  • I think that strange guitarsounds is 'octaving' with a Digitech Whammy Pedal for the most part.

  • Just as "wtf" in concert as on the albums...

  • how the fuck does he do those things on guitar!?!?!!?

  • @TheViolentPacifist77 With the help of twelve hundred effects pedals and an immense amount of talent.

  • i wanna see em again sooo bad. best show ever....? melt banana , aids wolf, and the locust? and black eyes if they where still around. i just wanna dance and have fun. AAAAHHHHH EEEEEEEE

  • Seeing them tonight in Madison for the first time. I'm pretty excited.

  • Ive seen this band 6 times now. The first time, I literally cried from how incredible they were (especially Agata). They are one of the most important bands of all time.

  • this is serious?

  • i wish i could quantify just what it is about agata that makes him look cooler when playing a guitar than anyone else does when playing a guitar, but i cant

  • I saw them on their first american tour. Yasuko, the singer would not move her lower body but just about twisted her upper half in two in frenzied not moving dance. Rika the bassist had super long hair and would not look up keeping her head far enough forward that her hair didn't get into her strings. Never saw her face till the 4th or 5th time I saw them.

  • I'm gonna listen to some Melt-Banana now.

  • Wow... There are some crazy videos which need to be seen live, by mine own eyes!

    Cutest Bassist Ever?

  • its coming to NEW music....

  • Love this song.

Agata is looking especially grunge-core here.

  • There great *__* ~ i was at the concert this year *o* ~ I love them <3333

  • fuckin awesome band. Love speed punk

  • i like melt banana i do.

  • Cool

  • if anyone's interested, the song is called tapir's flown away and it's off the album 'charlie'.

  • I wouldn't really call these guys a straight noise band to begin with. They're more structured than freeform. They're pretty experimental though. If you don't like these guys you probably don't listen to a wide enough variety of music, because barre chords and poseurs get old quick.

  • definately, they are very talented musicians they dont just play and shit comes out, its deliberate and structured, and awesome. :)

  • Mike Patton has said that his music is too complex to be freeform, even when it sounds completly improved. I get the same feel from Melt Banana. It's too complex to be freeform. They always have method to their maddness.

  • shows what you know, being a Tool fan an all...

if you didn't like their music when you saw them, what are you doing watching their videos on youtube?

jeez, make up your mind man...

  • tool, fuckin overrated.

  • Fully awesome music. I love watching Agata on the guitar, he's just all over it!

Anyone who cant hear music in this has clearly been brainwashed by the likes of Greenday and Feeder. If that's the case, then stay the hell away! Seriously, I dont invade videos of your favourite band and go "OMG THIS IS SO FUCKING GENERIC!!!" Even though I always think it.

  • first of all fuck u who ever said this was bad man

  • I can't write a response that's less than 500 characters so I've split it up

    (3) Anyone of you slack-jawed nincompoops would be hardpressed to find a band that energetic. So shut up, jump in the mosh pit (as Melt-Banana is one of the only bands that can still generate a real pit), and start bloody enjoying yourselves!

  • I can't write a response that's less than 500 characters so I've split it up

    (2) Look you imbecilic sacks of feces, I'm not here to argue against the intelectualism of Tool, Melt-Banana might not by anywhere close in that arena, but they don't need to, it's not about that. Melt-Banana is fun.

  • I can't write a response that's less than 500 characters so I've split it up

    (1) You know, seeing Melt-Banana again would be almost worth dealing with all the asshole Tool fans. Tool is a pretty damn good band but it has the most dick head fans per capita than any in music history excluding Insane Clown Posse and any "christian hardcore/metal" band.

  • Will the Tool fags just fuck off? Stay on your own videos and make comments. Stop trolling. Don't like it, don't listen. Fuck I hate Tool.

  • You're a fucking tard

  • Noise is music! Your ear is trained poorly! You're the type of person who thought distorted guitars couldn't be music back when Link Wray first punched a hole in his amp!

  • noise is mylife conventional song structure is for pop culture...ps you guys obviously have never heard of discharge....noise not music

  • Ah, I see. You're making a somewhat oblique reference to the group Discharge in your statement "Noise not music." Why, if I may ask?

  • love them:D

  • i've been watchin all the live footage over the last few days and nearly every single video's been left comments by some bewildered toolheads. i heard of one guy who suffered a panic attack upon hearing them and was carted off to hospital... i'm laughing again, just thinking about it. strange support act for tool maybe, but good to see them getting some exposure. i'm sure they will gain lots of new listeners.

  • my friend has seen them live they suck their vocals are freakin messed up go back to japan1

  • I would die for seeing them live ;__;

  • Im a huge tool fan, BUT! I do like Melt Banana... there sound is so unique and creative i just feel like dancing and jumping around haha,, so please... dont say tht Tool fans are narrow minded.

  • Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, Tool sucks, and Melt-Banana rule. Also, Tool fans should realize these are comment boxes for MELT-BANANA. Not your gay little Tool band. Fucking trendies.

  • right because a band that sounds like shit and has nothing to say besides annoying screaming that no one can understand is better then a band who everyone knows and has somthing inteligent to say....go kill yourself your stupid, melt banana sucks, the only reason Tool would let a band like that open for them is because they always get shitty bands to open for them as a joke

  • And that "something intelligent" is PENIS PENIS PENIS LOL!!!11111 But really, Tool wrap themselves in phony intelligence and "experimentalism" to attract dipshit suburban teenagers.

  • yeah you should really learn somthing about the band before you comment on them, not one of their songs is about anything sexual,...sexual names yes, but thats not what the song is about...you obviously know nothing of the subject and it is impossible to argue with an idiot so...there is no point in talking to you, but i will say if you prefer this mind numbing noise over a band like Tool, well i rest my case

  • oh go bac to your church and play again on the organ for the fold of st. sheepish! please use especially the deepest registers with maximum impact until the whole crap collapses as described by william gaddis.

  • Yeah I agree with you, the previous guy should go kill himself. Tool is the greatest band in the world. BUt i disagree that Tool let's shitty bands open for them. That is completely untrue. Tomahawk, King Crimson, Mastodon, Isis..all amazing. Obviously Tool appreciates them very much and would like us to keep an open mind for other talented musicians.

  • OH my gosh, absolutely horrible! I saw them live...no talent whatsoever..tell me what is good about this band...liking them doesn't make you hardcore by the way...and different...makes you tonedeaf.

  • Fucking Tool fans. All metalheads are the same, narrow minded fucks. Try exposing yourselves to more styles of music then maybe you'd be ready to at least consider music like this

  • melt-banana live is so freaking fantastic; I just came back from the one in NYC. I LOOOVE agata!

  • Im sorry but this band is horrible

I just got back from a tool concert where they opened

And they came out and literally raped our ears for 30 mins

    I mean seriously WTF

    This is not music

  • im so so so glad i discovered this band

  • *is forever changed*

  • i want to marry him too

  • I think this would have to be my favorite song by them. Rock My Nuts Off!

  • ACE

  • wow, the guitar player is sick, i want to marry him.

  • Melt-Banana is just absolutely amazing, especially live. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • God they're amazing live- this video is awesome, but it's impossible to convey the wild, cathartic energy of actually being in the room. I haven't seen them for a year & a half now, and am craving their next US tour. If you haven't seen them live before, don't don't don't miss it the next time they crash through!

  • If anybody finds "Key is a fact that a cat brings" on video, I MUST see it.

  • best band live ever. i'll take them live over anybody but maybe slayer.

  • the song is called "Tapir's Flown Away"

  • The song is called "Tapir's Flown Away" off of the Charlie album. Delicious.

  • I saw these guys after they randomly came to my college and played the little campus center building... SO BADASS. I can't believe i missed them on tour with Fantomas! Gahh!!!

  • I first heard this band when they opened for Fantomas and have been hooked eversince great live show

  • This band is awesome, best live band I've seen.

  • Melt-Banana is awesome...

I'd kill a puppy to see them live

  • this video kick some ass even the black and white

  • i was lucky enough to have seen the sound check and have a very small conversation with rika in like 2004? in toronto and she seems really nice. someone did forget >:( awsome vid though

  • yea what is it called?

  • Does anyone know the name of this song?

  • The song's called "Tapir's Flown Away."

  • The song is 'Tapir's flown away' from the record 'charlie,' I believe.

  • Yeah!!! I seen them at the troubidor here in Los Angeles CA a few years ago ...it was everything I hoped it would be ....who ever filmed this though must have forgot rika was in the band lol she's in it for like 2 secounds

  • seen them 4 times and everytime is better than the last!

the very first time i saw them Agata-san had a theremin onstage!! they played the who's "my generation" as an encore and from that show on i have been a fan, they are truly awesome live. Rika's bass is just as intense as Agata's crazy guitar.

  • amazing. got to see this band live.

  • first time i saw them my ears rang for a week.

  • awesome... why does not anybody else post any coments here??? i saw them in cologne, germany and that was a fucking blast! melt banana forever!
