I would like to see how many people could step onto a stage and do what she did at this concert. She always gets criticized... and here I thought that Tarja had been the docile one! Long live Annette.

Anette is a true professional singer! No one ever talks about how she sings a song in English and bashes her for not pronouncing every word perfectly, I understand her! It's amazing to me, that she can sing in so many languages out of her own native language, that in itself is quite remarkable. She does a wonderful job! Cheers Anette!!
It was brave done. But she did screw up some of the pronounciation - but don't blame her, she is even from the southern of Sweden. Proud of her though. (:

The only thing I hate about this version is that she sings it like : "look! it's a pretty lenguage, it's a challenge, i'm a good singer, i sing in finnish" but she doesnt really understand the meaning of the lyrics and she definetely doesn't feel it in her heart...that's the only thing that bothers me. While I'm not her fan and preferred Tarja in Nightwish (I'm too weak against opera alike voices) I have to admit - she did quite well. Very well actually, but for me, she doesn't match how Tarja was singing it. Personal preference.
I like both singers but have been a little concerned about how some of the old songs have sounded live; this gives me new hope and enthusiasm for the new Nightwish!!!
Tarja is not the most here in Brazil many singers sing the same music and are in different voices and different styles and still look good because Anette excelled not fluent in Finnish and it was very good
Being a language geek, I know how different one language can be from another. The fact that Annette pulled this off and only mispronounced a couple words is awesome. I mean, really, she has a wonderful voice. Perhaps the wrong voice for this song, but a good voice nonetheless. I'm still biased in Tarja's favour. ^_^;;

Anette is singing a song in Finnish to honour the many Finnish guests who were there. I think it is perfectly OK that she does it even though her Finnish isn't perfect, it is the thought that counts. And her voice is so beautiful in this song.

The biggest flaw is that she does sing a wrong word in the beginning: She sings: Kirjoitan haaveeni nähdä sain
when the original line is: Kerran vain haaveeni nähdä sain. In soundcheck she sing it in the right way, so that must be a result of being nervous (somebody said in the official Nightwish discussion bord that she had said after the show that she had been really nervous about singing Kuolema tekee taiteilijan.)
She does pronounce very well, though there is a foreign accent, but I wouldn't count it as flaw.
She has said she doesn't speak any Finnish, so this is very good achievement from her.
Any Finnish person can understand this. I think she has learnt this song by listening to Tarja's version, so some details can actually recur from there. Tarja does pronounce some single letters a bit oddly in this song, and I think it has influenced Anette, too. Especially the t-letters are being pronounced
not a Finn here, but I could compare it to the original, she did a pretty lame job pronouncing it, dissapointing since she's Swedish, she should have at least tried to roll her Rs :P but the singing was tolerable.
Swedish and finnish are based on two different ways of 'singing' the words... There are more consonants in a finnish word than the word in swedish.... They also put letters together in a different way than swedes do... SO HOW is it dissapointing since she's swedish???
Finnish is fundamentally quite a different language than Swedish xD Pronunciation is the hardest part of learning any language, any native speaker will pick up a foreigner. I think she did a wonderful job just learning the words xD

It's not that hard to learn one finnish song by heart. I'm just a big Nightwish fan and I didn't have any problems remembering it.

Annettes is a lot brighter and a lot lighter toned than Tarja's and it just doesn't work when she sings the songs Tarja use to sing....

The biggest flaw is that she does sing a wrong word in the beginning: She sings: Kirjoitan haaveeni nähdä sain
when the original line is: Kerran vain haaveeni nähdä sain. In soundcheck she sing it in the right way, so that must be a result of being nervous (somebody said in the official Nightwish discussion bord that she had said after the show that she had been really nervous about singing Kuolema tekee taiteilijan.)

She does pronounce very well, though there is a foreign accent, but I wouldn't count it as flaw.
She has said she doesn't speak any Finnish, so this is very good achievement from her.
Any Finnish person can understand this. I think she has learnt this song by listening to Tarja's version, so some details can actually recur from there. Tarja does pronounce some single letters a bit oddly in this song, and I think it has influenced Anette, too. Especially the t-letters are being pronounced

Actually, in the Made in Hong Kong dvd she said that she understands finnish. But she can't speak 'cause she can't put the sentences together.

not a Finn here, but I could compare it to the original, she did a pretty lame job pronouncing it, dissapointing since she's Swedish, she should have at least tried to roll her Rs :P but the singing was tolerable.

Swedish and finnish are based on two different ways of 'singing' the words... There are more consonants in a finnish word than the word in swedish.... They also put letters together in a different way than swedes do... SO HOW is it dissapointing since she's swedish???

Finnish is fundamentally quite a different language than Swedish xD Pronunciation is the hardest part of learning any language, any native speaker will pick up a foreigner. I think she did a wonderful job just learning the words xD

Especially since I am one of those people... I like both of them... Some songs are for Tarja and shouldn't be sung by Anette, Whishmaster for example... But I really liked this version of the song...

Bad behaviour is always bad behaviour. You can go and comment other video's in Youtube, many videos from Suomi Safari. I am just not into any kind of wars between Tarja's and Anette's fans. Both are really great and nice persons and have their own style.
