The Myan calander does NOT end in 12/21/12. The mayans had a word to describe long periods of time. Much like we have decades and centuries, the mayans have a Long Count. This spans up to 5,125 years. December 21, 2012 marks the end of one Long Count and December 22, 2012 starts a new Long Count.

All that BS sounds so "Alien vs. Predator" to me. In this movie, you get it all:
recurring visits of bad guys, some "oh so dark dangers", that have nothing better to do than visit some crappy planet in the middle of nowhere - just to play hide and seek in wolfenstein castle, and in the end everything is blown to pieces.
Sounds just as real as these 2012 prophecies.
