Hello. A 'mod' is a game modification. Actually, you cannot buy this game in a shop. You get a 'vanilla'/basic version of the game over which you install the modification, that changes the game.
@shawnmohr1989 This is a total conversion mod for American Conquest Fight Back, called European Warfare Napoleonica (abbrivated HEW). In the mod you can have a stable battle with over 8000 troops on each side. There were even battles made with over 12000 on each side (total of 24k troops) but have proven to be a bit unstable in mulatiplayer games, causing crashes.
@shawnmohr1989 Also, the original game, American Conquest FB is pretty cheap to acquire these days (under 10$, if you'r lucky even 5$) and the modification is free to download which addeds a total of 13 nations, over 180 new units, several new artillery types and a wholey new gameplay compared to the original game. It is mainly a multiplayer modification, but it also allows to same extent usage of singleplayer with premade battles which can help to get accostumed with the game.
Tell me , is it playable online ? (Gamespy or so ) ? IF so , do many play it online ? IN blitzkrieg 1 for example there are usually a hundred people on :D and this game looks so kick arse , i will so get it :D
Online is the only way we play it, with as many as 7 players at once. We use the American Conquest server but we all have MSN accounts and find players that way first before we go to the server.
Hello Drake - yesterday I found out about the game and your mod and I am ordering it from Amazon. I have a few questions. 1) how many soldiers can be shown on the map? 2)Are all soldiers already set up and ready do go from the start of the battle? 3) is there a minimap to watch over the progress of the entire battle? thanks!
@willypete2171 1. well i believe it depends on how many the map maker puts on there. There can be over 5k easily on each side. 2. Yes. After the map is saved, the person puts the file on our site or on filefront. There when you load it it looks just as the maker finished. Everything is placed already and looks very neat. 3. Yes. The mini-map is very useful for big engagements and you can click on it to bring you to a different place. And btw im part of the Hawks so yeah. Hope this helps!
