  • He probably strained his voice to much, because that's what happens when you sing a lot like they do. Still I enjoyed every bit of this video and every bit of the song. Tenth Avenue North and The Afters are my favorite bands. Plus, every artist starts out off key until their voice adjusts to singing more, like in concerts. I tried the bridge, and it really isn't an easy one. . .

  • Great guys/ great group

  • Very inspirational song, beautiful!

  • love the vocals.

  • really love this song....just fab.:-)

  • /watch?v=_OobnNwlDCE

  • Tunwyzard, it's just not a big deal man. :) I love the band, I think they're great. Just didn't think it was that great of a live mix is all. Keep up the work though. It's a true talent to mix live to video. Take care and enjoy your Easter Sunday.

  • That song has such an awsome message.

  • I love this song! Awesome words and great singer. He sounds great live!

  • this is a very beautiful song... I wasn't paying attention to this song when I was searching for videos in the related videos but when i got to listen, wow, it's like God is really trying to talk to me...

to the band, thank you for living your life for Christ and inspiring us Christians to listen and look up to our God...(sniff)

  • i went to christain camp a couple weeks ago and these guys were the guest band all week, i got to hang out with them for 5 days and saw them preform 8 times in that week, they sounded amazing everytime and they are awesone to chill with

  • ohh wow ithat is so nice i wood of love to see them i love thear song thay are blssed by god / god bless you

  • oh thats sooo cool :)

  • i saw these guys llive and i love them alot. i cried at the concert and at thesse kind of things you can show your emotions. you can be yourself and believe in god he loves you for whoever you want to be

  • omg i am the biggest fan i listen to you all the time omg

  • i heard this song on 94.5 k love i love this song for real the chours is my favorite part

  • 94.5 k love the christian radio station by Ligonier PA?

  • The chorus is my favorite part too. I listen on the Fish 104.7 in Atlanta and the chorus is what grabbed me when I was listening passively one day driving home in traffic!

  • Beautiful

    Masha'Allah

  • well I think they sound fantastic. so there! Love this song!

  • oh wow i kno them!!! i saw them do a show in florida in 2005. at my uncles old church. it was amazing!!

  • wow some people say that christians can be the most judgemental people and most of the time its true..who cares about the pitch of his voice or the performance? If God is pleased and people lives are touched by these songs..nothing else matters....Let us be people that encourage with everything we say or do....we are all human and a guy that sings practical everyday is not going to sound perfect.. really disappointing.

  • in the beggining they are a little shaky but they get better.they just need to work on show performance.

  • You could be right on the mix. How you know exactly what he's recording it with may be off, but the bottom line is exactly what you said, it's the heart behind it. I certainly am not criticizing him at all. I must disagree with you though on the quality of the audio. It's not good at all. A mix off the board unless you have separate channels going on is always going to be sketchy at best. Whoever mixed this may just not be that gifted with the media is all. Props to the band, I love their music!

  • @DELangFBC , Jusy wanted to let you know: I know how it is recorded;because I recorded it .

  • For all of you who are putting down Mike's voice on this, listen up...the quality of the video is the real culprit, not his singing. It's a CAMCORDER! It also does not help that this guy sings every day of his life on tour. You will never get quality audio (via video) to compare to a CD) unless it's done professionally. Give them a break, they are an incredible band, and props for all they have done to get where they are.

  • I disagree with you,The audio was recorded from the board in stereo in 44.1 Sampling 16 bit , onto a digital recorder and synced up to the video. It is not camcorder audio. And listening the audio quality sounds great. He was off on parts; but that doesn,t give everyone the right to be a critic. He is doing something he loves for the best reason in the world, and He has a record contract. Do any of you critics out there???? Didn't think Soooo !!!!!

  • You can tell they edited his voice a lot for the CD, the band isn't very good either. The songs rock so deep wish the band was better live

  • did he just put 3 capos on there?!

  • LIVE! OH I LOVE THIS SONG & TAN!!!

  • Oh my goodness!! He has such a beautiful voice!! I love Tenth Avnue North's music!! Praise Jesus!! :)

  • Great song, he sings great and this song is awesome. Praise to Jesus who lives forevermore and who watches over us.

  • Well techincally speaking he sings

from his throat and you can really do damage on your vocal chords so after a while your voice gets way stressed and it sounds like this. but he's still good.

  • He must have been sick or something, I heard them live and he sounded great singing, or at least much better than this

  • wow! there is a big difference from the cd and live! but they are still VERY awesome!

  • i like the recording

  • This is a beautiful song and a touching performance. WTG Tenth Avenue North!

  • he's kinda off-key.... it sounds better on the radio. but overall it's a great song!

  • yeah it is lol... met him yesterday ?!?

  • ijust heard this for the 1st time last night at my youth meeting and i started crying

    i love it sooo much

    its sooo beautiful

  • lol song in the radio sound much more deeper ahah, which sounds alot better lol but its ok =p

  • Well... I did notice here that he goes a bit off key... I sing too and have a very well trained ear... but you know what?? God has talked to me using this guy and his songs lately, in a way that maybe I never heard Him before (I always speaks, we not always listen)... So, who cares if he is not a "pro" singing?? He has obviously put himself in the hands of God in order to be used... and He is using him...

  • well, me being a music major he does get off key a lil but who cares he is singing for the Glory of God. besides its not extremely bad he could be like "taylor swift" haha

  • they're blue notes. lol. heard them live here in Las Vegas this past Saturday (28 Mar 09). they weren't out of tune at all. OR....hey....maybe he had been listening to baroque that day and was tuned accordingly to period pitch on the bridge. it's also possible he was in such an attitude of worship, he was overcome by emotion and had a little trouble getting those high ones. i notice that happens to me at times. I do like your "taylor swift" hypothesis as well.

  • The drummer used to go to my church!! Jason Jamison!

  • ahhhh i LOVE them, and this song is so amazing!!!

  • this song sets my soul on fire

  • lol loving it!!!!! man it gets so super high

    lol so goodnesss

  • Amazing..

  • this song applys for life and general and my spiritual life....it rocks....

  • this song is absolute beauty

to skimmy: his voice sounds tired...perhaps he so wanted to deliver the message well that he practiced too hard?

  • What does it matter if someone sings off key, if there heart is singing to the LORD... listen to the heart, not the tone

  • Psalm 81:1Sing, in tune and measure, so that the public praise may be in harmony; sing with joyful notes, and sounds melodious. The role of the psalmist is well defined in the Bible. ... that the term of cantor underlines both serious musical training as well as spiritual leadership.

  • Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! - NIV version

Sing praises to God, our strength. Sing to the God of Jacob. - NLT version

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. - NKJ version

    need i say more?

he may be flat, but hes making a joyful noise that is gratifying and glorifying to God

  • that is not at all what psalm 81:1 says.... i have looked at 9 different versions so far that i have, and none of them say anything remotely close to that....also, that isnt at all what that verse is talking about... the verse is calling to sing to the lord, our strengh...it is telling us to sing to god...... its a poem of praise, not an instruction on how to do so.....its a poetic writing

plus, the dude isnt out of tune...neither is his guitar...and no one played a wrong measure anywhere

  • hey, man, ive looked that up - why do you care if its in tune? the bible says nowhere that you must be in tune to sing praise or worship. if i play a wrong chord this sunday, does that negate my worship? when my pastor snapped a string in the middle of "my savior my God" last sunday, did that make his song not worship? come on. youre being petty. ps rock on carolanne62 and jhoov1407

  • This is a wonderful song... It really makes you feel safe and lets you know that God will always be with you.

  • I love this song! Thanks for posting! To come up with these lyrics you have to be truly connected to God. I thought they sounded great. The lyrics are so powerful.

  • This song is about how Jesus loves us and we have an artist that connected to that. Praise God, cause he sings and its like mending a broken soul. I love it and we need more songs like this.

  • It does not matter if he is a tone off or a tone down. What really matters is he is singing a message of hope for those who believe in Jesus. God Bless you all :)

  • I thought it was switchfoot when i heard it on the radio also

  • I thought this was Switchfoot.

  • I think he sounds awesome.

  • quit being such critics he probably had a long day and that's why he was off tone but there's no reason to be critics i don't expect U to sing perfectly all the time . . .

  • Honestly you guys should really re read what you said and how stupid it sounded. This guy is doing what he loves and honoring God. So who really cares if he was off. Because God sure doesnt this guy is praising God thats all he asks of us not to sound good doing it.

  • youre absolutely right. the message of the song is more important than the quality of his voice. does everybody expect him to be a perfect singer? seriously think about it

  • @dannybaseball45 ...and not just honoring God but sharing the gospel message! Go Mike! Go Tenth Ave North! May the Lord bless and keep you and bring you peace!

  • i give it ALL to YOU JESUS.....

  • The first time I heard this song... I fell completely in love with it. I believe that for many of us beings on earth that are in search of that god-shaped hole to fill us when all we really need is the love of Jesus Christ. God's love is amazing.

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!! I would've loved to have seen this performance!

    (couldn't disagree with drummerguydavid more!)

  • This an awesome song!!! Very Annointed!!!

    God Bless these guys! Thanks!

  • I love the song, but he sounds really nervous and he goes off key in the bridge. But they did a good job other than that. thanks for the upload.

  • I think his voice is out, it doesn't sound like his voice was in shape at the time. Kind of like he mustve used his voice too much before this song. I think there are just tad bit off notes, almost unnoticeable. But either way the song is great.

  • Yeah it still sounds good, but my ears are really picky so even a slight sharp or flat note sticks out a lot for me. But it happens to the best of us, so I can't complain too much. And usually live versions of songs are not as good as studio, so you can't expect perfection all the time. :)

  • Right :) If you study music you might be like that, as I study. Especially if you record vocals often you will be able to notice pretty good

  • yeah I'm in band at school and have been into music for a good 7 years. I'm by no means a pro or at all as good as Tenth Ave. North, but I can pick out a wrong note pretty easily. :)

  • yep, experience talks bud! I also know from experience, when you are sick you will almost always go off... at least thats what i notice of my self, being sick and trying to sing makes it so hard to keep a note. another possibility is when you aren't able to hear your own voice, you may go off too.

  • too true. i'm not a good singer imo. I can hit notes mostly dead on but I don't like my voice.

I also notice when I wake up for about an hour I can't control my voice except on lower notes, and the same thing when I'm sick.

Another thing that bothers me is my guitar b/c it goes out of tune easily. it happens in the middle of playing and I can't just stop & tune so I have to do quick bends. That's why I also play drums lol. I should probably get my guitar fixed up though.

  • lol i couldn't agree with youy more man, waking up needs like 1 hour before singing. u are right on

  • God bless you Mike
