Can anybody tell me what the black slide switch does inside of whelen sirens I have a 295Sl100 which are the newer models and I had a fuse drop inside my siren so I had to take the cover off and get the fuse out and I noticed a black slider switch is that what controlls 200/100 watts?

@BMS10296 no, but Whelen Engineering does have a unit that is just a public address system and the air horn (optional use). it is the Whelen PAP112. (available here: strobesnmore (dot) com/whelen-air-horn-plus-pa-sy­stem.html) and you need a 100 watt siren speaker as well. I recommend the Whelen SA314 (discontinued but still available on ebay) or the Federal Signal MS100 (a.k.a. "DYNAMAX"). hope this was helpful.

@baddmaddogg dude, i have to drive somewhere every morning. there is only one road to get there really. there's a lot of construction on it, so there's a cop directing traffic. we had a green light but he wasn't letting anybody go. i started hitting the airhorn and hitting manual on my siren and he let us all go as he was scanning all around for a fully marked real police car. it was hilarious. i did this to him every day for like two weeks until he just let the traffic light do its job. lol
