I have 2 rainbow lorikeets but i would never want to breed!! and handraise i would have no clue and id be stressing so much that im doing it wrong and its just going to die D:
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Your Nikki is a Pisces bird so I bet she really likes her baths. I will post a new video of Mr Peepers taking a bath. They are such cool little lunatics - so much fun to watch and interact with. I think they are the smartest of birds. Two of my lory's will double team my big cat Marley - one in front of him distracting him while the other darts in to nip his tail.
Love your video. Mr. Peepers is adorable! I have a green naped lory named Nikki and she is two yrs. old. Her birthday is March 12, 2008. Lorys are such wonderful, affectionate birds. Thanks for your video!
They eat every two hours or so. I used one teaspoon of exact baby formula, one teaspoon of applesauce and 1 teaspoon of water. The formula must be warm, not hot, or they won't eat it. Don't use a syringe - just a bent baby spoon works great - they are the easiest birds of all to fee. Let me know if you need more information.
not many people know about how cool Lory's are - so glad you enjoyed it. If you are the only person who viewed it and got something out of it, then it is well worth it.
I did during the first two weeks - I took him with me in a small cat carrier case with a heating pad under it. Unless they are eating or wet, they sleep in between feedings. I used cut up disposable diapers in his buttercup during the first two weeks to absorb his quite liquid droppings. Since Lorys are born all year round, you might try to get one when your schedule is the least crowded. Mr Peepers was born in mid-August during my slowest time of the year.
From day 1 - 15 it is every 2 hours or so. They will tell you when they are hungry. They are the easiest birds to hand rear - no syringe, just a bent baby spoon and they suck it down gleefully. I used Exact Baby food, with water and applesauce, but you can use Nekton Lory Food from day 1. If you have any questions or need help, let me know.

You'll be able to tell when they are full - their little crop bulges out on both sides.
