  • this looks strange in the trapway, never seen anything like it in my life..

  • These aren't rare actually, the last version of cadet before it went low flow.

  • Happy birthday to your toilet. LOL

  • this is probably 1993

  • That's impossible; the toilet tank indicates that it was made on April 23, 1989.

  • April 23rd is my moms birthday. lol

  • Might as well bake her a cake modeled after this toilet, lol.

  • lol ok

  • I have the same one. I don't know any one else that has one they are so rare.

  • Well now you found out about someone else who has this rare toilet :).

  • These were actually in place before my work remodeled the bathrooms in '07. They were '92 models. They've now been replaced with the Cadet 3s shown on my channel.

  • I've experienced this toilet. It's definitely the worst flushing Cadet they make aside from the low flow models.

  • This one's not that bad

  • True. They actually still make this toilet in Canada since 3.5 gpf is still legal there.

  • So you're saying that this toilet uses 3.5 gallons of water per flush?

  • Yes

  • Thanks :)

  • awesome toilet........definitely a great flush and nice ending!!

  • hmm looks like american standard managed to make a non sluggish elongated model at the end their. it flushes like the 1980s gerber's did.

  • Not a mismatch at all - both tank and bowl were made for a short time from around 1989 to 1993-94. When federal mandates called for 1.6 gpf, Am Std had to come up with a different Cadet. And there have been several that were terrible.

  • It is the short-lived Cadet toilet common from about 1989-93 before the 1.6 gpf mandate came in from Uncle Sam. It is not a mismatch.

  • Not a mismatch you say? Well, I guess I must have a pretty obscure toilet, according to you. You're also saying this is a 3.5 gpf?

  • 1989 - 1 year away from the 90's, they obviously just printed their "new" logo on it, wouldn't say it's mismatched. Plus logo's can be different to the cistern ones at times.

  • So you're saying the logo on the bowl might be from the late 80's?

  • Yep

  • Interesting, considering I've only seen the red, vertical American Standard calligraphy on models from the 90's. But still, I feel something here is mismatched, whatever it might be.

  • Could be the models, but also another possibility is that that bowl is replaced, and the cistern is original. I've seen it happen here.

  • Exactly! I remember from when I was a kid, we had a really crappy (no pun intended) toilet. So we had it (maybe) partially replaced but kept the tank.

  • Very interesting.. I think you are right and its just mismatched.
