@DaJacob95 I read the manual, but I'm not really one to resort to atheism. There are a lot of "christians" like you say that actually don't read the Bible, which is true, so technically Christianity may not even be the biggest religion because a lot of people "claim" to be one, so that's a good point. But there still are some good morals such as trying to treat everyone better. I think Religion is a choice, and it's not going to help if people try to be forceful about their beliefs onto others.

I'd say that religion can be bad, but it really depends on the person and the way one is influenced by it. My grandfather is a christian, but he's no die hard type; he loves his family regardless of what they believe in and gave his children free will to believe in what they want cause he never got that chance. He also believes that if you live as a regular person God will forgive you anyway. I like that idea.

The maker of this video does not realise that, although the Bible does not entirely seek to do away with the institution of slavery, it does at the least condemn "manstealing" i.e. kidnapping for the purpose of forced enslavement. If this were removed, there would be no slavery (aside from possibly debt-bondage, which is somewhat different). Nor does s/he consider that many Christians were influential in stopping the slave trade e.g. Newton, Wilberforce, even Wesley!

I'd say that religion can be bad, but it really depends on the person and the way one is influenced by it. My grandfather is a christian, but he's no die hard type; he loves his family regardless of what they believe in and gave his children free will to believe in what they want cause he never got that chance. He also believes that if you live as a regular person God will forgive you anyway. I like that idea.

The maker of this video does not realise that, although the Bible does not entirely seek to do away with the institution of slavery, it does at the least condemn "manstealing" i.e. kidnapping for the purpose of forced enslavement. If this were removed, there would be no slavery (aside from possibly debt-bondage, which is somewhat different). Nor does s/he consider that many Christians were influential in stopping the slave trade e.g. Newton, Wilberforce, even Wesley!

i'm not going to hell nor is there any reward in dying or trying to appease a magical being through blind devotion. There is no god.
The true reward, is living an honest, happy life and treating others as well as you want to be treated, and not forcing others to believe in things that I can't rationally prove to myself as being real.

I'd wager a good amount of money that I am morally better than many christians, especially ones who relish in the suffering of others "burning in hell for all eternity". You're whole belief is based on wishful thinking and fear. If you ever had a rational, objective thought you wouldnt know what to do with it anyway.

What do I do - I talk to real people i.e. my family and friends, rather than talking to a figment of my imagination, that acts as a comfort blanket which you pull over all truths in life you cant accept i.e. that all living things die, and there is no evidence or reason why you live on after your death. I will live on in the memories of my children. Im happy with that.
