This man should be in the R&R HOF though it probably won't happen. At the very least the Grammy's or the Brit awards need to honour him with a lifetime achievement award for his great music and session work.Terry should not go to his grave without being recognize for his amazing contribution to music.
My ex tells me "There is a difference between stoner hippie music and real music ma'am." lol what a jack ass, I'm sorry but Sum 41 doesn't count as real music either especially if Terry Reid isn't.
@MrMickthemonster I agree, that being said most of the real music is from the 70's and earlier. Most of the 80 music, some of the 90's everything after that is pretty much crapola
its crazy that NOONE knew about terry reid until rob zombie dropped this track.. i rememeber being a little boy and my dad burning doobies to this shit back in early 90's..
This song is a hidden gem. Another great song by him on this same album is "Faith to Arise" Did you know that Jimmy Page asked this guy first to be the lead singer of Led Zeppelin....he turned it down because he wanted to play guitar and he reccommended Robert Plant.
Wow, you've posted all 8 of the songs on this album, how wonderful. Thank you so much. I've really enjoyed listening to this old favorite. I used to have this album back in the 70s, but lost it somewhere along the way.
If you have not seen "The Devils Rejects" but still know of the genius of Terry Reid, I applaud you. However i do recommend seeing this film as when this song comes in at the end it fits so perfectly!...Peace x
Graham Nash with the production credits (can also hear him on the backup vocals @3:20) and the late Ben Keith on pedal steel (who probably played the single most recognized pedal steel guitar part in history on Neil Young's 'Old Man')... I'm lovin' this song... such a fine example of everything that was great about music in the 70's.
I have to admit, I was only made aware of this great song because I sat thru The Devil's Rejects. The only good thing about Rob Zombie movies is the music. Agreed?

I don't know WHY so many hate the bridge of this song between 2:30 and 3:05. I agree that the key and tempo changes SHOULDN'T work, yet it DOES for me. THAT is the BRILLIANCE of Reid. I offer another of his songs, Dream, from the River recording. He does something similar on that bridge between the 3:00 and 4:00 marks and pulls THAT one off as well. THAT'S songwriting and singing Genius to my mind.
Had not heard of this guy until I read the history of Deep Purple. There, I learnt they wanted him to replace Rod Evans, their first vocalist, when they wanted to go for a heavier sound. He turned them dowm down, mainly due to prior contractural commitments. He had also turned down a recently formed group by the name of Led Zeppelin.
this song has gotten me through some of the worst moments in my life. if you're reading this, I hope it can do the same for you when nothing else keeps you safe at night. smiley face ;)
A man so cool, he turned down a chance to be a part of Led Zeppelin. I believe his exact words were 'No thanks. Ask Robert Plant instead. You see, I'm da boss."
Love this song but it would be so funny to click the dislike button. I don't get why people care about some asshole like me clicking dislike. Even if I was stupid enough to actually not appreciate the song, you might as well go out and get angry at some holocaust deniers or something
fuck yes no dislikes lets keep it that way. any fag who wants to press the dislike button - just type in the shitty stuff you want to listen to, crap videos arent hard to come by.

I too heard this on Devil's Rejects and it's one of the very few times I've actually sat through end credits, this song is just perfect and dare I say beautiful. JUSS FINISHED WATCHING THE DEVILS REJECTS, I FUKKING LOVE THAT MOVIE, I WOULDVE NEVER FOUND THIS FUKKING KICK ASS SONG IF IT WASNT FOR THE DEVILS REJECTS \m/
Imagine a Lion's gate horror movie about Sabretooth(Victor Creed). No Wolverine in site, just a seven foot -rasor clawed killer. Thanks Rob and Terry.
Excellent musician and song....I have not heard this in many many years to the point of forgetting about it since I was a kid in the early 70's.Thanks for posting this !
Little known fact......Jimmy Page wanted Terry Reid to be the lead singer for a group he was forming called The New Yardbirds, but Terry Reid was on tour at the time and couldn't do it, so Terry Reid introduced Jimmy Page to Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin was later formed. Basically, Led Zeppelin wouldn't exist if it weren't for Terry Reid.
If rob zombie never done Halloween in 2007, I should be at this age with a shirt of lady gaga. So I appreciate that you have created Halloween, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's rejected and Halloween II, because the music has shown me, by buying my first KISS album.
I'd also like to publicly thank Rob Zombie, of all people, for introducing me to this man's music... it's like.. where the FUCK have you been all my life?!
i never write anything about songs but this just really deserves a comment..... very beautiful song i too was rewinding the ending of Devils Rejects just to listen to it
Good music I too heard it on Devils rejects. To bad this guy wasn't bigger. There are far to many people who have never even heard of him. He almost has a neil young type sound in this song.
Greatest song ever written... until that weak-ass breakdown, but it rights itself soon enough.

@ThisGuyOwns Agreed. What the hell was he thinking with that lame breakdown? Rest of the tune is pretty badass, though.

@bringbackthe1960sppl I heard his manager turned it down for him. Something about a breach of contract or some shit like that. Management sucks.

Imagine a Lion's gate horror movie about Sabretooth(Victor Creed). No Wolverine in site, just a seven foot -rasor clawed killer. Thanks Rob and Terry.

Rob Zombie thank you for everything.

Good music I too heard it on Devils rejects. To bad this guy wasn't bigger. There are far to many people who have never even heard of him. He almost has a neil young type sound in this song.
