@elkfarmer2001 If you mean import it to stay in Colombia with Colombian license plates, yes, that is quite expensive anywhere in South America. Even new vehicles have very high taxes if you want to import it to stay.
@edviperrrr Nope - no bridge. Sorry to disappoint. It's called the Darien Gap because there is a gap in the road - it's not that they need a bridge, they need a road.
@alibrot No it's not possible any more to accompany your car on the boat. For tons of detailed info about shipping your car please see our driving site at drivetheamericas (dot) com (sorry, youtube doesn't allow links)
@alibrot Nope it's no longer possible to go on the boat with your car - google 'Drive the Americas' to get to our site with detailed shipping information - go to the Darien Gap section. (sorry, You Tube won't let me post links)
Sorry I neglected to respond - it was $900/car, so $1800/container. If you get the shorty container which only fits 1 car it's a bit more per car, but less than $1800. Check out the website listed in the description of the video for more info (sorry, it won't let me post a link in the comments)
For a motorcycle it should be much cheaper - although I don't have an exact price since we didn't do that ourselves. You could also sail across the gap with your cycle - check out our website (it's listed on the description of the video) for info on shipping around the gap.
Ugh - I can't post our website address, but google Drive the Americas and you'll get to our site with tons of info about driving, including detailed instructions about shipping around the Darien Gap. It cost about $900/car, so $1800/container once all fees were paid.

@kbrinner I´m in Curitiba-Brazil. I´d like to plan a road trip to Salt Lake City-USA.
As long as I heard, there´s a bridge across the Darien gap, and we can drive between
central to south america.

@kbrinner Is it a non-paved surface on the darien gap? Well, in a road so important like that, and with many
people wanting to go on this trips from south to north america, I don´t know why they would let just 30 miles
without a pavement??

@edviperrrr It's through very rugged jungle that is inhabited by indigenous people so I think it should stay protected.
