  • black caviar would destroy this pack easily lol

  • Black Caviar would be 5 lengths in front of this lot !!

  • @taykyl001...talking about sacred kingdom when the beast was an aging racehorse past his best, at his best he would donkey lick any european sprinter, Black Caviar also a Australian bred sprinter is the best the world has seen...europeans go crazy over frankel, take notice she sat with Frankel as the highest rated racehorse in the world and sprinters dont normally get those allocades.

  • considering star witness was a 3yr old australian breeding times and was made to carry weight of a 4 yr old in england, hence 6lb more, it was a great run.

  • Had to watch this vid again, gee thats right Star witness came second, gee after awhile I thought we were talking about SYT or BC.

  • Star Witness finished 2nd againt Int horses, Black Caviar has won against him in a joke, now what does that say, Int. horses are shit or BC is too good.

  • @taykyl001 Black Caviar is a phenomenon. People who don't know better don't realize how significant she is. Hay List is rated higher than Takeover Target, Scenic Blast, Miss Andretti and Sacrad Kingdom. All have won big international sprints and 3 have been crowned a world champion. Star Witness can't get within 4L of Hay List and she is lengths better than Hay List. She really is a super horse. She's our generation's Phar Lap.

  • @bgardiner2000 I think Hay List is injured or retired now. The point his he was rated up High,& no offence I thought he was Ok. I C she won sum award Horse of the yr in Melb & SYT won in SYD. I dont know if u read my other comment about SYT vs Rewilding, well I wont say ill about a horse that brokedown & passed away, but if he could beat a champ like SYT, (on the whip of Frankie D who got banned, bloody idiot, I dont know if I should say anymore. But yes Phar Lap for Us. All the way.

  • @taykyl001 No he missed an Autumn preparation because of the infection he had in Queensland before the Doomben 10K. He'll be back amongst it for the spring... maybe around Patinack. I see Cedarburg died this morning. Very sad.

  • @bgardiner2000 Poor Cerderberg. Sounds like he had a Heart attack.

  • @taykyl001 I tell you something. Sacred Kingdom beat Rocketman on Rocketman's home soil in Singapore in 2009.A month later, SK came in only 5th in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Ascot .The King's Stand winner Prohibit was beaten by 2 less known horses in York this August. Star US horses ran poorly in the UK. Each course, each day is different. So while I recognize the greatness of BC, let she come over and show her skills personally in Europe. Only a deed is a fact, the rest is speculation.

  • @eposz2 LOL I tell u something. Mumbo Jumbo all going well for the 80th time she will b at ascot in june 2012, What ashame I will b in the US can u cheer her on for me, then again she doesnt need it. Look Im not here to put any horse down, but shes great. Every horse on the track racing or a warmup can breakdown anytime. Lets c how she goes in about 4 wks.

  • Overdose looked a lot better at Ascot than he did at Haydock. That said, he got his soft ground at Ascot, and still wasn't good enough to win. Connection's say he's going for the Nunthorpe Stakes at York next. I just don't believe that Overdose is good enough to win a G1 sprint in the UK. He's just simply no longer the same horse that he once was prior to his injury taking him off the track for an extended period. TJMO.

  • To the goose who replied to me bout Black Caviar. For a start she has never started in Europe. God help them if she does cos she can easily and I mean EASILY account for Star Wittness by atleast 7 lengths and that un extented. I truely though Hay List would account for her but after seeing what she has done to him I would bet not one, but both of my balls that she would beat any spinter in the world when shes right. Maybe you should look at some of her races that she has THASHED star witnes.

  • @keith4477 Oh sure, she did not run in Europe. Another reason to think that she should go abroad and get challanged by opponents on a different field. Otherwise we will never know how she could perform outside of her comfort zone. Hope she will be right when she does that otherwise you will loose your balls.

  • @btothvet There are plenty of form-lines that you can put through Black Caviar that demonstrate just what an awesome equine wonder she is. Ortensia can a good 4th to the Hong Kong brigade including Rocket Man. She couldn't get within 10L of BC. Eagle Falls & now Star Witness just throw more fuel on the fire. Hay List is rated ahead of Takeover Target, Scenic Blast & Miss Andretti. All won big international G1 sprints. HL can't even get close enough to report her number plate. She's a freak.

  • @bgardiner2000 will see in Hongkong or Dubai. It is so much easier to win on home soil. I don't think you can quote a horse to be the best ever without going overseas.

  • @btothvet Unfortunately that only shows how little you know about racing. The reason she is rated so highly by the IFHA is because the best sprinters in the world are from ANZ. I think Star Witness ably demonstrated that.

  • @bgardiner2000 Yeah, I know a little for sure, just like you. I am sure that you traveled around the world and saw many-many race tracks or maybe not?

Star Wittness 10th in the july cup? 5-6 length behind the winner. Does that mean that the Dream Ahead is as fast as BC? I don't think so....but who knows, I am sure you do

  • @btothvet Apologies for that remark. I have seen racing in many different countries. I was associated in my early years with a winner of the Aust sprint triple crown. We have a very strong sprinting tradition in ANZ, especially over the last 10 or so years. I saw Hay List demolish a strong field in the Manikato Stakes last spring & thought him the equal to anything I had seen. Her performance in the Newmarket was astounding. Ur right -this season she will show the world what we already know.

  • @bgardiner2000 let's hope for the best. the goal is to entertain people and move thoroughbred racing forward anyway. I don't think anybody could argue with that. I have also been in several racetracks in the US, UK, France and I just admire these horses so much, just like you do, I am sure. Have been in AUS few years ago, but missed major meetings unfortunately. Have friends over there, who work for large tb. farms. I know that you guys are doing great job over there.

  • Overdose sosem lesz a régi.Ez csak egy fellángolás volt.Sajna.

  • if star witness can run second , (missed the start by 2 ) so should have won, its a terrible field. black caviar beat it by 6 without coming off the bit

  • @daynos85 No, it is just that Black Caviar is so exceptional. I don't think it has sunk in yet that she may be the greatest sprinterwe have ever seen. The times she is running are extraordinary. Star Witness surely has dispelled any doubt about her ability with this run. She beat him by 7 lens eased up at their last meeting. Here he is. missing the start, and going down narrowly to the best field in Europe. If he wins the Golden Jubilee it would simply frank her greatness.

  • Awesome race!

  • beat him fair and square, and he was hanging in

  • to think that star witness isnt even the best sprinter that australia has to offer. Black Caviar and Hay List at his best would absolutely destroy that field

  • @rattus717 Again, those horses are extra quality, but they did not run. So this is a pure speculation. They both would have been favourites, but this is a different field, weather, environment, humidity etc....This group was clearly not the best in the world, thus they should meet in a neutral environment to make conclusions on who is the best of the best. Dubai sprint?

  • If Star Witness finished that close, imagine what what Hay List would have done? Nice picture hey? Now dream of how pretty it would have been seeing Black Caviar in there. Think she would win it cantering!

  • @keith4477 Not sure that you can make conclusuons like that. Black Caviar is an extraordianry horse but only run in Europe once and most of her races were on home soil. She also only ran 15 races, which is not that much for sprinters.Look at Bridgetown with his 54 sec US time, he was nowhere near close. What makes international racing tough is the distance travelling for these horses and the different enviroment. It takes away a lot from their performnace and most people don't realize that.

  • @btothvet, I think you're spot on with that comment. The extended travel really does some to take a lot out of horses, especially sprinters. Like you said, Bridgetown was nowhere in this race, and he's been brilliant on home soil in the United States.

  • @GBeret83 US turf sprinters are supreme on dirt, but their turf sprinters rarely measure to the best internationals. Californian Flag ran a bold race in the 2008 Hong Kong Sprint, and Kinsdale King proved he was among the best when he went to Ascot. Bridgetown was beating small fields on very fast Florida tracks, stepped up to the big league in the US, and ran a creditable race in this. But the inescapable fact is that Star Witness could not compete against Black Caviar in three encounters.

  • @SvendBosanvovski, You'll get not argument one from me that Black Caviar is the best sprinter anywhere in the world. Frankly, the only horse I've seen that may be anywhere close to being in her league is Rocket Man. If he ran as well as against Black Caviar as he ran in this year's Krisflyer in Singapore, it might be an interesting race to see? But I would still bet the farm that Black Caviar would beat Rocket Man. But he is probably as close as there is to being in her league, IMO.

  • @GBeret83 Rocket Man would not beat her. In fact, I doubt he could beat Hay List at his peak. RM's best performance was in defeat against the great Sacred Kingdom in the Kris Flyer a few years ago. Rocket Man beat nothing in the Kris Flyer this year (SK is finished), and it was a pretty average field in Dubai. I thought his run against Jay Jay The Jet Plane and SK in Hong Koong was pretty good, but Ortensia got within two lengths of him, and she couldn't gte within a second of BC.

  • @SvendBosanvovski I would like to see the top 10-15 sprinters in the world competing in one race, which will never going to happen.Black Caviar is the best, I give you that- but if she doesn't run outside of AUS, we will be sceptical about her being the fastest in the world. cheers

  • @btothvet Look how Bridgetown lined up with the top US turf sprinters and see how it went against Star Witness. Then look at how SW went against Black Caviar. Those races are on youtube. And we have an idea of how well Aussie sprinters compare internationally because of Choisir, Alverta, Takeover Target, MIss Andretti, Scenic Blast, Starspangledbanner, Magnus, Falvelon, and the Honker's horse, Cape of Good Hope. But those horses wouldn't have been within a bull's roar of BC.

  • @GBeret83 Also, all these medications allowed here in the US before races (lasix, bute, banamine etc...). Will make the horses look a lot faster, but they also break down so early on. Racetrack fatalities are about 2x as common here than anywhere else. Like you said, most horses here don't run more than 15 races. The racing is really f. up here in the US, but! new regulations are on the horizon. Will see....

  • @btothvet BC has never raced in Europe, and is currently unbeaten in 13 starts, a good work load for a 4yo mare. Most of the US sprinters of the year in recent times have retired by 13 races. As for Bridgetown's 54.03, it was at Gulfstream Park, Florida, where they gallop downhill from a flying start. The track is big on claiming world records for every just about turf distance. The track record for 5f there was set by Starfish Bay at 53.75. She had one run in the UK and finished 10th.

  • @SvendBosanvovski That's right. Gulfstream is a superfast track. I also think horses should not run on dirt at all. That's why they get pleuropnumonia and all kind of bad respiratory diseases here in the US. I have to say though that running horses on inclines like in the UK is pretty stupid, too. What is the purpose of that?

  • @btothvet There are US fans who will defend dirt racing to the death, so its likely to be around for as while, I'd say. I suppose every country has its traditions. We live in a great age, where international racing is reaching new and exciting levels. When you think of the challenge it was for Phar Lap to get to North America to race and see horses today being airlifted across the Atlantic in a matter of hours in airconditioned boxes is astounding.

  • @SvendBosanvovski Did you see they've banned lasix in juvenile races in the states? I'd call it a knee jerk if I didn't think it was a good idea.

  • @bgardiner2000 Yes, I did. There has been a debate at the highest levels of the racing industry in the US about the full spectrum of pharmaceuticals. This will begin to bring the US into line with the rest of the racing world. That would be a great thing, because they produce fabulous horses. Oh, if only they converted all their tracks to turf!

  • @SvendBosanvovski Absolutely. If anti-inflammatory painkillers are also more highly regulated I think the true injuries rates of dirt vs turf will become apparent. Leave the dirt to harness racing ;)

  • @bgardiner2000 Horses breakdown on both turf & dirt, but I think dirt is a bit harsh, it might take its toll a little bit more than turf.

  • @taykyl001 Catastrophic injury rates on dirt are significantly higher on dirt than on turf. Dirt - 2.14 per 1000 races compared to 1.74 for turf. These are stats from 2008. Injuries would happen if they raced on marshmellows... but dirt is definitely a harsher surface to race on. This is why anti-inflammatory painkillers are allowed in racing in the US. They've used to prop up their racing industry for years. I hope the trend is reversed... world-wide the industry needs to US to excel.

  • @bgardiner2000 God I luv yr satistics, It would be nice if a few more people on these sites would take a lesson. Gee even a 7 yr old knows dirt would b harsher then turf. Im not used to dirt tracks especially when its mud.

  • @SvendBosanvovski Whats wrong with those people dirt/mud tracks too much on the horse, just have turf. All over the world. Then theres no silly comments on whos the greatest horse. BUT BC at the moment shes the best, had to get that in, lol shes back in 4wks then it will shut u all up.LOLLLLLLLLLL

  • @taykyl001 I agree that turf racing and even all weather tracks are the best. But that's the way they like to do it in the US, and who are we to tell them how to run their racing? She will be racing for immortality next campaign. Some of the most enduring records in turf history will be under challenge if she remains unbeaten, as we expect she will.

  • In fairnes to Overdose's legion of fans, injury and illness has significantly blunted his ability. Hong Kong fans can no doubt relate to that when they see the great Sacred Kingdom reduced to a bit player. In my humble opinion he is the only horse in recent times that could have worried Black caviar. She will easily account for Rocket Man if and when they meet.

  • i am the one who disliked this vdo!!! piss off

  • Star Witness nearly defended the charge!

  • hahahahaha! in the list of best sprinters in australia, star witness is the 6th best. forget BK as she is in a diferrent league. Hay list would have won head in his chest!!!!

  • @joyojah It does not mean Star Witness has never beaten some of those ahead him in the Australian list. This would win, that would win -boring speculation. Some like sodt turf, others firm, soem like it flat, some uphill, like Ascot. Each given race is different. Star Witness came over and ran, (ran well), others did not.

Es essen az eso megtobbet!!:)AZ se edekelne ha szakado esoben latnam!!Come on Overdose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very poor race this year , donkeys

  • @cyberboy Excuse me, but it is quite a stupid opinion. What is the basis? This was an exciting race, huge pace dictated in the beginning by Overdose and a nice twist in the end. Prohibit is getting better and better, Kingsgate Native is a champion of many races including the Golden Jubiilee. Bridgetown has remarkable results in the US, Sole Power beat Equiano, Starspangledbanner, Borderlescot, Kingsgate Native in 2010 Nunthorpe Stakes, York. You cannot call such horses donkeys, man.

  • @cyberboy One more thing: Equiano won twice (2008, 2010) with very similar time (59+ sec) as Prohibit now. And Scenic Blast in 2009, too. So this race was no weaker than that of the last 3 years.

  • My interest in the race came from wanting to see how Overdose would perform. With all the health problems he has experienced the last two years I thought it would be stunning if he could return to anything like his previous form. It was a brave run; very good to see.

  • very high quality race but.....no black caviar.

  • OVERDOSE=

    5*

  • 5*

  • Overdose

    5*

  • My Australian friends tell me Star Witness is about 5 lengths inferior to Black Caviar..

  • @ReasonIsOutThere But sadly we can't witness the top fit mare BC outside Australia. She's so great! To me Rocket Man is still the best, proved a lot by himself in many of the races in different countries. However Rocket Man is going to 6 years old. The racing career of a sprinter is short. Like previous Hong Kong world sprinter hero Sacred Kingdom, he's turning to 8 years old now so he's kinder easy to beat. So BC'd better challenge RM to prove herself. i doubt it would be a great race.

  • @webbombtest I think BC & RM are going to meet here in Australia on the 5th of November for the Patinack farm stakes they are giving a Extra $600,000.00 Bonus prize money . The bookies are already betting on the Race BC - $1.30 RM - $2.75 kinda says something about Rocket Mans chances of beating her

  • @webbombtest I doubt it would be a good race also. Rocket Man would struggle to get into the same frame as Black Caviar...even at his very best, as good as he is.

  • @ReasonIsOutThere your friends are right. You only need to watch a replay of the Newmarket Handicap this year to see what a mess Black Caviar made of Star Witness & Co

  • What a great run by the lovely filly SWEET SANETTE!!!!!!!! She got a superb pure speed! She could have won if the ground is flat. However she runs best in 1000m. not much 1000m G1 in the world :(

  • @webbombtest She did Honkers proud.

  • @SvendBosanvovski She's so excited but nervous. She couldn't relax herself after the race has started. That's why she has not much left in the last 100m. Yet she showed her pure speed to us. Great mare.

  • @webbombtest She has a great future. No doubting that.

  • @webbombtest And few are aware that Sweet Sanette even beat Sacred Kingdom this spring. So it does not matter Hay List or BC was not here, this still was a strong field. And the winner's time was on par with 2010,2008 double winner Equiano's and 2009 winner Scenic Blast's (the latter also won Australian G1 Lightning Stakes in 2009). It was a great, exciting race!

  • Szép volz Dózi!Szurkolunk neked!

  • i think the third and fourth horse's runs were the best. horses that race on the pace and are still there in the finish after the backmarkers come have done excellents jobs!! and i dont think star witness missed the start by that much to cause it to lose. but im sure others peoples opinions differ from mine...great race though first 4 home blitzed that field

  • star witness should have won this really, after his poor start. So you think will win tonight and then hinchinbrook on saturday. go aussies!

  • Weakest Kings Stand in a while , and this so called super horse Overdose still couldn't beat them. This was a little short of Star Witness's best , just wait until he gets to the 1200m.

  • Gutsy Effort by the Budapest Bullet

  • How good was Star Witness? Black Caviar is 4 to 5 lengths better at 80%, he missed the kick, hung and was still there in the finish. just proves Blaqck Caviars form even more.

  • Overdose definately suprised alot of people. I thought he would run well in his 2nd run in England most horses need a couple of runs to adjust

  • No need to talk about our great black caviar. She is clearly very very superior to star witness the Aussies second best hay list has 4 lengths on star witness also.

  • Overdose is not the horse he was in 2008. A brave effort. Star Witness probably would have won this had he not got out so slowly. It will be interesting to see what he does in the Golden Jubilee if he backs up. But in case there are any doubters left, Black Caviar beat this bloke 4len, 4 lens and 7.4 lens, eased up the three times they have met. She could have won this by a second.

  • @SvendBosanvovski Overdose was only racing 3 legged donkeys in 2008 thou

  • @bigpronger I don't disagree, but the internatioal rating authority gave him a 120, following the disqualification in Paris.

  • Congratulations to winner and I am sooo moved by Overdose, 4th place after surviving the serious illness! Amazing!

  • Prohibit has really continued to be more and more progressive as the 2011 season wears on. He had 3 very decent starts at Meydan back during the Dubai Carnival, of which he won 1 of those. He's had 2 very decent starts in France. A really big effort in the Temple Stakes at Haydock. And it all came together for Prohibit today in the King's Stand. Wouldn't be surprised to see this horse win a few more group stakes sprints before the flat season is over?

  • Not sure what to make of that race. The winner has improved significantly this year however it was his first win outside listed class. They went an unbelievable pace at the front and Overdose has done very well to finish where he has and Sweet Sonette must also be congrulated for a huge run. On the whole though this looked a slightly below par renewal which lacked a real superstar sprinter, in my opinion.

  • @themightygooners4321 I think Star Witness is a superstar sprinterr, even put serious pressure on Black Caviar sometimes. And don't forget, the winning group here easily beat Kingsgate Native (almost a superstar) and Sole Power, the winner of Temple Stakes 2011.

  • @eposz2 But Star Witness was well beaten by Black Caviar. Still obviously very good. Kingsgate Native is so hit and miss it's ridiculous. On his day he is top class though. And Sole Power needs ground to have firm in the description to run well. His best performances were in the Nunthorpe on firm and in the Temple which was really firm ground. with today's ground just on the soft side, he just wasn't the same horse

  • @themightygooners4321 Yeah it is so amazing how much and how differently firm or soft counts. What was bad for Sole Power, was helpful for Overdose. If I was his owner, I would only race him on soft courses (even better with a good chance of rainsoak).

  • @eposz2 Are you kidding? Pressure on Black Caviar? The only pressure she has experienced is from a hose during post race cool down.

  • pompadourzituska007- akkor jó. Félreérthető a bejegyzésed és sok a magyarellenes barom, akik mnost kárörvendenek. Pedig nincs min.. Maradandó patasüllyedéssel is a világ élvonalában van Dózi.

  • LOVE YOU Overdose!!

  • Star Witness couldn't get within lengths of Black Caviar here in OZ. You have a treat in store when she travels abroad. As they say, racing will be the winner.

  • I don't think it was a great renewal

  • Well done, Overdose!!! :-)

  • @pompadourzituska007 !

  • Great race form overdose, i guess he could win some races in ascot on softer ground.

  • best effort was from second horse Star Witness. Was hampered 150m after the start, had it's running taken, bumped, then was unsettled hanging all the way to the line. With clear passage wins IMO.

  • Minden ország drukkol a saját lovának és Overdose gyönyörű teljesítményt adott! Te elmebeteg ocsmány szemétláda pompadourzituska007.

  • @pompadourzituska007

  • @fifikusz No offence but can u speak english, it would help. Thankyou.

  • @taykyl001 What is your problem with my english?

  • Overdose is getting better and better after his serious laminitis! Congratulations!

  • @fifikusz Why is he on drugs? mmm I wonder. Not many horses recover from laminitis, as long as he his happy. And not in pain?

  • @taykyl001

Is he on drugs? I have no infirmations on that. Do you have any?

  • Comment removed

  • szép volt

  • This race has nothing to do with Black Caviar. We know she's a star, but it's unrelated.

  • @akositsky I'm not sure how you say it's unrelated? This is how form lines work. Applying a horse's form against 1 horse and applying it against others. Star Witness couldn't get within 6L of an eased down Black Caviar. There are the same formlines through Eagle Falls & Ortensia vs the HK brigade that also frank this form. Everything points to the fact that Black Caviar is so far in advance of the curve against any other sprinter in the world it's not funny.

  • @bgardiner2000 Trust me mate, I know how form like works, and I do believe BC is the best horse in the world right now. All I meant is that this banter that goes on in these comments are not needed. Why can't we just appreciate what the horses in this field did instead of bringing other ones into the conversation. Prohibit ran a blinder, and should be applauded for that. Yes, we can compare through Star Witness, but just let the horses do the talking mate.

  • @akositsky I guess it's more to do with on-going discussions around how good BC is. There are many protagonists who would have you believe that she needs to reproduce her form outside of Australia to be considered great. But at the end of the day ANZ consistently produces the best sprinters in the world. I think your comment was that it was unrelated, which it clearly is. I get your point though.

  • Alig maradt le Overdose! Szép volt!!!!

  • Szép volt Dózi!!!!

  • Anyone who watches this and can't see why it is that Black Caviar is one of the best 2-3 sprinters in history really needs to take up another hobby. Great run by the winner.
