Acctually that is not true. Thomas Hamilton went into a school in 1996 in Dunblane, Scotland and did a similar thing- he ended up killing 16 children all in the range of 5 to 6 yrs and one teacher.
"Forgiveness, I see it as the giving of love in advance of the assalt. It is the answer to handling all the onslaughts one may be confronted with in this world.
i dont know anithing about amish religion or amish people, but no one deserves to died like that . especially little kids. i hope they are right next to the lord amen>
The children only imagined what glory was, now they get to live it everyday by living and walking side by side with OUR lord and savior Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!
Its amazing how a Amish school shooting can turn into a debate about religion. There is one thing that is for certain. None of us will know until our day comes. Believe in what you believe whether it be in a higher power or nothing at all. Because one day...each one of us is destin to find out.
The Amish are the only group in America who live lives that work. Is there a God? I don't know. How come these people's lives work so well? Maybe there's something to it.
I was born Amish, however I did not choose to be baptized into the Amish church. my brothers and sister are Baptized and are members. Firts of all the Amish life is based on simplicity and family values but most of all the church growing up Amish young boys and girls learn there families trades. and at 7 years of age they are schooled till 8th grade. then they will work there family trade till their running around time. The Amish life is simple, Plain and rewarding
Well put my friend! I wasn't raised Amish but my mom and father were raised Mennonite. Neither of them joined the church either. However a large part of my family is either Amish or Mennonite.
Whether you are of a religion or no faith the key is tolerance, period.
godless? dude sometimes i wish there was a god... BUT THERE ISNT YOU HOE! I REALLY WANT TO DESTROY WORTHLESS SHITS LIKE YOU FROM THIS PLANET BEGIN TO THINK HOE! why dont you think logicly why? why must humans be so stupid???
look, you believe that "damn science book" for the same reason we believe in the Bible...faith. unless you have a ph.d. in science, you are taking someone elses word for everything in that book...believing in the Bible is no different...
There are a few problems with what you are saying. You are under the common misconception that a theory is a burgeoning scientific idea with little evidence, or may even be a guess that may one day "graduate" into a scientific law or proof. This is entirely untrue. Theory and Law are two different things. A theory never becomes a law, and a law never was a theory. Proof only has relevance in mathematics, it's not used in science. Theory is a well supported scientific explanation.
Furthermore, "god" or "faith" or anything supernatural is never accepted as science. If you invoke the supernatural, by definition, you aren't doing science. Science deals with naturalistic explanations, not supernatural ones. Saying, "god did it", is never a scientifically accepted hypothesis.
Let me give you the dictionary definition of the word Theory:
1. A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
2. The branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice: a fine musician who had never studied theory.
3. A set of theorems that constitute a systematic view of a branch of mathematics.
4. Abstract reasoning; speculation: a decision based on experience rather than theory.
5. A belief or principle that guides action or assists comprehension or judgment: staked out the house on the theory that criminals usually return to the scene of the crime.
6. An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.
The word Theory, by it's varied definitions alone seems to counter your argument, especially the second one.
There is absolutely no reason that religion cannot be accepted as a working theory as every recognized religion has a final tangible outcome in it. Christians believe in an Armageddon as outlined in the Book of Revelations, Jews the return of the Messiah, Islam domination. If any of these things come to fruition they will prove whatever religious theory stated that inevitable outcome.
What the dictionary says has absolutely nothing to do with what Scientific Theory means. Consult a science book and learn the definition of theory. The colloquial definition of theory and the Scientific definition of theory are two completely different things. The reason why religion is not theory is for the reasons I mentioned before. If you don't like that, you can read about what the courts decided in the Dover trial in 2005. They ruled that creationism is a religion and is NOT science.
2. The branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice.
Definition 2, once more. Key words "accepted principle, and methods of anlysis, as opposesd to practice."
You cannot debate that theology and spiritual beliefs can't be recognized as a working theory. There is enough proof that these things exist, there is also a projected eventual outcome. THAT IS A THEORY, scientific, colloqiual or otherwise.
You have to prove a theory before it become accepted fact. A scientist, mathemetician, sociologist, anthropologist can have a working theory with very little substantiated proof, it's up to them to prove the theory with work and examination.
Spiritual beliefs do exist, we have proof of this, what they represent, however, is only theory. Whether these theories will be proven through substantiated fact, eg. Armageddon, has yet to prove itself.
It's obvious you don't know anything about science or the scientific method. You don't prove theories because they are conclusions. It doesn't make sense to prove an explanation or a conclusion, which is what a theory is. You test hypothesis, and gather facts to support your claims. If all of the facts and evidence support your hypothesis, and the hypothesis hasn't been falsified, then you have a theory. And as I said before, proof is NOT a word used in science. It's a word used in mathematics.
Hypothesis and theory are synonyms and are interchangeable in science. Scientific theory is not etched in stone, it has to be proven. Einstein's theory of relativity is just that, the original theory that he came up with. That we eventually applied it in different applications and PROVED the theory does not change that what Einstein originally put forth was nothing more than his theory on what could be done. Matters of faith theorize an outcome as well, they just have yet to be proven.
Your first sentence shows that you do not know what you are talking about. In addition, you are ignoring everything I have said to you, and just regurgitating the same inane retorts over and over again. Read a science text book on the Scientific Method and stop commenting on things that you are clearly ignorant of.
I have an extensive scientific background in Biology but thank you for the recommendation, regardless. What you fail to realize is that every comment that you've made supports the possibility that religion could be classified as a theory.
There is more than enough empirical evidence, books, eyewitness testimony, complete lack of a known organic catalyst, to support that a cross section of occurrences and the beliefs that they encourage create a perfectly acceptable theory.
I urge anyone reading this thread to visit EnigmaHood's page in order to view his video "God is NOT a Theory" that he made in regards to this conversation. It's actually fascinating to watch how he had to change my original argument in his mind in order to support his argument.
I find it rather sad that a simple conversation online could wind someone up to the point that they call the person that they're conversing with an idiot, but I understand that the Internet is serious business to some.
You know, I didn't think you would see the vid actually. I didn't mention your name, and I was mostly trying to make a general point about the scientific method. I take back the idiot, and moron comments. However, I do feel you are ignorant of basic scientific principles.
And I think that you misunderstand basic scientific principle. When a theory is applied to something with a successful outcome it does not cease to be a theory or a hypothesis. That original thought that led to experimentation or application does not cease to exist, nor does it mutate into the final outcome.
Based on tangible tools, eg. the bible, people are currently working a theory that when the outcome these tools point to comes eg. Armageddon they have prepared themselves for it.
If I were to theorize that if I combine Sodium and Chloride I will get Salt, that is my theory, correct? That I go on and do the work to show the obvious, that Socium and Chloride combined do make salt, it doesn't change my original theory.
A spritual belief can be a working theory and the pay off doesn't have to be absolution, or heaven. Some may apply that theory for the simple fact that the outcome is thay are a better person by doing it.
Ahahahahaha! You didn't think that the other user would see your vid of you calling them names like a child so that makes it alright??? Then you couldn't even say sorry??? That's not a man you're seeing when you look in the mirror...a man doesn't act like that.
I agree with Catwoman. Enigma, even if you don't belive in God, why can't you just be tolerant and accept that WE belive in God? Why does everyone have to conform to your beleifs? What makes YOUR beleifs so much more valid than ours?
This is beautiful tribute. Thank you. To this Philadelphian the Amish were God's gift to Pennsylvania-I grew up admiring them and my heart hurt at the horrible news. God Bless those children killed or injured. God bless their families.
may god bless my fellow amish people. i was amish at one time. never was to nickel mine. i was born and raised in grabill in. as a amish member until 2005, my regrets!!!! how sad and what a helpless feeling they had!!!
i live very close to these people and i think Amish Country Pennsylvania is one of the most beautiful places on earth. the corn fields stretch to the horizon and sunset is accompanied by the sound of cows returning from the fields. And i have never seen the sky so blue as it is in this place. Unfortunately its being commercialized. Where there once was a beautiful family farm is now a WalMart Superstore and they are clearing fields to make a Shopping mall :(
There is NO reason to get defensive. I may NOT live in Nickel Mines but I DO live in Lancaster County. I also have many relatives that are Mennonite and Amish so it's not an educated response. In general they don't want their picture taken,if you know of specific ones that do that's fine. I am assuming you didn's shoot all of these yourself?
1. it is NOT disrespectful to show photos of amish people. in fact, most amish dont even care, its their bishops that care. you can take their picture all you want as long as their ok with it, so i do have every way of knowing this and respecting it....if it were true. and i dont think the bishops are on youtube
2. i live in nickel mines, one of my bosses daughters died, and the other one was shot in the head and arm.i was home that day and on the scene. so if anyone has any questions, talk to me, not just put what you believe in the comment box
3. I didnt put this video up for critiqueing, i put it up to remind people that this could happen anywhere, anytime, any place.
4. Please know what your talking about before you post something absurd. The healthcare cost WERE NOT ALL WAIVED BY THE HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS. C.H.O.P. WAIVED THE IMMEDIATE SURGERY COST BUT THE REST IS TO BE PAID, THE SAME GOES FOR HERSHEY MC, AND CHRISTIANA HOSPITAL. THE HELICOPTER COST WERE ALSO WAIVED
Again I apologize if I was misinformed. The papers were reporting it as ALL was covered. Either way President Bush has nothing to do with whether or not they receive medical care. That is what I was responding to.
It is not absurd. Maybe I got some part of the facts incorrect, but everything else is right about them setting up an account for other uninsured and they family of the shooter. So I guess I didn't pull it out of the air, now did I?
If you don't want comments on your work good or bad why didn't lock it out so no one can? One of the purposes of the comment section is for people to discuss and ask questions.
I have nothing but respect for them and grief and saddness for them to have experienced the worst that humanity has to offer. No where did I post otherwise.
I highly doubt you know most Amish or all 'sects' of the Amish, Mennonite or Brethren. I NEVER accused you of being or doing any bad or disrespectful, that was you reading into that.
If you would see the tourists in places like Intercourse you would see examples that show it's not accurate that 'most' Amish don't care. Perhaps you know some that don't feel that way. Again no one here is attacking you or your intention here.
listen, i lived here all my life. i know about intercourse and blue ball and all that. what got me was, this was the second time you have brought up the issue about the pictures. im not attacking your knowledge on this situation because you seem pretty educated on it. but i partly take responsbility for not putting up the facts from the very begining
I only remember posting that once. I know 99% of people that filmed these shots and pictures wouldn't know much about the Amish in general. I think it's great your showcasing that this epidemic hits EVERYWHERE. Most of the reporters in general did do a good job of respecting their wishes and privacy in this horrible time. I meant no offense. No hard feelings, fellow Lancaster Countian?
no hard feelings what so ever, and yes 3/4 of the pictures did come from media. ive showed this video to one of the fathers and asked him if he would like me to take it down and he said absolutly not. it seemed as if he more or less appreciated it. he had never seen what was going on when he was dealing with a crisis. but all is good, i appreciate your respectfulness in your responses and ask you to continue and educate people on the matter.
I know you have no way of knowing this, but it is actually disrespectful to show pictures with the faces(up close)of the Amish. Distance shots are ok, just showing them from a distance. It's against what they believe. I have family that are Mennonite and Amish and have been born and raised here in Lancaster County. The Penn State Police deserve so much praise, along with the emergency responders(fire and ems)that day.
I think what was even more amazing was the fact that they walked over to the gunman's family and offered to pray for them and help them. This illustrates what Jesus said: "You have heard it said "Love those who love you and hate those who hate you." But I tell you this, "Love your enemies." I believe that this is so important because through this love, they may be able to be saved by the blood of Christ.
I don't know what you mean. President Bush has nothing to do with whether or not they receive healthcare of any kind. If you are refering to insurance or something they have none. They never collect anything like Medicare, SS, or Medicaid. The 'church' sustains itself. They didn't even want to accept the donations at first.
When they learned of the costs they accepted to pay the hospitals, DRs, etc. Then every single Dr, specialists, and both hospitals donated everything completely free. So now the money is going to pay off any other bills from this, part to the shooters wife and kids, then the rest to a fund for uninsured patients to help with their medical bills. They received donations from around the world, in the millions.
yeah but the amazing thing about these Amish people is how they handled the whole ordeal with kindness and love not fighting and cusing.. I run on a local rescue squad and I have never seen anyone so calm and loving as these people. Now if the whole world could follow after them that would be awesome.
Columbine, Washington DC sniper, Virginia Tech, Nickel Mines Amish.... When U.S will just understand that there is a problem about guns control in this country?
I know that no offense was intended, but the Amish do NOT ever want their pictures taken and some of the shots you used did not respect their wishes.
The community and County of Lancaster as well as the commonwealth and state mourn this tragity. Pray not only for the families but the first responders as well who deal with the horror that they witnessed everyday.
I agree that it is in to say the least 'bad humor', I was just hoping that he was not serious. Geez, as if teachers don't have enough issues and problems!
Last year my kids and I went to Merrlian WI and all I want to do is go see the Amish people and the kids, some of them were frendly but others didn't even look at me,but can u blame them, some crazy idiot out of no wheres goes into a school full of little kids and began to shoot. What a sad world that we have to live in.
I live not far from Nickel Mines, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I go to the chiropractor in East Earl across from North West Trucking, the company Carl Roberts drove for. I grew up in Lancaster County and spent my life here, and I agree with djshades as well. We won't ever know why or what Roberts was thinking. That's not something we can answer. It just isn't possible, and its beyond humanity's scope to even try to.
Yeah, i go to live near nickel mines also, it was quite sad.. The way he was just able to walk in to a school and shoot is something that i feel needs to be resolved. My school is fairly close to nickel mines...it makes me worry a little bit.
Very nice video. Through every second of that anguish ALL OF THEM displayed absolute grace and dignity. The Amish men dug all of the graves by their own hands, nothing more. I've been there many times. Tears are forming at this moment. God bless them as they still feel their loss.
yeah it goes to show how crazy some people can be Roberts was my buddys nebighbor he wasn't all there to begin with i live roughly about 10 miles away but i was right down the street at his place when we heard the amblances and when i saw like 50 cop cars role up on us and tell us to get back inside i knew it wasnt good
This is so sad,the Amish people are good and they would never hurt anyone,so why someone whould do this, becasue there stupid. For the familes that lost there love ones may God Bless You All.
that just goes to show something like this could happen anywhere those pose families and children...the amish are good people this should have never happened!! im glad they buit a new building for those other children God bless them all!
I have a weekend home in Central Pa, a few hours from Nickel Mines. There are a lot of Amish farms in the area and, till this day, I well up in tears when I pass an Amish school. Great tribute video. Keep not only the families of those shot in your prayers, but the troopers, deputies, officers, emts, medics and firefighters as well. They and the community they serve will live with this horror for the rest of they're lives.
A tree grows in Brooklyn, planted by the seeds of wisdom while the insanity of Amish country is harbored by a secret maniac on niche society. Planting the seeds of Gods knowledge is a skill. Nickel mines must have been the hand of an insane God with insane methods to plant these seeds of destruction.
I live near Nickel Mines, heard the police scanner... "7 year old girl, airlifted to Hershey Med, gunshot to the head via Life Lion" I live 20 miles from there. That is awful!!
Both my mom and dad are EMT's, and when they are air-vacked and have been shot in the head they have a less then 20% chance of living!!
And then only reason someone could ever hurt a little girl or boy is because of sin!! We are all sinful!!

Acctually that is not true. Thomas Hamilton went into a school in 1996 in Dunblane, Scotland and did a similar thing- he ended up killing 16 children all in the range of 5 to 6 yrs and one teacher.

Its amazing how a Amish school shooting can turn into a debate about religion. There is one thing that is for certain. None of us will know until our day comes. Believe in what you believe whether it be in a higher power or nothing at all. Because one day...each one of us is destin to find out.

Look, god doesn't exist. Get over it, and read a damn science book for a change.
EnigmaHood 3 years ago
look, you believe that "damn science book" for the same reason we believe in the Bible...faith. unless you have a ph.d. in science, you are taking someone elses word for everything in that book...believing in the Bible is no different...
NRessler08 3 years ago
You don't need a phd to understand evidence supporting theories. All you need is a brain.
EnigmaHood 3 years ago
Seeing as most accredited scienctific "proof" began with a "theory" is it so hard to think of faith as a working theory?
thegirl44 2 years ago
There are a few problems with what you are saying. You are under the common misconception that a theory is a burgeoning scientific idea with little evidence, or may even be a guess that may one day "graduate" into a scientific law or proof. This is entirely untrue. Theory and Law are two different things. A theory never becomes a law, and a law never was a theory. Proof only has relevance in mathematics, it's not used in science. Theory is a well supported scientific explanation.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
Furthermore, "god" or "faith" or anything supernatural is never accepted as science. If you invoke the supernatural, by definition, you aren't doing science. Science deals with naturalistic explanations, not supernatural ones. Saying, "god did it", is never a scientifically accepted hypothesis.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
Let me give you the dictionary definition of the word Theory:
1. A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
2. The branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice: a fine musician who had never studied theory.
thegirl44 2 years ago
6. An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.
thegirl44 2 years ago
The word Theory, by it's varied definitions alone seems to counter your argument, especially the second one.
There is absolutely no reason that religion cannot be accepted as a working theory as every recognized religion has a final tangible outcome in it. Christians believe in an Armageddon as outlined in the Book of Revelations, Jews the return of the Messiah, Islam domination. If any of these things come to fruition they will prove whatever religious theory stated that inevitable outcome.
thegirl44 2 years ago
What the dictionary says has absolutely nothing to do with what Scientific Theory means. Consult a science book and learn the definition of theory. The colloquial definition of theory and the Scientific definition of theory are two completely different things. The reason why religion is not theory is for the reasons I mentioned before. If you don't like that, you can read about what the courts decided in the Dover trial in 2005. They ruled that creationism is a religion and is NOT science.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
THAT IS A THEORY, scientific, colloqiual or otherwise.
thegirl44 2 years ago
You have to prove a theory before it become accepted fact. A scientist, mathemetician, sociologist, anthropologist can have a working theory with very little substantiated proof, it's up to them to prove the theory with work and examination.
Spiritual beliefs do exist, we have proof of this, what they represent, however, is only theory. Whether these theories will be proven through substantiated fact, eg. Armageddon, has yet to prove itself.
thegirl44 2 years ago
It's obvious you don't know anything about science or the scientific method. You don't prove theories because they are conclusions. It doesn't make sense to prove an explanation or a conclusion, which is what a theory is. You test hypothesis, and gather facts to support your claims. If all of the facts and evidence support your hypothesis, and the hypothesis hasn't been falsified, then you have a theory. And as I said before, proof is NOT a word used in science. It's a word used in mathematics.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
Hypothesis and theory are synonyms and are interchangeable in science. Scientific theory is not etched in stone, it has to be proven. Einstein's theory of relativity is just that, the original theory that he came up with. That we eventually applied it in different applications and PROVED the theory does not change that what Einstein originally put forth was nothing more than his theory on what could be done. Matters of faith theorize an outcome as well, they just have yet to be proven.
thegirl44 2 years ago
Your first sentence shows that you do not know what you are talking about. In addition, you are ignoring everything I have said to you, and just regurgitating the same inane retorts over and over again. Read a science text book on the Scientific Method and stop commenting on things that you are clearly ignorant of.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
I have an extensive scientific background in Biology but thank you for the recommendation, regardless. What you fail to realize is that every comment that you've made supports the possibility that religion could be classified as a theory.
There is more than enough empirical evidence, books, eyewitness testimony, complete lack of a known organic catalyst, to support that a cross section of occurrences and the beliefs that they encourage create a perfectly acceptable theory.
thegirl44 2 years ago
I urge anyone reading this thread to visit EnigmaHood's page in order to view his video "God is NOT a Theory" that he made in regards to this conversation. It's actually fascinating to watch how he had to change my original argument in his mind in order to support his argument.
I find it rather sad that a simple conversation online could wind someone up to the point that they call the person that they're conversing with an idiot, but I understand that the Internet is serious business to some.
thegirl44 2 years ago
You know, I didn't think you would see the vid actually. I didn't mention your name, and I was mostly trying to make a general point about the scientific method. I take back the idiot, and moron comments. However, I do feel you are ignorant of basic scientific principles.
EnigmaHood 2 years ago
And I think that you misunderstand basic scientific principle. When a theory is applied to something with a successful outcome it does not cease to be a theory or a hypothesis. That original thought that led to experimentation or application does not cease to exist, nor does it mutate into the final outcome.
Based on tangible tools, eg. the bible, people are currently working a theory that when the outcome these tools point to comes eg. Armageddon they have prepared themselves for it.
thegirl44 2 years ago
If I were to theorize that if I combine Sodium and Chloride I will get Salt, that is my theory, correct? That I go on and do the work to show the obvious, that Socium and Chloride combined do make salt, it doesn't change my original theory.
A spritual belief can be a working theory and the pay off doesn't have to be absolution, or heaven. Some may apply that theory for the simple fact that the outcome is thay are a better person by doing it.
thegirl44 2 years ago

And i have never seen the sky so blue as it is in this place. Unfortunately its being commercialized. There is NO reason to get defensive. I may NOT live in Nickel Mines but I DO live in Lancaster County. I also have many relatives that are Mennonite and Amish so it's not an educated response. In general they don't want their picture taken,if you know of specific ones that do that's fine. I am assuming you didn's shoot all of these yourself?
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
That was meant to read as 'UNEDUCATED RESPONSE'
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
ok ok let me set some stuff strait.
1. it is NOT disrespectful to show photos of amish people. in fact, most amish dont even care, its their bishops that care. you can take their picture all you want as long as their ok with it, so i do have every way of knowing this and respecting it....if it were true. and i dont think the bishops are on youtube
djshades 4 years ago
2. i live in nickel mines, one of my bosses daughters died, and the other one was shot in the head and arm.i was home that day and on the scene. so if anyone has any questions, talk to me, not just put what you believe in the comment box
3. I didnt put this video up for critiqueing, i put it up to remind people that this could happen anywhere, anytime, any place.
djshades 4 years ago
THE HELICOPTER COST WERE ALSO WAIVED
djshades 4 years ago
Again I apologize if I was misinformed. The papers were reporting it as ALL was covered. Either way President Bush has nothing to do with whether or not they receive medical care. That is what I was responding to.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
It is not absurd. Maybe I got some part of the facts incorrect, but everything else is right about them setting up an account for other uninsured and they family of the shooter. So I guess I didn't pull it out of the air, now did I?
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
If you don't want comments on your work good or bad why didn't lock it out so no one can? One of the purposes of the comment section is for people to discuss and ask questions.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
I have nothing but respect for them and grief and saddness for them to have experienced the worst that humanity has to offer. No where did I post otherwise.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
I highly doubt you know most Amish or all 'sects' of the Amish, Mennonite or Brethren. I NEVER accused you of being or doing any bad or disrespectful, that was you reading into that.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
If you would see the tourists in places like Intercourse you would see examples that show it's not accurate that 'most' Amish don't care. Perhaps you know some that don't feel that way. Again no one here is attacking you or your intention here.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
listen, i lived here all my life. i know about intercourse and blue ball and all that. what got me was, this was the second time you have brought up the issue about the pictures. im not attacking your knowledge on this situation because you seem pretty educated on it. but i partly take responsbility for not putting up the facts from the very begining
djshades 4 years ago
I only remember posting that once. I know 99% of people that filmed these shots and pictures wouldn't know much about the Amish in general. I think it's great your showcasing that this epidemic hits EVERYWHERE. Most of the reporters in general did do a good job of respecting their wishes and privacy in this horrible time. I meant no offense. No hard feelings, fellow Lancaster Countian?
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
no hard feelings what so ever, and yes 3/4 of the pictures did come from media. ive showed this video to one of the fathers and asked him if he would like me to take it down and he said absolutly not. it seemed as if he more or less appreciated it. he had never seen what was going on when he was dealing with a crisis. but all is good, i appreciate your respectfulness in your responses and ask you to continue and educate people on the matter.
djshades 4 years ago
I know you have no way of knowing this, but it is actually disrespectful to show pictures with the faces(up close)of the Amish. Distance shots are ok, just showing them from a distance. It's against what they believe. I have family that are Mennonite and Amish and have been born and raised here in Lancaster County. The Penn State Police deserve so much praise, along with the emergency responders(fire and ems)that day.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
I think what was even more amazing was the fact that they walked over to the gunman's family and offered to pray for them and help them. This illustrates what Jesus said: "You have heard it said "Love those who love you and hate those who hate you." But I tell you this, "Love your enemies." I believe that this is so important because through this love, they may be able to be saved by the blood of Christ.
IanLoewen 4 years ago
Is it true that bush has stop't all healthcare to these hard working people. complete major twit
aledplas123 4 years ago
I don't know what you mean. President Bush has nothing to do with whether or not they receive healthcare of any kind. If you are refering to insurance or something they have none. They never collect anything like Medicare, SS, or Medicaid. The 'church' sustains itself. They didn't even want to accept the donations at first.
abfirefighterchick 4 years ago
When they learned of the costs they accepted to pay the hospitals, DRs, etc. Then every single Dr, specialists, and both hospitals donated everything completely free. So now the money is going to pay off any other bills from this, part to the shooters wife and kids, then the rest to a fund for uninsured patients to help with their medical bills. They received donations from around the world, in the millions.
