a tracer, mark my lines, and boom draw a line and cut. Well done though! :) Apprentice Carpenter here :D
@leemajlawkahc Ive been framing for almost 30 years, I have done it that way and your cutting the line when you do that each time, and next thing you know you have a truck full of chalk lines with no clips on the end,
but that said instead of buying post it's why not just rip a piece of paper put tape on it and stick it to the wall? same concept, faster & easier, V-Lines are line friendly , and hold your tape measure!!Tons of happy customer's from all over the world!!!
@leemajlawkahc All of u still wasting time, using a chalk line to cut sheathing for roof, and tape to measure the difference for next angle? Chalk lines are for snapping out a deck "walls" . Hook, snap, reel in? ever try straight edge n pencil? save the pattern only need one # .Then use same straight edge under sheet not to fuck up the next. throw my apprentices line out t window or anyone for matter. no need for chalk on roof sheathing, money lost
That's a great invention. You can tell its great because its simple. try snapping a line with an idiot or by yourself without a v-line. usually comes off, or the idiot moves it!!! handy.
i also see there's one person in the world WITHOUT common sense... try to get it out to home depot, and since its yours, you can even try to contact some smaller roofing/construction wholesalers, this is something that people will want... your job is just to let them know that its available. Good luck. you should be able to retire with this, once the public becomes aware of it. all the best success. +++Don
@kylewanamakersmith thanks if anyone knows how I can get in and don't want 51 percent of my company , just wants to put it in their store's, contact me!!
I always have someone with me when im working so normally we just use a level or a straight edge with a pencil haha but this is acutally a very neat tool and would acutally be perfect for days when your by yourself or your partners are too busy to help, do you have this on the market yet?
@BapestaB right now you can only get then on our site , the address pop's up on the Video, and don't forget the tape measure function!! better than driving a nail and folding the line over and using inferior clamp's which makes it inaccurate and tends to come off when your on the other end pulling on it!!carpenter's all over the world are ordering them and finding them very useful, some comments are from UK and Canada,
I was going to say why not use a straight edge? but watching the video there is more to this simple tool than meets the eye.
Using a straight edge requires two guys also when you look around on site for a straight edge there is none ...lol... or they aint that straight and you use them anyway .
Very useful bit of kit simple and small to carry. I think it would be brilliant on a roof for using the string to measure " one off lengths" such a cripple rafter etc. I want one!!!
@vallonia See you really get it, thanks , People say why do you have to be so accurate, but my answer is why not?? I mean when you get a measurement from someone for twelve and a quarter why doe's he give it to you?? why not 12 or thirteen?? but on hip's and Valley's you only have 3/4 to break on, !! thank !!Oh and we just won the international gold award at Inpex for the best construction tool just last week!!
@vlineguy Yes you are right Vlineguy if you have to measure to cut .It should be the correct measurement not " near enough" I think your invention will come into it's own in my shop for measuring off sheet materials when working alone. I am working away from home right now we call that working " Out of town " I will order mine as soon as I get back home.Congratulations on your Inpex Gold Award thats quite an achievement!!! But then the simple idea's always work the best. Good Luck guys.

@fishjnky I guess I better refund the 500 unreal construction workers in California , Washington and Oregon's money
that bought v-lines and sent me emails on how much they like them!
I personally build custom homes with pitch's steeper than 6/12 and tons of angle's and hate walking on sawdust on the roof .
