@egyptswain Oh, so...OK. In my country (Czech Republic) is majority of railways electrified. Such operation is indeed more efficient, but...is it somewhat cold, distant. There simply are missing the romance. I prefer to ride on trips to places where goes diesel train. Especially to the north from Prague.

Yes Andybowe, it's because the Rohr like the Egyptian's rems, was built by ANF in France. (know like RTG here, Rame Turbine à Gas) Here like the US, there are out of service.

Let me tell you in Italy there are diesel locomtovive and trains to. Even todate new trains have engines running on diesel. If you want to see a new system look at the German MAGALEV.
