A VR6 was not designed to be "well balanced", it was designed to fit in the golf/jetta engine bay, What makes it different from other v6's is that its cylinders are at a 15 degree angle...not 90...not 45! Because of the narrow agle it has a single head. By the way the VR6 was never in an A4, just because its a 2.8 made by Audi does not make it a VR6. Not Arguing,posting correct info to educate othe

so how did they do this? cut out the trunk pan of the old GTI, custom fuel tank and mounts for the R32 subframe? did the vr6 fit up front without any modification to the chassis?

no you have to custom make mounts and adjust the chassis legs slightly to make it fir, custom fuel takd and modify the floor pan for the gearbox and 4motion system.

and its not a vr6 its a v6

@junkydrummer Sorry, but it is a VR6. Which is the same damn thing as a V6. What makes the VR6 special is the angle the cylinders sit at. The angle is 45 degrees, which is much more narrow than the usual 90 degrees of a V6. The result is a much more balanced vehicle. Doesn't feel quite as front-heavy, even though the .:R32 is an EXTREMELY nose heavy vehicle. But I digress. The .:R32 has a 3.2L VR6. End of story. P.S. I work for VW as well. Have a nice day.
