Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween 2 are in his OWN Halloween Franchise! Not John Carpenter's! So it's not like Michael Myers came back after Resurrection! It's the Rob Zombie Franchise not the John Carpenter one! He's just putting his own thoughts, ideas and imagination on film!
The Devil's Rejects (Disturbing but a great film!)
Halloween 2007 (It's not too bad because it's his unique vision of what Halloween Terror really is!) Plus his version of Halloween also has that Halloween feeling to it just like John Carpenter's Original! But Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was just AWFUL!!!!! The only thing I liked in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was the creepy White Horse!
I have mixed feelings about this and it's sequel. I thought House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were both really great movies but i didn't think he needed to remake Halloween because i thought the original was perfect. I mean when he was asked if he would like to remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre he said no way, so it kind of felt like he sold out to me when he agreed to remake Halloween. I don't think they are terrible remakes just kind of unnecessary is all. If it ain't broke, you know.
Same goes for Psycho right? that also didn't needed to be remade since the original was timeless perfection that is still loved by all ages. Besides kids already know Halloween already since they dress up as Michael every Halloween and they play alot on cable and they even rent his movies. Only remake something that was wrong with it in the first place (i.e. The Thing, The Fly) and not perfect horror movies, but this was better than Psycho (98) since it added something fresh and new
@Johnlindsey289 Well the Psycho remake was completely and utterly pointless as it was nothing more than a frame by frame carbon copy of the classic original and truly offered nothing new or original to the story at all. At least Zombie made a bit of an effort to make his movie slightly different from the original by giving a much bigger backstory for Micheal Myers and turning him into a big, deranged serial killer instead of the unstoppable supernatural force of evil that he was in the original.
I thought this was an enjoyable if not necessary remake of a horror classic but i do respect that Rob Zombie loves the original first 2 movies and respects the material as he hated the rest of the Halloween movies. It had an interesting background on the character and a nice character study of a serial killer like Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer did.
@wwfwowner Well they really ruined the iconic scary look of myers and made him look like a hobo, they made loomis seem like a complete jerk and the entire movie made me feel like i was in a gritty dirty screamo concert. I enjoyed robs Halloween but not his halloween 2.

I'm not. I love this movie. At the end of my comment, I said that this was the scariest slasher film ever made. I love the rescent horror remakes. The only thing about the previously mentioned horror franchises is the sequels. They are unecessary and rediculous. The only two that need sequels is Freddy and Jason, and even those went down hill. Aside from Halloween 2 (1981?), Halloween didn't need a sequel. Zombie's version is incredible, as well as it's sequel. The new Freddy wasn't bad either.

This movie is very misunderstood. This is one of the few good modern remakes. Zombie simply made it his own. The problem with other re-dos is they don't do anything to try and make it different, or change anything the way they said they would. Halloween was spotless as it was, but I didn't mind viewing Zombie's vision. I could of did without some of the lame dialogue, but his first Halloween was good. I can't say much for H2 Halloween 2[2009] though His first Halloween gets a 7 out of 10 for me

Damn straight. Halloween 1978 was my first slasher flick, and my favourite so far. I've seen it 4 times, and I was delighted when I heard about Zombie's remake. I ended up seeing it 5 times because I thought it was one of the best remakes I've ever seen.

One thing I gotta say about this movie..it is probebly one of the most bloodiest and decent horror remakes I've seen for a long time. Personally, I thought rob zombie's flick The Devil's Rejects was good. On the other hand, this movie had some bad acting. Sheri Moon can't act worth a shit! Deag Fearch...I have no idea where they got him for this role. Anyway, he's a terrible actor and I can't believe he made it in the movie Hancock. But it was ok.....?

Question: Why does Rob Zombie have a hard on for showing women getting sexually brutalized on camera? It's really sick and the reason I turned this movie off and chalked it up to a shitty remake.
Don't bother remaking the classics people you are not as talented nor visionary as the original directors. Stick to making shitty death metal.
Because getting sexually brutalized is a realistic fear to women. And not all remakes live up to originals, but Dracula was better than Nosferatu, King Kong remakes are usually better, not to mention Godzilla. Frankly I thought this one was better in some ways, but not i others, but that's just me.
Question:Why are you criticizing the talent of others if you haven't gone out and done better yourself? And he doesn't get a hard-on by watching women get sexually abused in movies. There are sex scenes in this but not sexual brutalizing. Watch House Of A Thousand Corpses or The Devil's Rejects and tell me where girls get sexually brutalized in that film. It's just an all out fucking gore fest. And his music doesn't suck so why don't you go listen to your Jonas Brothers!

I agree webuser. Rob Zombie had NO idea what the hell he was doing. The movie was terribly put together and offered no suspense, not to mention that chase scene at the end which seemed to go on for hours. All he did was up the body count and add gore and swearing, AND THAT DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD HORROR MOVIE.

I love how Zombie took an old master of a movie in his own hands, he did such a wonderful job a lot of people did not like it, but if you had seen an interview with him a few years before the movie was made, you would know that Zombie was going to show you more of Myers being a kid, this movie was amazing, Zombie is the new king of horror, his mind blows me away.

In Rob zombies movie..he isnt a cursed soul in need to kill his family members ( like in John Carpenters), but is a spiteful human who lacks social skills. You know I don't get what's the trend in some of this newer movies, I mean this was such a classic series so why not just add another subtitle like Halloween (insert number here) I mean by calling it by it's original name indicates that it is better than the original or is better. Which in most cases it's not. Seeing as I haven't seen this one yet I await my assumption.

I didn't like this tv spot because it was basically a shortened recycled version of the Theatrical Trailer and the Teaser Trailer. Nothing really special. Like the first My Bloody Valentine tv spot.

Question: Why does Rob Zombie have a hard on for showing women getting sexually brutalized on camera? It's really sick and the reason I turned this movie off and chalked it up to a shitty remake.
Don't bother remaking the classics people you are not as talented nor visionary as the original directors. Stick to making shitty death metal.

Because getting sexually brutalized is a realistic fear to women. And not all remakes live up to originals, but Dracula was better than Nosferatu, King Kong remakes are usually better, not to mention Godzilla. Frankly I thought this one was better in some ways, but not i others, but that's just me.

Question:Why are you criticizing the talent of others if you haven't gone out and done better yourself? And he doesn't get a hard-on by watching women get sexually abused in movies. There are sex scenes in this but not sexual brutalizing. Watch House Of A Thousand Corpses or The Devil's Rejects and tell me where girls get sexually brutalized in that film. It's just an all out fucking gore fest. And his music doesn't suck so why don't you go listen to your Jonas Brothers!

when this t.v. spot first aired i had high hopes, and was beliving all the hype surrounding the movie, and thought that for once a movie might actually scare me,, IT SUCKED ASS!!!! it was a total knock off of john carpenters, now i know he was going to do similar things as the original but he just pretty much fucked halloween up and made it a gory fuck this fuck that porno knock off,,,didnt mind the naked scenes though,lol

Amen brother ! The script writing the progression of the story it was all SHIT. I take Zombie wrote script judging by the irrelevant profanity. His wife was is in it... oh what a suprise. She is a good actor and very sexy ! but sometimes certain people dont suit certain roles !
Im suprised Michael didnt take off his mask and be like " Mother fuckers I am Michael mother fucking Myers you punk ass fucking Haddonfield bitches" that would have really gave it that Zombie touch.

I agree webuser. Rob Zombie had NO idea what the hell he was doing. The movie was terribly put together and offered no suspense, not to mention that chase scene at the end which seemed to go on for hours. All he did was up the body count and add gore and swearing, AND THAT DOES NOT MAKE A GOOD HORROR MOVIE.

I love how Zombie took an old master of a movie in his own hands, he did such a wonderful job a lot of people did not like it, but if you had seen an interview with him a few years before the movie was made, you would know that Zombie was going to show you more of Myers being a kid, this movie was amazing, Zombie is the new king of horror, his mind blows me away.

I dont mean to offend anyones views..but how i see this new interpretation of Michael myers..is well....awesome. In Rob zombies movie..he isnt a cursed soul in need to kill his family members ( like in John Carpenters), but is a spiteful human who lacks social skills. In this movie his motives seem more human rather than supernatural...that is if u can get over he is 6 foot something with huge muscles. i thought this new direction was needed cause the last few halloween sucked major D***

You know I don't get what's the trend in some of this newer movies, I mean this was such a classic series so why not just add another subtitle like Halloween (insert number here) I mean by calling it by it's original name indicates that it is better than the original or is better. Which in most cases it's not. Seeing as I haven't seen this one yet I await my assumption.
