  • man, this is one incredible piece of music.... soooo awesome... thank you Vince...

  • There is no more New Orleans. New Orleans died with integration. Today's New Orleans is nothing more than a very dangerous misplaced African Village. They should rename it Bwana Junction.

  • One day, because of the movement of the plates of the Earth, New Orleans will be under an ocean.

  • Check out the newest NOLA tradition: The New Tulane Community Stadium

  • ROLL WAVE ROLL

  • Brought tears to my eyes. I was there. Great video.

  • TY Vience..wow..40 yrs. of great music!!!

  • Best song EVER! Should be New Orleans theme song for at least the next 100 years!

  • I wish someone would post Vince Vance's parody of "Amadeus" that was entitled "I'm a DAGO."

What ever happened to that song?

    "And the Pope is... POLISH???!!!!"

  • Hey Vince! Thanks for the call! Good to talk to you, glad I ordered your CD! fan for life!

  • brings me back home

  • as much as i LOVE this video and LOVE this song - it always sticks out that it says "2009 Vince Vance" even though he's talking about the 2010 oil spill and the Saints Super Bowl XLIV Victory. In my mind it's not a mistake - I like to think Vince saw it allllll coming.

  • Goosebumps every time I watch and listen......Thanks Vince!

  • @islandgoil4

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THIS TO IPHONE THIS IS THE BEST

  • Sharing the New Orleans Spirit. The venue for our next Rotary World Convention in May 2011.

Just Hate the Evil Entrenched there.

  • Wonderful! Loved that! Must have lived there in another life time.....

  • Maybe one of the songs should be "Next Time They Say a Cat 5 Hurrican is Coming This Way I'll Head the Warnings to Evacuate."

  • I'm grinning from ear to there. thank you. thank you. thank you. such an incredible message to all..

  • Thanks Vince. Good to see you are still working your genius...from an old friend and former Valliantette. You still got it baby! That was a beautiful work of art.

  • @Chrliesangelsman Have you ever heard "DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO MISS NEW ORLEANS"? recorded by Fats Domino, Harry Connick Jr. and Pete Fountain just to name a few. Sure would sound funny to sing "DO YOU KNOW WHAT IN MYNNS TO MISS NEW OR-LYNNS"!!!

  • As Fats would say, "I'm walkin to New Or-lynns"...but Vance, I definitely forgive you for calling it New Or-leans...it makes for a good rhyme, but being a native, its like calling crawfish, crae-fish....when we know they are craw-fish!!

the song is till very AWESOME!!

  • Vince Vance & The Vakiants,,1972- Breckenridge , Colorado..............might have been with Sha Na Na and o/r Hot Tuna! Now thats weird....!

  • Vance is actually pronouncing New Orleans wrong purposely. He's doing it to keep the rythm in the lines.

  • @brucethegirl1 - baby, you're not pronouncing it wrong...everyone else is.

  • @robyngt21: New "Or-Lynns" is the correct way....... Not New "Or-Leens"...... When I say that some natives also pronounce it "new-ah-lins" I am indicating more of an ACCENT than improper pronunciation. I HAPPEN TO KNOW FOR A FACT, it is "New Or-Lynns" since I was born, raised, and STILL LIVE in Louisiana.

  • Soulful. I LOVE IT!!!!

  • What an awesome tribute to an amazing city, from one of its favorite sons. Vince, once again you have captured the emotions of a time and place and set them to music. Well done!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!!

However, sound like some of you, need something to do other than Language arts! Like Enjoy Life;) The song is damn good!!!!!!

  • "New Or-leens" is the correct pronunciation when using it in a song. Benny Grunch says so on his web site. Case closed.

  • okay, big deal, he pronounced it that way so it would rhyme...gimme a break...even people from different parts of the city pronounce it differently and btw... WHO DAT?

  • @noladancer1: I NEVER said it was a BIG DEAL that he pronounced it the wrong way. I was simply pointing out a fact. And BEING from Louisiana ( your screen name) then you should realize that NEARLY EVERY NATIVE (with extremely rare exception) pronounces it correctly. "New Or-lynns" (or Nawlins). I am not ANGRY that he pronounces it wrong, but you seem ANGRY that I have point it out. Why? I think ppl from Delaware would point it out if 1 of their cities were pronounced incorrectly.

  • (contd) Why is that such a BAD THING? I like when people know things to accurately depict our state. I think it is a GOOD thing for our state to be represented correctly. AGAIN, IT WAS A NICE THING FOR THE MAN TO WRITE AND PERFORM A SONG FOR NEW ORLEANS. I am NOT posting my comments to be MEAN. Geez! U should want people from other states to know correct information about YOUR STATE TOO! An in-law of mine from Boston never new the correct pronunciation until I told him. He was glad to know

  • the only problem is..... WE DON'T PRONOUNCE IT "NEW OR-LEENS (as in like: "lean cut of meat")..... People from New Orleans, Louisiana (I am from Louisiana, so I KNOW) pronounce it "New-ah-lins." Other cities in the state pronounce it "New OR-lynns" but "NEVER New Or-leens." I hate hearing it called "New Or-leens" because it is so incorrect...... But nice for this person to write a nice song for our state. It would have been better though had the song rhymed with the way it is pronounced.

  • @Chrliesangelsman Vince vance is from NOLA.

  • @dcamer: WELL.... you would NEVER EVER EVER EVER know it from how he pronounces it..... I promise you that if you ask locals and Louisianians if they thought he was from here, they would say "no" because everyone here can usually tell IMMEDIATELY if you are from out of state by the way you pronounce New Orleans. No doubt about that...... Now it has me wondering if he was ORIGINALLY from Louisiana. I could understand if he was from another state and MOVED here, then that would make sense.

  • @Chrliesangelsman actually, people FROM new orleans, myself included, pronounce it New OR-lynns. I have never heard anyone say New-ah-lins. That sounds very faked, but maybe I'm pronouncing it in my head wrong....

  • @brucethegirl1: when I say "New-ah-lins" I am indicating an ACCENT not necessarily an improper pronunciation (as I stated in the above comment reply to someone else). U obviously are not understanding what way I am indicating that it is pronounced, for IF YOU HAVEN'T heard at least ONE native of New Orleans pronounce it that way, you must live under a rock or not get out much. I COMPLETELY agree with you though, it is indeed pronounced "New Or-lynns." Thanks for your reply.. :-)

  • @Chrliesangelsman That comment wasn't up when I posted my reply two hours ago. At least not the one I think you're talking about. And like I said, I was probably pronouncing new-ah-lins wrong in my head, as in: you meant to pronounce it one way, and that way isn't coming off in type. Sorry if I was unclear about that.

  • @brucethegirl1: You need not apologize...... I am sorry if I sounded rude, I owe YOU the apology. Take care nice lady..... :-)

  • @brucethegirl1: PS: I just realized my tone in the reply may have come across as "sharp" and I want to apologize. I guess maybe I should have worded my reply to you a little better so it didn't come across that way. I surely didn't mean it that way. Again, I apologize.

  • @Chrliesangelsman It's cool, I had figured as much, it's pretty hard to understand tone when you can't hear the voice :D Just like accents, haha. but Im originally from Chalmette, so that could also have something to do with this whole conundrum...

  • Blessings My Friend Take care Of Fats Domino He Is A New Orleans National Treasure ..Peace From Canada

  • Blessings My Friend
