 Terrosirts are NOT the spokes people for Islam. There were 8 people who hijacked those planes, Not A Nation or a Religion. PEOPLE OF ALL RACES AND CULTURES AND RELIGIONS DO BAD THINGS. not just muslims. The East is not just some place you can throw all of your hatred. Let them build their mosque!! FREEDOM OF RELIGION!! How is this even happening in america right now?!

@aibcomeback you know they dont need the mosque there.. there are no muslims in that area.. they should be responsible enough as adults and if they cared and really wanted to improve their relationship with americans they would not build it there

There is already a prayer hall housed inside Park51 which is conducting Friday prayers every week since last year and from a Muslim perspective, this means that there  ALREADY is a functioning mosque inside Park51 which is being used by Muslims in the area.

I do not know whether these protesters realize it but the fact of the matter is that what they are actually protesting against is the addition of recreational facilities like a swimming pool and basketball court inside the building.

@hamba2han I was in the place I realize it is a Mosque it is the symbolic Tower that they wish to build in Ground Zero that I take issue with and BTW it has been there for over 20 years doing service proof that it is about the hurtful nature a Victory Building would cause our families and our nation overall not the religion

@andybluecollar This is what I have trouble understanding.

People like Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer and not forgetting also politicians like Palin and Gingrich, all object to the plan to build a MOSQUE at Ground Zero.. the community center part does not really interest them at all.

You however seem to be saying that a mosque near Ground Zero is not the problem but the size of the building is.

If this is the case, then it is clear that your protest movement does not have a clear objective.

@hamba2han Forgive my communication skills I am but a mere construction grunt. The building is a Historical Landmark regardless of what the commission says. It was the first strike. The landing gear of Atta's plane hit the roof before it hit the Tower. The building would be looked at by the families and citizens of the nation as sacriligeous. Ground Zero is a massive grave for thousands of us and putting up this would be hurtful to all who lost. Even Muslims I speak to are shocked by the idea.

You can build your "community centre" there, when every religion and non-religion is legitimate to do the same thing in Mecca, deal?

That doesnt make sence? Afgan and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, it was 19 Saudi's. Saudi's that the U.S has been paying billions of dollers for oil for as long as I can remember. My last point which is the most importent I think is that ITS NOT A MOSQUE!! Its a community centre AND its not at ground zero. That soilder is definetly brave and I hope he makes it back ok, but sorry to say, he signed up for the wrong reason. Those wars have NOTHING to do with 9/11.

@andybluecollar Andy I repect what you doing over there fighting for what you believe in BUT. You have to look at the history of where this mess all started. During the Cold War while the Solviots where occupying Afgan, It was the US that sent Bin Laden who worked for the CIA at the time as you may be well aware of this undeniable fact. He gave knowleage of gorilla sytle, fear tactics as we call it terrorist tactics these days. The US trained the very terrorist that your fighting now.

@andybluecollar By the way Andy, Even though it may not seem like it but I also do not agree with the Muslim Community Centre being built there, it raises too many hurtful memories for those that live there. I recently did some research on the main Fundraiser for the Muslim Community Centre, appearently he is a wealthy Arab bussiness man who is one of the co-owners of the Fox News channel. I thought that might be something you should know.

@andybluecollar Also, I've done some research and found that FOX News has not mentioned his name even ONCE. Andy these people running Fox are just using this situation to make money from you and the protesters and the money they are making is going back to Alwaleed bin Talal who is also funding the Muslim Community Centre. Fox news probably think you will never find out but atleast now you know Fox motives.

The funding for the Muslim Community Centre comes directly from the nephew of the Saudi prince King Abdullah, who is known as Alwaleed bin Talal. This business man is the second largest co-owner of Fox News and a good friend of Rupert Murdoch. Im sorry to tell you this Andy but it looks like we been played for fools, all of this has jus been a ploy to boost Fox News Rating. I'll send you a link in my next comment.
