  • Hello~how to rename the volume label?? i cant format my removable device without volume label..when i change it,i "The volume label is not valid, please enter a valid volume label" what shoul i do ?? PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE^^

  • can you tell me where can I find ur wallpaper or could u upload this for me somewhere?

  • thanks man i REALLY NEEDED THIS !!

  • tnx man

  • okay i got files in the external hardisk and i don't want to loss them if i convert it from fat32 to ntfs i will loss them ? cuase the files is important don't want lose them and also when i want copy files more than 4 gb its saying this file is to large to copy cuase its fat32 from that why i want to change it to ntfs and copy more than 10 gb files hope u help me and thank you

  • Do u loose all memory on the disc when doing this?

  • THANKS A LOT!!!

  • You left out a gargantuan piece of information.....do you lose existing files with the second method or not? Your video didn't answer this. The format (first option) will obviously delete all files.

I think you should explain this in your video, otherwise why explain two ways to do the same thing when one is clearly easier?

  • Thanks alot, Video tutorials work great for me, and this sure did the trick.

  • Really good video, but you voice keeps "fading" in and out. More consistent voice next time?

  • This is nice and all but...

I have 131/149 GB on my external HD occupied...

while my comp only has 33GBs of HD. How am I supposed to back that up?

Stupid, why can't they just reformat the drive without having a backup.

  • @LordOliven Attach another USB HDD and copy to that

  • thank you very much!

  • dude, i love you, thanks so much bud :)

  • like a charm ..thumbs up ..thanks

  • i need to know how to convert from exfat to fat32 for my ps3

  • thanks buddy!owesome!its help me a lot!

  • For those not very Tech savvy:

convert E: /fs:ntfs is the command

E: = The drive letter of the storage device

    fs= File System

NTFS = New technology file system

  • how do you convert from ntfs to fat32 so it shows up on the ps3 any 1s nos please leave a comment

  • Im trying to do the same thing but it wont let me...

  • im trying to do this, but it asks the volume of drive? ive tried 930Gb and even enterd in the volume in bytes. but it still says wrong volume entered? any help?

  • cheers m8! alota vids dont tell ya about the spaces!!! <_< thanks agen.

  • Thank you very much. I did the second option because the first was not available. When I right click on it and go to format, it says the thumb drive is still fat32. I hope rebooting will make it work. If it does, 5 stars!

  • My computer still will not say it is NTFS but my friends computer did and I copied over a 6GB file, so it does work, thanks again.

  • mine doesnt show ntfs

  • dude

do realy need use NT windows prompt ???

  • I have a question. I'm trying to change my External that is currently FAT32 to NTFS, I know how to do it but I'm scared that during the conversion, it will erase all the stuff on my external. Does anyone know if it will or not?

  • Basicly

    if we change the FORMAT

it DELETE all file inside the Disk or Flash

  • thanks

I tried to do things as showed but windows said some files were in use, and that the action would be preformed after restart so after resartI got a error and it didn´t proceed

  • I´ve a removable harddisk with fat but can´t save my back ups ( too big) if I change to NFTS

is it still gonna be recognizedif I put my ex HDD in a other PC later on ?

  • yes they will still be recognized

  • whats the advantage of converting it into NTFS?

  • you will be able to download big files more then 4 gig

  • oh yes? like what?

  • Let say your downloading a full season torrent that is 5 giga and u run a fat32 it wont allow you to download it

  • Helpful, but a little slow in the explanation

  • GJ TY!

  • you do not have to back up any files at all it is not a format it is just converting system types you keep all of your files and btw if you have problems try running under admin and here is the formula >convert "drive letter goes here": (space)/fs:ntfs and in most cases it does not i repeat does not reboot and start the process it should start automatically dont worry you will not lose any data

  • i feel dumb but what is the volume label?

  • It's the name of your hard drive.

  • nvm i got it but now it tells me it has errors and i did the chkdsk f:(fix) but then it told me that /(fix) file was not found..

  • thanks

  • will it delete everything on the drive?

  • Yes, because you are basically reformating it. Back up all your data on your hard drive first then do this.

  • oh my god youre a lifesaver thank you soooo much! that was brilliant... i tryed to solve this for AGES OMG!.... thanks again buddy :)

  • @sivytutz

thank you very much you saved my computer (i subscribe)

and you wrong it doesnt remove the files in USB

  • thanks. this helped me :-)
