@derrig2323 Well yanno, if Americans would be willing to accept the fact that minimum wage is as much as they're going to get for menial labor, and not want to aim for better than they actually deserve, I'm sure that these companies wouldn't mind hiring American laborers.
HOWEVER, that's not the case. The majority of Americans think they deserve everything for nothing, and wouldn't ever DREAM of working that job, no matter how desperate for employment they are.
Whether you people want to accept it or not, that was in fact the original set. I should know, because I am friends with a couple of Goodson staffers who were at the shoot.
Some touch ups were done to compensate for being left in storage and the artistic direction for the commercial shoots.
the only parts that were recreated in cgi, was the trilon with the ferranti board, and flip panels.
After the session, the set was finally scrapped and junked. Parts of the set, are with collectors.
@pseudoplastico See I don't know how the whole set could be the original set. For instance, in Combs' last year, wasn't the display on the top of the board extended so that it would include 4 numbers instead of three? I mean its possible that the picture frames and family podiums were original, but the face-off podium was re-created. Also, I spoke with someone who has insider knowledge and he informed me that the Combs set was not Dawson's, and that each version of the feud had a new set
From my understanding, they used the ACTUAL set and not a recreation. The set was kept in storage for years, not being used. After the commercials were shot, the set was junked. The podiums were used in a window display, and never seen again.
Can't be. At least, it only could be the real set if they'd gone through a lot of trouble to make pointless, tiny differences. For example, changing the number of bulbs in the family ovals? Yes, I counted, because it's an easy check of something nobody would bother to change just to make this different, and nobody in their right mind would make sure it's the same in a recreation. Never mind that the rotating board is the wrong *shape*. And the score displays couldn't possibly flash like that, etc
These are from 2002. I was also wondering who the host was ... his name is Rob Sporrer.
I also dug up a little more info on the ads from a press release: There are actually three in the series, and the rival contestants (the ones you don't really see) are all finalists from "American Idol" season 1: Nikki McKibbin, Tamyra Gray, RJ Helton, Christina Christian and Ryan Starr. The spots were filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Matthew Rolston.
Has anyone seen or does anyone have the Old Navy commercial (2004?) with Morgan Fairchild and the twins, where 1 of them says she's a 10, & she responds by saying the twins are a 20? Then the 1 twin responds by saying, "Oooooooo". It's my favorite Old Navy commercial. It's so corny. Please help with this. I need this commercial.
This needs to be on the air for the real gameshow!!!! I miss the set like this....John O'Hurley's set is okay..but the audience is a distraction in the background. and I miss the poses in the picture frames.
iT STILL ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE THE ONE VERSION, ON DAWSON'S 1994-1995 FEUD. tHE jAZZ THEME ONE. By the way, where did they did the original FAMILY FEUD set from? Haven't seen this since 1995?
That Man that was the host acted just like Richard Dawson even wore the tux like Dawson did on Special episodes,]He even walked like Dawson. He seems like he would be a great host on the current Family Feud,And the set could work today.
If Price is Right could keep a colorful set Family Feud could of done the same.
Who is that man,he was in other Old Navy Commercials?
This is a pretty neat recreation of Combs' set. I like the green background too. They should have kept it for the current version. I think 'Feud can still pull of the old set (even with a plasma screen board) but I'm sure Freemantel and the younger viewers today would think it's too hokey. I like how the host even channels/imitates Richard Dawson's body language and stage exit when the families won in fast money. Thanks for posting the clip.
I'm a younger viewer of Family Feud and I think that the set used on the Old Navy Family Fleece commercial could work today.I like the sets used from 1976-1995.Better then the ones used from 1999 on up.And that guy acted just like Richard Dawson!
I agree, bring this theme to the new version of the FEUD. Since they brought the old set verison back, in the sound stadium, do the same for the theme music!!
I tell ya, you don't know how right you are. What were they griping about anyway, that was a great representation of the old Ray Combs set, even with Morgan Fairchild.

You wouldnt happen to know how much it cost to build the original Dawson Set and Combs' Set do you? I always been curious about that.
Keon2006 1 year ago
The Combs set, was the Dawson set reconditioned.
The set with the computer to run the fast money board, probably costed nearly a million.
pseudoplastico 1 year ago
Yeah I figured that set for at least the Dawson Version was ahead of its time. Which is why it was so expensive.
Keon2006 1 year ago
The computer and the Fast Money board were the monsters of the cost.

I think these commercials are awesome, but where did Old Navy get the rights to use a version of the theme, the set and the sound effects?

Old Navy sent me $100 for using this idea. Both of my sisters, still think I could've got more + free clothes. I had fun sending the idea.

No, this theme music is actually closer to the 1976-1985 variant. The 1994-1995 version utilized mostly saxophones.

Also, the 1994-1995 version featured a different drum beat and also featured a rather redundant melody pattern that went over and over and over.

No,this version of the Family Feud theme was used for a short time on the Karn version of Family Feud.
