  • @TheMichaelseymour in hevan :D

  • My favorite The Beatles song!!!!:)

  • omg i new the beatles invented MTV when paul bought kodak and it started to rain

  • It's the bassman!

  • Whats with Pauls tooth?

  • @davevad9

John wasnt a wife beater dude. He

Slapped cynthia once for dancing with stuart sutcliffe but apologized and never hit her again. Unlike u i actually read cynthia lennons book. Quit being an ignorant ass hole.

  • one of the best songs about RAIN..but then again it could just be me.....

  • LOVE!!!

  • i cant tell if those are people or plants behind those gates..

  • @it's people.i have a photograph of it close up in my mojo magazine.

  • ive heard that this is the first song from the beatles which is not about love, but im not sure if its true

  • At this point they're slowly veering away from bubble-gum music and experimenting with sounds. Geniuses. Man.

  • If you look to the very right of George Harrison, there is a fish-headed terra cotta vase filled with bunches of Opium Poppy Capsules.

  • amazing song...nice beat too

  • I like the guitar sound - kinda sounds like it's coming out of a vacuum cleaner sitting inside a janitor's drum or something.

  • I guess George never saw Jailhouse Rock . Elvis invented the music video in the 50's.

  • wait did paul chip a tooth?

  • @kate3471 Motorcycle accident

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep It was a moped accident, not a motorcycle. He fell off and hit his face on pavement which knocked his tooth out.

  • @ShadowLinkxMaster Ok mr wants to one up me! lol just kidding

  • Great backing vocal

  • I love this song John Lennon 1940-1980

  • Inventing MTV is nuthing to be bragging about Georgie!;)

  • This is an underated song :D

  • where was this ?

  • @TheMichaelseymour : in a greenhouse at Chiswick House in London (filmed 20 May 1966).

  • MORAISITO - the best...

  • Ringos drumming is epic in this

  • @24rusguy : Notable in "Rain" is Ringo Starr's drumming which Starr rates as his best recorded performance. Critics agreed: both Ian MacDonald and Rolling Stone said his drumming was "superb" and Richie Unterberger of Allmusic praised his "creative drum breaks".

  • I always thought they should use the backwards "Rain" at the very end for a "Nair" hair remover commercial but no one listens to me.

  • happy b day john! <3

  • much love to the beatles.

  • Enjoyed this video.

  • Okay....The Beatles...GREATEST band ever...This definitely beats MTV by a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong shot!!!!! No one can beat The Beatles...they are unbeatable!!!!

  • One of the best songs by the greatest Band in the world that ever existed!!!!

  • I love how Ringo is stomping out the beat at the beginning.

  • Paulieee..... =o omigawsh

  • Rest in peace George and John love. The Beatles forever!!!

  • Note to mikemikeyf:

    Indeed they were, m8..

Even WELL BEFORE The Fab 4 came to be...before they were born, even...or at least when they were li'l kids in Liverpool.

The great Cab Calloway made lots of film clips (videos) of his classic songs "Minnie The Moocher", "St. James Infirmary" & such Back In His Day. There's even a video compilation of his works, and many of them are here on YouTube as well...

    Beatles 4-EVER!

  • This was the time when John really changed, this was right after the "better than Jesus" thing came up. he started for Peace And Love and stoped the goody goody moptop Beatle. Its good and bad, however you take it............. Great video though...............RIP John Lennon and George Harrison

  • It could be the worst day of my life, and this song could cheer me up in the blink of an eye. <3

  • Music Videos were around long before MTV, obviously.

  • why is pauls tooth chipped? what happened?!

  • @aerogrl626 He fell off his moped. That's why he grew a mustache soon afterward, too. His lip got scarred. :(

  • If they were still alive they would run MTV.

Picture hearing the best music for ever.

That's what it would be like with the Beatles running MTV.

  • Great trippy song, slightly sped up and backmasking at the end. I read John was completely stoned when he discovered the backwards effect(by accident) late one night after leaving the studio. This song should have never been a B-side. It should of been a Double AA side release: Rain/Paperback Writer.

  • @nitroreserve of course-all songs that John sang he wrote and his writing was light years ahead of Paul's. John's songs will last because he uncovered new territory

  • @nitroreserve : George Martin remembers it differently: "I was always playing around with tapes and I thought it might be fun to do something extra with John's voice. So I lifted a bit of his main vocal off the four-track, put it onto another spool, turned it around and then slid it back and forth until it fitted. John was out at the time but when he came back he was amazed." M. Lewisohn (1988), The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, London: Hamlyn, p. 74,

  • The Beatles set the standard for which ALL pop music is today and will ever be.100 years from now people will still be listening to the Beatles. The BEST that ever did it and no other can or will ever compare.LONG LIVE THE BEATLES!!!

  • John LEnnon's sunglasses at 1:15 1:21 . He is wearing them throughout the video.

Can anyone help me figure out or tell me those glasses type, company name/style, brand. I cannot find anywhere the name of them and so fourth.

    Thanks much!

  • @johnm4878 : I've looked for those sunglasses myself, searched all over, and cannot find them either. John was also wearing some round ones during this '66 period(orange/amber color lens)while touring and for the life of me I can't find anything like those either. I'm still searching though. If I locate anything I'll let you know.

  • @nitroreserve , apples & oranges, my friend.......apples& oranges.

  • bonafont

  • why did Paul have a chiped tooth? He also has one in paperback writer

  • @LoganJordon Because of the famous car accident that he had!!Some believe that he may even died in that crash and was replaced by someone who looked-alike him..:P

  • there was no MTV anywhere on this planet...

  • I agree -- fine bass line, but not as good as "Paperback Writer."

  • Ya, I love the bass in this! Paul!

  • Yeah I know. Awesome bass line, like in paperback writer

  • The bass lines by Paul really changed how bass players would play after listenin to REVOLVER

  • I love the Beatles and this song!!!!

  • BEATLES

  • Aaa-men...alleluiah ...forever..!

  • I like the backwards part too. George was real good lookin in this video I have to admit :) I know why Paul has the tooth chipped and I don't like the effect haha.

  • paul knocked it out of his big head? lol j/k

  • he had recently been in a moped accident i believe.

  • They are so cute! Best band ever.

  • my sin is no more than the rain that cries in the wind in which I smoke my glory. almost follows no evil

  • not as good as thiers mfraid

  • The Beatles were well ahead of their time,,having backward lyrics in there songs ,suggesting many things or just playing mind games with the media. I mean the PAUL IS DEAD thyme is pure genius,as does anyone REALLY know!!!!!!

  • GEORGE is HOT!!!!!

  • oohhmygod-2:25! George is adorableee.<3

and anyone know who the children are in this video? I think it's two little girls?

  • I do not know the answer to your question but I do totaly agree with how George looks in 2:25. It is amazing!!!

  • george is cute i like johns glasses

  • paul's sooooo cute with a chipped tooth

    <3 paul and john 4 ever <3

  • love george so much. my favourite beatle

  • Mark David Chapman is the Devil.

  • @zzzmac and John was actually Jesus.

  • @zzzmac MONSIUER DEATH!

  • @zzzmac

    agreed.

  • @zzzmac Shouldn't put his name out there y'know. He shouldn't ever be called by name. It only gives him fame.

  • @tommyrock69

Remember the name so he will always live in shame.

  • @zzzmac Or, is he??????

  • @zzzmac

And John Lennon was a wife beating hypocrite. Nobody is perfect.

  • @davevad9

And Ringo Starr beat his snow baby on the Beatles "Real Love" video!

  • @zzzmac he was under mind control at the time. by who, thats open for discussion.

  • @zzzmac no, mark david chapman is someone who was obsessed with John lennon

Obsession is a form of insanity

  • Certaintly better than anything on MTV.

  • @SRone45

    Amen Brother....

  • Paperback Writer is great but this tune is...excuse me,just still listening...showed more of what The Beatles were capable of in the future..."When the Raaaaaaaiiiinn...comes"

  • Yes, Rain was the taste of what was coming. It was a shame that Rain wasn´t released in Revolver.

  • OMG MORGAN!!!! 0:59 !!!!

  • oh look morgan its JOHN!!!!! ♥♥♥

Y DOES HE HAVE TO BE SO SEXY???

  • I dont know maybe because hes sexy but I think hes an angel from heaven :)

  • a sexy angel !!!!!

  • I almost forgot may i call you mady in stead of madeline??

  • i dont care ... my mum calls me that... lol... urs is morgan rite? u can spell mine so many diff ways... madeline maddy maddi madi maddie madi and mady lol

  • yeah its morgan

  • yea i thought so lol

omg look at John i just have to keep wacthin him over and over again until i just freak out!

  • i love this video my favorite part is when

0:06-0:44 but i do like the whole video my favorite beatles beatle is John because he was very open and truthful about PEACE and LOVE

  • The Beatles Rule

  • At the end of the song, John is saying " when the rain comes ", Backwards.....

  • poor paul chipped his tooth

  • ringos best drumming

  • i agree lots. His style during the magical mystery tour and sgt peppers days is my personal favorite but this is his best drumming outside of that era i think

  • I love Ringo's drumming in Revolver.

  • John:" I got home from the studio stoned out of my mind on marijuana, and, as I usually do, I listened to what Id recorded that day. Somehow I got it on backwards and I sat there, transfixed, with the earphones on, with a big hash joint. I ran in the next day and said, I know what to do with it, I know Listen to this! So I made them all play it backwards."

    (hes referring to Rain.)

  • Best band ever?

    The Beatles!

  • Sunshine backwards?

    genius

But is sunshine actually the opposite of Rain?

If the Beatles believe it to be so, so do I

  • Amen

  • I envy a lot of you younger people out there that havnt heard much of the Beatles songs. You have all this wonderful music to discover!

  • haha go Beatles!! i love this video!

  • I think Oasis tried to copy the Rain video on their video of Wonderwall.... With the sunglasses and similar things lol :D

  • wtf is wrong with pauls teeth from 0:48-0:51

    haha

  • He was in a moped wreck a little before tis was shot, if I recall correctly

  • he broke in a motorcycle accident...

  • Oh my god the bass in this song

  • Me encanta la caminata de Ringo, como mueve la cabeza, re duro xD jaja ESO ES ESTILO!!!!! BEATLES FOREVER!!!!

  • VERY innovative music video for its time with all of the multiple, quickly-paced edits. Brilliant idea to have conceived this look and feel...after all, the band could have just done a regular stage performance.

  • hands down this is the greatest beatles song

  • This is music!!!! Fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • John Lennon = Sexy beast. XD

    I love this song!

  • LOL ur right john lennon is a sexeh beast! and i love this song too! :D

  • pauls teeth sure got smashed up by that car accient...

  • McCartney was injured in a moped accident on 26 December 1965, and closeups in the film reveal a scarred lip and a chipped tooth.

    Source: Wikipedia.

  • was actually a "motorcycle accident" as paul put it lol

  • you mean REM sounds like the Beatles LOL

  • I love George, but he knew Bob Dylan invented MTV with Subterranean Homesick Blues one year before...

  • Actually it was The Animals cover of 'House of the Rising Sun' that holds that distinction. Probably influenced the Beatles, and then they (the Beatles) took it to the next level

  • No, he means they invented MTV because their videos went on tour instead of us! It's because they didn't tour anymore, contrary to Bob Dylan, that George can say that. It's not a question of who had the idea of making videos first, it's a question of who used them to replace concerts and interviews.

  • so i suppose in a way we invented M-T-V

  • George Harrison is my favorite musician. ever.

  • WOW!

    john looks so cute!!

    poor paulieXD

    XD

    XD

  • 0:50 pauls chipped tooth.

  • this is one of my favorite beatle songs. the intro is EXCELLENT!

  • Fabulous!!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

    John was so beautiful.

  • Of course..The Beatles invented everything !!

  • That's a bit of a stretch. Soul? Rock and Roll? They borrowed, and blended different styles especially eastern music but with the exception of intentional sound feedback, they were innovators not inventors. That my opinion BTW

  • No you have reason, I was just joking because as a Beatlemaniac I always say that they invented everything you can see..even the toaster xDD

  • AGREED

  • Itsthe bassline that does it !!!!

  • some of Ringo drum fills are pretty special too. Especially for the time and remembering in the 1960s most pop drummers played a pretty basic pattern

  • The Fab 4 were innovative, they wernt just a band, but it takes a very wise mind to actualy understand The Fabs ?

  • Don't forget that a major component of the Beatles' sound was producer George Martin.

  • I was actualy slightly aware of that fact !!!! DOH !!

  • Very true, that man is a genius, hence the name "the fifth Beatle"

  • He had Moonie to bounce off.

  • The most exciting spiritual song ever made

  • i love those sunglasses

  • yea ringos r the best

  • Sir Paul was in a moped accident.

  • When??

  • Better than those awful 70's and 80's haircuts a la Led Zeppelin, Guns n roses and all the other bands produced on the conveyor belt.

  • yeah, thats true.

  • LOL I like those groups but that was pretty good.

  • :49 sec. does anyone see that Paul is missing a front tooth? Oh, I'm so wasted.

  • I do belive the Beatles accomplished more in just 8 years, than MJ did in 45!!!! And that's not including their solo work!!!!!!

  • WELL SAID.

  • if he was a replacement (which is a joke in itself) than he was better than the original mccartney

  • Thats what I always have said. If the rumor is true (which it isn't) than I prefer the McCartney behind Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, MMT, White Album, Let It Be, and Abbey Road over the one who did the early music.

  • just lol.

  • Unbelivable that this was the same group who did 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' just 3 years previously.

  • Niar Niar Niar !!!

  • Back in 2006 we went to the exact place with the Counterfeit Beatles, where this clip was fimed. They played different songs to the Beatle played, but it was a great! The clips on my Channel. Its called A Hard Days Chiswick.

  • wat happened to maccas tooth??

  • Moped accident apparently. It went straight though his lip :O

  • moped crash

  • I love the way they closed the doors when John and Paul just walked away and George and Ringo said bye-bye :D!

0:43 Ringo was liked thinking: Well? Where's the rain?

    Ahh! So cute x)

  • This is Beatles at their best.

  • they're at that point were you're right
