I sure wish I knew how you and nick40nick40 have been able to keep Earth Opera music videos up without them being blocked (by WMG).
I created a video of "Home Of The Brave" (from the 1968 album, "Earth Opera"), but it is blocked worldwide. Maybe if I created it from the LP instead of the digital/CD, it would lack any of the metadata that gets automatically ID'd.
Earth Opera was a GREAT early vehicle for the talented -- and yes, legendary -- Peter Rowan. He is a national treasure that more people should know about.
Thank you for posting this. I enjoyed reading the other 33 comments!
I owned both of their albums when they were first released as LPs (1968 & 1969). Now I own them in CD format, as well.
1966 Steve Paul's The Scene, I brought my Gibson J-50 in there and Rowan tuned it for me in that noisy club and he's a pro! Always loved this band, great stuff!!!
thanks capt. soul for posting this fine, fine band. Wish I could find the Red Sox are Winning. Thanks to Alan for turning me on them way back in the 60's, early 70's. Great music.
Have a photo of self proudly holding American Eagle Tragedy album, almost bigger than I was. One of my prized possessions. Thanks so much for making this available.
Hi. Thanks for posting this - a million memories (well, the ones I can remember, anyway) are attached to this album (which I still have). Another of my faves was "Mad Lydia"s Waltz." Thanks for the memories.
Love this - I've got to look through my vinyl -- I think I still have both albums. A friend gave them to me in 1970 when he was giving away his possessions on the way to a pilgrimage to the left coast.
One of the most beautifully written songs of that era. I used this as my outro when I did my radio show in college-- see, I had a dear friend, and he never lived to hear me on the air, and at the end of my show, I would play this song as a tribute to him and what he meant to me. Good songs and good friends should never be forgotten. Thanks for posting this song.
Loved these guys (Peter Rowan is a Legand) I saw Earth Opera open for The Doors in Asbury Park, New Jersey in 1969 That night they played The Great American Eagle Tragedy before the album was released. I went out and bought it as soon as it came out THEY WERE FABULOUS IN CONCERT

I 1st heard this song as a teenager in Dallas Texas over then "underground" FM radio station K-NUS ("K-Noose").
Bought the album the very next day.
One of the best songs of Peter Rowan's entire career.
I love Earth Opera's 1st lp as well.
Good stuff.
Thanks for posting!

Full of longing, a real beauty. GAET is available on CD. Of course, it's missing the aural patina of vinyl (or is it styrene!)

Sevfest, I was there too. Terrific show. Didn't they come out with a bunch of saxophones at one point?
