According to the Reverie World site and online reviews, DoF is available for retail purchase but is still pre-production quality. This reminds me of the development process for Taleworld's Mount&Blade: a core group of fans paid to play in exchange for frequent updates based on direct customer feedback. After 1-2 years, M&B Warbands was released as a commercial quality product. Is Reverie World following a similar process? Will early adopters paying $30 now for DoF influence the final product?
@vau0807 Hello, DOF's Assistant Producer here. Yes, I'm sorry to admit that DOF was pushed through its development cycle a bit at the end. But since release, we've been working nonstop on making DOF the game we originally envisioned, and have released 40 substantial patches since. (You can see the latest one on our site). We're a small studio but our fans have our promise that we will finish our vision before moving on even a portion of our staff to DLC or a second title.
@vau0807 And yes, we do our best to incorporate fan feedback. =] Many of the features you see in game were suggested by our beta community, although new features must take a back seat to optimization. Our latest patch, however, set us "over the hump," meaning we are now able to work in new features at an increased rate. Hope this helps! Feel free to check out our site or email me at alexwalz(at)reverieworld(dot)com if you have any other questions or concerns!

It may be available via Steam in the future, but not currently. You can download it from our website, however - link in descriptino.
