still odom is a great asset in terms of his natural length, he is usually faster then most big man he faces, and taller than most small forwards he faces...his only problem is when he run into forwards that can do what he does but better i.e. garnett, rasheed, dwight, west, boozer, stoudamire, bosh, aldrich, i.e. PLAYOFF FORWARDS etc especially in the playoffs when EVERYONE actually plays defense.
Lamar is just as talented as all of those players. It doesn't always show in his stats. He's too unselfish a lot of times. Lamar played well against Carlos Boozer last year in the playoffs.
i agree 100%, lamar is also not consistent in the season but i notice that he always steps his game up in the playoffs...lamar also needs to learn to calm himself down and focus when he goes to the basket, he tends to miss layups with contact.
i like odom, but you can see he is one dimensional he probably used his right hand ONCE in that whole video. force him right and anticipate the spin back to left or pull up with the left jumper and he is in a sense useless, besides rebounding..go lakers though!
Great point, but I did notice recently that he has started switching to the right sometimes. His jumper is better too. I noticed that the last time that LA played Boston.
his jumper is light switch..meaning either on or off, meaning very streaky at times...consistent enough though from the inside of the 3...and he can go right, of course, he would not be in the nba if he couldnt, but its one thing to be able to go to your right, and other thing to be able to go STRONG with your right..that he cant do comfortably...
see you can be right and wrong on this. yes he's using his left side more than the right, but more people use the right side to the left.
The fact that he using the opposite a lot makes it harder. Watch the video and you see know one is actually doing much when he gets to the rim. Your answer is still correct though.
I personally believe that Lamar is a very underrated player. He's very solid player, good offense and defense. I'm not saying he's the best, but he is generally underrated.
lamar is underrated. Josh Howard is BETTER than him. Josh Howard got selected into an all-star at least once. For lamar, I don't tik he will ever get his chance at the all-star. His performance is way too disappointing.

It always frustrates how Lamar Odom isn't a perennial all-star despite being so talented. He has the size of big-man and the handles of PG and yet he's just a complementary player. He could be so much more. At least he has ring.

i never understood why people wanted to trade lamar... they look at his point production and think he's not helping their team... look at the +/- at the end of the game... lamar can go +20...when he's on the floor, your team has a 20 point turnaround.

its nice to see him get recognized as a big part of this years championship. he got ripped for his play last year in the finals and i thought that was totally incorrect.
no other player in the league like him. that would SUCK if the Lakers lost him.

Yeah he does. Too bad I hate him though. I loved Odom as a rookie. I thought he was going to be the man to put the Clippers on the map. However, he's like Randy Moss. He'll only play hard and showcase his talent if he's on a winning team. I hate "professionals" like that.

Congrats Lamar for finally helping yourself and the team to an NBA title this season. You most definitely earned it. Hope the Lakers find a way to keep you around this offseason because when you play YOUR game, this team is virtually unstoppable (as was shown in the Finals against the Magic).

wel we can agree to disagree but he has all the physical tools to be great yet he rarely shows up to play. look at the effort he had in game 5. he never plays with that kind of effort an the lakers suffer sumtimes because of it.

He did say he would stay in LA and take less money. It shows that he likes winning. When Lamar plays well, Lakers usually dominate. He was the key to getting the Lakers their 15th NBA championship.

still odom is a great asset in terms of his natural length, he is usually faster then most big man he faces, and taller than most small forwards he faces...his only problem is when he run into forwards that can do what he does but better i.e. garnett, rasheed, dwight, west, boozer, stoudamire, bosh, aldrich, i.e. PLAYOFF FORWARDS etc especially in the playoffs when EVERYONE actually plays defense.

Lamar is just as talented as all of those players. It doesn't always show in his stats. He's too unselfish a lot of times. Lamar played well against Carlos Boozer last year in the playoffs.

i agree 100%, lamar is also not consistent in the season but i notice that he always steps his game up in the playoffs...lamar also needs to learn to calm himself down and focus when he goes to the basket, he tends to miss layups with contact.

i like odom, but you can see he is one dimensional he probably used his right hand ONCE in that whole video. force him right and anticipate the spin back to left or pull up with the left jumper and he is in a sense useless, besides rebounding..go lakers though!

Great point, but I did notice recently that he has started switching to the right sometimes. His jumper is better too. I noticed that the last time that LA played Boston.

his jumper is light switch..meaning either on or off, meaning very streaky at times...consistent enough though from the inside of the 3...and he can go right, of course, he would not be in the nba if he couldnt, but its one thing to be able to go to your right, and other thing to be able to go STRONG with your right..that he cant do comfortably...

see you can be right and wrong on this. yes he's using his left side more than the right, but more people use the right side to the left.
The fact that he using the opposite a lot makes it harder. Watch the video and you see know one is actually doing much when he gets to the rim. Your answer is still correct though.

I personally believe that Lamar is a very underrated player. He's very solid player, good offense and defense. I'm not saying he's the best, but he is generally underrated.

lamar is underrated. Josh Howard is BETTER than him. Josh Howard got selected into an all-star at least once. For lamar, I don't tik he will ever get his chance at the all-star. His performance is way too disappointing.
