While it's true that the number of women abusing men is high, men are (usually) physically stronger. This means they can take more from a women (I have seen a women hit a man and her fist literally just bounced off of him). This also means that they can do more damage to women. This is wrong. Some abusive people don't hate their partners, but rather they just love them way too much. They can't imagine their life without them... they feel like they need them as another identity to make them whole and will throw them across a room if it means protecting them from something that would, in all reality, have been far less harmless. To see people react this way or the way I just described breaks my heart. It is still abuse and there is no excuse for it.

Y'know, I find that the more you worry about these sorts of things, the more likely you are to have to worry about being a culprit of it. That is why I prefer peaceful resolutions and contentment over confusion and hatred, no matter who my conflict partner might be. So yes, I say equality, individualism, happiness and no bullshit.
Wow, I was maybe 14 and my dad had my mom by her ears and was slamming her head into the floor, she looked so defenseless, he sat on her and I went and grabbed him by his back collar and threw him across the room. omg, Guns were involved, he had us kids sit on a couch while he had a shot gun pointing at us. @tollerancewithpride but another thing you should realize is part of what you just said about them being messed up. It is, literally, sad, because some of them probably are and lead pretty sad lives. what is sad, figuratively, though, is that some people are, speaking nonfiguratively, not messed up and do it consciously. not trying to bag on your father, but it is important to know the difference between the two. If we try strong arming the messed up ones, we'll just make them worse.

As for People with issues its not an excuse but it is a reason to seek help. And the excuses do exist they just need to be questioned and brought under control. There's no shame in admitting problems, I cut myself but i found help and its no different with other ppls issues help is always there for those who seek it the shame is not admiting the problem

Much like I was under the impression you were about to do. Non abusively correct me if I'm mistaken. The only time I condone of the use of force is when it is either physical abuse that becomes life threatening or the abuse gets so bad verbally or psychologically that it clouds your judgment to that point, regardless of size or gender.

This is wrong. Some abusive people don't hate their partners, but rather they just love them way too much. They can't imagine their life without them... they feel like they need them as another identity to make them whole and will throw them across a room if it means protecting them from something that would, in all reality, have been far less harmless. To see people react this way or the way I just described breaks my heart. It is still abuse and there is no excuse for it.

It is, literally, sad, because some of them probably are and lead pretty sad lives. what is sad, figuratively, though, is that some people are, speaking nonfiguratively, not messed up and do it consciously. not trying to bag on your father, but it is important to know the difference between the two. If we try strong arming the messed up ones, we'll just make them worse.

As for People with issues its not an excuse but it is a reason to seek help. And the excuses do exist they just need to be questioned and brought under control. There's no shame in admitting problems, I cut myself but i found help and its no different with other ppls issues help is always there for those who seek it the shame is not admiting the problem

Its the Vodka, its the Meth, Its the Pain killers... years and years, he just trades addictions... I hate him so much.. My mom deserves so much better. one of my oldest friends boyfriend once hit her. she called me and spoke to me about it. she was in tears. as i arrived at her house an hour later, he was about to hit her again for calling me. he 'fell down the stairs' so to speak.

@sonotquiet we all are, we all get an opportunity, and i acted. i'm not an aggressive guy, its just i am very 'protective' of my friends... for example, if my mate got attacked, i'd be right behind him... we don't make the world the way it is, the world makes us the way we are :)
