  • I realize the days of Pink Floyd are behind us, but I ran out of characters and couldn't refer to them in the past tense. I'm sorry for that, and I'm sorry they are past tense.

  • Music today has no staying power. It's one group after another, here today, gone tomorrow, a collection of really good, one-hit wonders. Pink Floyd was different. They had staying power. Few groups had it then, and none seem to have it now. Even 1984 "Aha", with "Take on Me", a really great song, with more than 16,000,000 hits on YouTube, can't hold a candle to music like this. Few guitarists compare with David Gilmore, and this band, Pink Floyd, performs better than anyone, probably ever.

  • c.MENTI AI PINK FLOYD MI PIACCIONO TANTO!!|!!!

  • Thank you for sharing. One of the Best songs ever by Pink.

If anyone knows where I can buy the video please reply.; I have lost my original VHS tape to it.

I saw them 3 times that year, In Dallas, Houston and San Antonio too.

but the last concert they had I was disappointed in the video they made, cuz it was at the end of the tour and they were tired and voices hoarse and bad directing in videography, seemed like someone directed that video (division bell tour) who didnt like pink floyd lol.

    TNX

  • the most beautiful concert at which I was in life ...

  • love this solo from the main man....played it many times of the album onto cassette in the 80's....

  • It does not get any better than this, PERIOD!

  • one of the best Floyd tunes of all time, a Momentary Lapse of Reason is a VERY good album, ranks right up there with earlier albums

  • this sounds nothing lke the record. it is harder in some parts and softer in others. it is it's own creation and deserves its own platform to stand on. the only time pink floyd sound like the sutdio version is on the pulse cd that was kinda boring cause i was heraing the great tunes with cheering in the backround.

  • I love that they sing this song exactly the same as on the record. And that they sound just as good live as on the record, which is not always the case with alot of bands. My Fav ever!

  • @cj222100 only a handful of bands sound as good live as they do in studio, they are:

Rush, Moody Blues(circa early 70's), Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull, with Rush being number one, they are absolutely amazing!!!

  • Salve salve Pink Floyd!!!

  • The MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD wants to be David Gilmore.

  • @Sueski2 i dont always listen to music ... but when i do i prefer pink floyd

  • esa Fender tiene un sonido inconfundible, pero solo cuando la toca EL ,lo voy a intentar decir en ingles, that Fender's sound it's inconfundible, but just when HE is playing it,por cierot el coro suena muy bien

  • GOD YES............................

  • megawatts are not enough to play this sound...

  • this is a simple shit for ignorant people!

  • @apemaiala u r a cunt simple as !!

  • To those 3 people you disliked this song/video. Gilmour doesn't apologize for it not sounding like beiber, you tards probably fist pump to Pitbull and watch jersey shore religiously. PF doesn't want you! This song is beautiful and should be a historical landmark

  • @Cmwbran83 Why must there always be a comment like this, the 3 dislikes were likely people who watched the video, and decided it wasn't for them. I'm a big Pink Floyd fan myself, but I don't chastise people who don't like it.

  • WHY WOULD THIS BRILLANT BAND WASTE ANY TIME WITH THE EVER SO NEEDY ROGER WALTERS - WHEN THEY HAVE THE POWERFUL VOICE OF DAVID GILMOUR Ô¿Ô

  • @ACEOO8 lyrics.

  • io c'ero

  • Of their brilliant body of work, this song is their masterpiece!

  • always the same argument, roger waters did thsi, and pink floyd is nothing without him... i beg to differ, they are brilliant with or without him, and he is brilliant with or without them! no need to argue about it, since they split they have each produced fantastic albums, amused to death by roger waters, is awsome, and the div bell by floyd is equally as good!

  • Why don't they make music like this anymore?

  • Brilliant! What more can I say.

  • oh man :'-) i love this song soo much, since in was born man

  • OMFG i am so in love with this

  • @wilko188 isnt it a magnifcient piece of music

  • pink floyd till i die

  • All of the above & I got to race vintage cars with David & Nick in Mexico; an experience beyond the music!

  • Just brilliant! It make me feel and think.Gilmore just shines...thanks for this clip.

  • there are two bands that cannot be surpassed - PF and F4

they are the definition of Harmony

  • @SunTeleLeo who the fuck is F4?

  • I can only start to imagine how lonely and alone he must have felt to be able to create this materpiece. The heartfelt pain of someone who undertsands "the turning away".. a classic Floyd piece, Thank you for posting this piece of musical brilliance

  • PINK FLOYD LA STORIA NON SI RIPETE , IL CONCERTO A VENEZIA DEL 1989,RESTA UNICO NELLA STORIA DELLA SERENISSIMA ,EVENTO MAGICO VISSUTO DAL VIVO

  • one of the best ever

  • I WAS THERE !!!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL !!!!!

  • this is the same version in delicate sounds of thunder

  • I don' no why..but gilmour's voice is always amazing in live concerts..it's always better than his one in albums

  • I miss the times when Gilmour had long hair.He still has alot of energy here. Great concert, but i'm sure he was on cocaine here

  • Yes, Roger Waters was the BackBone of Pink Floyd but hats off to David... He does well but as it was said in other posts Roger Waters was the best for Pink Floyd.

  • @MrThewilderness IT was just so unfortunate that Roger let the Drugs and Alcohol get the better of him. Plus Roger and David had there disagreements too.

  • @MrThewilderness what the hell r u talking about?!

  • @MrThewilderness How old are you? If you were over at least 25 years of age you should know Roger didn't do shit, Roger was a dick to all the other band mates, its a good thing he left or Richard wouldn't of been in the band after The Wall.

  • @Leon1242 Roger at the time was somewhat of an asshole to his bandmates, I wouldn't say he did nothing. He wrote most of Darkside, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and obviously The Wall.

  • @vanhalenkid I dont really agree, lol Yes he wrote most of the Wall. But not Darkside, Wish You Were Here, or Animals really.. The Wall was more of Roger Waters creating an album by himself. You realize why Gilmour and Waters had a huge problem with eachother right? They had different opinions of music. Both were really sucessful though, so I guess it doesnt really matter.

  • Lyrically all of them were written by Waters. The music to Brain Damage, Money, and Eclipse being written by Waters. Now WYWH, while Dave wrote the key riff to Shine on, Roger arranged it, as well as the most off rest of the album except Wish You Were Here(the song) which was written by Dave. Roger wrote and played guitar on Pigs on the Wing, Rhythm guitar on Pigs, and Sheep and wrote some parts of Dogs. He also arranged Dogs.

  • this is music of the 80's some bands can't make this music now

  • io c'ero non aggiungo altro

  • bellissima non ho parole

  • SILENZIO I FLOYDS STANNO SUONANDO.......

  • Who would be in your home to sail be destroyed by sin.

  • DG's guitar playing is so laid back but what a sound. Great!

  • such a beautiful version of the solo...DG proves you don't need to play 20 notes per second to show you've mastered the guitar

  • @smalloy88 Few people understood the concept of nuance and note texture as well as Gilmore. His playing is deceptive and wonderfully so.

  • @smalloy88 Master the guitar? Shit, Gilmour makes the guitar his bitch. :P

  • i love the intro from rick's keyboards. too bad they didn't do this intro on the 94 tour. the intro is very innocent, gentle and loving.

  • i would give my right nut to see gilmour play. waters and the wall just isnt enough

  • @jwindyboy Nah, im not against roger in any way.. But he would of ruined the songs calmness, im sure of it..

  • Fantastic. The mighty Floyd at their best

  • @bigbaddaveify W/o Roger, hahaha. Yes

  • its absolutely the greatest band in time ...the magician ..the wizard of the floyd the one and only sir DAVID GILMOUR

  • Comment removed

  • the piece of guitar jungle music at the end is the best fucking shit an ear can hear, brings out a lot of my emotions

  • Best band...best song ever!!!

  • Oceans of tears!

  • grandissimi!

  • but by the way...whichone's pink? lol

  • they always got the loveliest singing ladies. If I was there, I'd be listening to Dave and looking at them ladies singing, yes.

  • LEGENDARY

  • Excelente tema grande Pink Floyd...!!!! thank

  • Guitar's Gilmour is a link from me and the Paradise...

  • A great song to close your eyes to, and let the music do the rest!

  • ese es muy bueno, (this is very good)

  • Questo pezzo è di una bellezza disarmante..

  • bello

  • You are on crack, guy...David is a masterful musician to be sure...but Roger Waters is a million times the creative lyrical genious. There is no comparison...please laddy, get hold of yourself...

  • fantastica

  • first band i loved. First band made me love music.

  • hahaha i was at this concert at St Marco square Venice Italy. holy shit it was packed. the 200k number is wrong it was more. they-Carabinieri-italian police- had to seal off all entrances to the square close to the concert time due to the fact the square was packed. Pink Floyd totally rocked the square..i was at the back near the church and man they sounded great. there were several stampede incidents but no one got hurt. they were on a barge floating in the lagoon. it was a free concert.

  • may be 1.000.000 people, in Venice. no place to piss, no place to eat, but i was lucky and i saw everything over roof of a a boat station . Much better than a trip. A really trip. without any drugs

  • I was there. Incredibile!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pink Floyd are the best ever!!! the biggest fan from Portugal...

  • emi, it's guaranted...

  • Quality tune!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:40 the "pinch harmonic".. such a shame this technique was discovered so late in the world of guitar playing, I only remember hearing it post mid 80s. if it was discovered before then, alot of studio album solo's what of been 200% better!

  • @ vegunited06

Not true really, check out roy buchanan and jeff beck. Roy used this technique through the 70`s. Check out Roy buchanan the messiah will come again. I especially like the live recording in Va., not sure of the date but heavy use of pinch harmonics. if you like pinch harmonics, as I do, you will appreciate Roy.

  • If God played the guitar, this is what it would sound like.

  • David Gilmour is the god of guitar.

  • @richjochrisdan

    whose god?

  • @richjochrisdan He is, God is playing ! Haven't you figured it by now? :D

  • @richjochrisdan

That is God playing the guitar.

  • there are two tips of music...

one of them is Pink Floyd music

the other musics are the second tipe

  • Best band ever. Full stop.

  • why is that every time i hear this song i start to cry?

  • gilmore wow

  • Now, more than perhaps ever before, there should be no more 'Turning Away".....

  • Gilmour is amazing and his guitar solos blow my mind away. I LOVE PINK FLOYD AND ITALY !

    :)

Favolosi!

  • what saddens me is that i can only see recordings of pink floyd live....

  • @Rampagingnoob

    you should be happy.

I rate artists as how they can play live.

Pink Floyd is among the best and this concert in Venice is real history. the last pop concert ever held in Venice end surely one of the best concerts ever of all groups.

  • You obviously didnt understand what i just said.

I said i was sad cause i wont be able to see them live ever...

  • @Rampagingnoob

    i apologise.

I've should have read your comment twice.

I find it also sad i've missed the opportunity to see them live.

Well, so be it! But i'm very happy to have seen The Boss and the ESB 5 times the last 7 years.

  • No more turning away..........!

  • Pink Floyd is AWESOME

  • Esta banda não faz show, ela faz ESPETÁCULO!

  • Best band. Best song. Best guitarist. Best lyrics.

Pink Floyd PLAYS the feelings inside that I cannot describe in words.

  • how true, how true. *sigh*

  • @Lightningcarefree very poetic.........could'nt agree more!!!

  • grazie PINK FLOYD x averci regalato tutte queste emozioni...

  • Since 4:57...

  • Thank you Gilmour...

  • I was there too in 1989... i'm from Venice...and ,despite the crowd and the caos...during the concert it was been the most beautiful and amazing moment for the city...Venice were magic...with the music and the special effects mixed and reflected on the water of the S.Marco bay...

  • Were you really? I envy you. Even though I couldn't have been there even if Iwanted to,since I'm only in my teens.

  • You are luck.

This is for a few human being...

Nice! I´m sure it was great

  • you lucky human being

  • I was there.. who else was there? but just before the concert started people started running from one end of the square towards us and we were forced to leave the square before the concert started

  • 7:00 - Gary Wallis "Is he finished yet?...ahh nope, another few bars to go!"

  • haha thanks for pointing that out...hes rockin the other mullet of the tour

  • you've noticed that well, lol

  • ha that's funny! structurally, P.F's songs are the best in rock music, i think

  • Gilmour's guitar talks to me.

  • David looked cool here, with his mullet, but he looked damn great in 1994, when he had short hair, jeans and black t shirt, with the red fender strapped around him.

  • they sound like great big beautiful machine......they make my spirits soar

  • There I was ! Thanks WindS

  • One of the best songs ever, PINK FLOYD ROCKS FOREVA!!

  • sta era mi canción preferidaa !! no me cansaba de escucharla !!! rock sinfónico y espacial !!! KA GRANDE ERA STA BANDAA !! PURO SPECTACULO AUDIOVISUAL !!!

  • This is far away the best version of the best music of the best group of rock of all the times.

  • Agreed.

  • !!!!!

  • this song really remember me my kidages,,,,specially the first chord of wright.....when he is playing on the keyboard....wondefull ,,,

god bless him and peace on him

  • this song proves that roger is not the genius of the band. mister david come to portugal please

  • Roger may have written most of the lyrics, concepts etc. but Rick and especially David was always the soul of the band. They shaped the songs, and they are the Pink Floyd sound we love. You sack Wright, you get 'The Final Cut'.

  • @joaoyoutuve

DAVID GILMOUR PLEASE COME TO PORTUGAL!!! I SO WANT TO HAVE A CHANCE TO BE ON ONE OF YOUR CONCERTS!

  • @joaoyoutuve Don´t take me wrong, David it´s my favorite, Roger it´s a rude gay but it´s a GENIUS......he´s a man that went out in summer holyday and when he returned he had almost the complete wall album written in a paper under his arm....... not bad

  • @joaoyoutuve If you are saying Roger is not a genius then you couldn't be more wrong, also the 26 ppl who liked this comment shame on you all. Dave Gilmour is the best guitarist in the world and amazing singer, Dave Gilmour is a genius but so is Roger Waters and Richard Wright and we all should be privileged to have heard them all play together. Lets put the Waters Gilmour differences aside.

  • @nutsbof No doubt, Roger Waters is an amazing genius but he can't do nothing without Gilmour and Richard Wright. I don't Know to explain this fact, but I think they are expecialists in diferents matters of the music, and when they make something together they are the best band ever!unfortunately that is no more possible. Roger Waters needs Gilmour and Wright to express his talent and the capacity to writte songs.

  • mai nada!

  • @joaoyoutuve couldnt agree more.

  • @joaoyoutuve it proves gilmore is capable of a few good songs. Rogert wrote 80% if Pink Floyd and the albums were legendary and epic. Delicate sound and Momentary lapse are ok albums with a couple great songs, this and "High Hopes." The rest is very average. Pink Floyd was 4 members not 24 (lol).

  • @deathmetalhippy Roger Waters left, and Pink Floyd continues. That speaks for itself. If you really think Roger wrote all that, watch the Live at Pompeii video and watch David sit there barefoot and write half of Dark Side of the Moon in front of your eyes. High Hopes is on Division Bell, not DSOThunder or MLOReason.

  • i love this song is really exiting and powerfull on the turning the way...the guitar solo is amazing thank you david thank u...

  • Comment removed

  • er what you see is the most attractive man of his generation...hence the reason he plays the best music, but yeah he didn't dress up, he just wore what suited him

  • David Gilmour is by far my favorite guitarist of all time...but man he musta been at the end of the "i have hair like phil collins" period in his life cuz that mullet, if you can even call it that, is terrible lol.....good thing it's not about what u see, but rather about what you hear...which in a word is phenomenal

  • My father was there... and he didn't bring me with him:-( lol I was 2 y.o.

  • Not bad.

Shine on and keep the spirit alive. RIP Rick.

  • David Gilmour is such a skilled musician. I know some hardcore fans might not like this, but David Gilmour has skill that far exceeds what Roger Waters has. As seen here (and espcially here)- David is a profoundly skilled guitarist, period.

nanny I dig what you're sayin tho.. alot

  • nanny,you scared me ther for a min.but hell yeah..forever!

  • what is pink floyd? after 40yrs r they still 4 men with long hair and lyrics about war? 3 men with a lot of backround friends? an imposter fallowing a former leaders shadow? or something bigger then any individual within it?... maybe the only band to go beyond it's creators and become an expression of dreams, soul, life, love, hate, jelousy, sorrow, magic and an extension of the only part of man to survive the darkness we bring into the adult world as adults... pink floyd forever

  • as good as she gets

  • I love this concert and this is the best version of this song ive ever heard.Yet another movie, money and another brick in the wall are also the best versions ive heard. This venice gig is just brilliant!

  • dude it's pink floyd ! all his versions are fckn great ! =D

    Grtz Jspr

  • Jasper ge zijt e kalf. tconcert van venice wast beste ooit.

    Tetten trouwens

  • <
