Its derived from Inuit throat singing. I saw it as a really interesting form of fusion between different cultures, and their use of the voice as an instrument.

Rahzel owns in this video, by the way!! I can't even begin to think of how to do that. Very impressive!

The first time I watched this version of Who Is It, I couldn't stand it.

I watched again a few months later & still hated it.

I don't like the throat singing so much, but I can see how she's adding to the joy on the stage. It's interesting listening to this so simply, after listening to the original which has so much more with the choir and everything. Such an amazing song; I would give anything to see Bjork live.

yeah about the throat singer:

the medulla tour was about being calm, and about looking inside of yourself to find who you really are, and i think thats why bjork didn't do as much of the things she usually does...

and the throat singer really takes the focus off bjork because she was being volta over there as opposed to everyone being medulla over here
