I am from Oklahoma the reason we have wildlife roaming around our cities and streets is because some of the area is backwoods mountainous area we do have alot critter roaming around our area!
The right thing? A raccoon ripped the wires off my alternator on my big truck and I was stranded because my batteries went dead. He also left a calling card by taking a big dump on top of the engine so the mechanic could charge me extra for the smell. Do yourself a favor next time and do the right thing.
@perryfan10 hahahah I'm sorry that you're so pissed about an animal that didn't know any better. Its not like he did it as a fuck you to you, he didn't know that was your means of getting from point to point, he just saw a wire, thought what does this do? and did what comes naturally to him. Coons are smart and they like getting into things. I'm sorry about your truck, but thats what happens when you live where animals do.
@FiestyCat86 I lived right down in the city when I was young and I'd see raccoons running across the streets every morning riding my bike to work. This week they have been giving the dog fits by eating her dog food when she isn't watching.
@perryfan10 Thats funny, your poor dog is probably going out of her mind though. But they are opportunists, and we build where they live, and they have to eat something. It takes alot of smarts to do what they do, I respect them more than anything. Also i was reading the comment I left and it sounded really kinda condescending, I'm sorry about that, I was laughing as I wrote it, not meaning to be rude. But did the mechanic really make you pay for the smell? Thats kinda dumb...lolz
@FiestyCat86 No/ The mechanic just took advantage a bit because I was stranded which is normal. I had a pet raccoon as a kid ( brothers shot the mother hunting so I wasn't hugging any trees). I would take it for walks on a leash and we would get free ice cream cones from the local soft ice cream place. He was happy until he began a teenager when he just ripped his cage open and took off looking for love.
yeah they get nasty when they get to that age, we had coons when I was a kid, and we loved them to death, but once they got old enough to leave they started biting and getting mean, so we turned them loose. We kept feeding them though, because we didn't want them to starve. We hadn't taught them to look for wild food so we kinda felt responsible for taking care of them. They came around up until the day we had to move. Told the new owners of the house that they were pets, so they took over.
@FiestyCat86 Our dog will watch bunny rabbits hop by and not even blink but if she sees a raccoon, she's not happy until it's dead. Bit of a problem that my favourite cat is the same color as a raccoon.
@rcbrosch I grew up in the country as well, but any animal including the human species will attack if provoked. Not all wild animals are "rabid" or dangerous. Most animals will leave us alone, they don't provoke humans, unless they are in danger. Mom may have gone off to forage or they got lost. If mom was around she might of defended her children and that's normal.
My friend, and I mean no disrespect, you must realize most undomesticated animals are not always cuddly and cute. Let them live their life w/o bringing them into our homes. No, I didn't say ALL animals are rabid. Raccoons are suspect. PITA is angry that Obama killed a FLY.
that's totally ok...I just know they would have screamed if you got that wrong...though I believe in a lot that they stand for, just not how they were upset over a disgusting house fly...
Most DO realize, not all animals are "cute" & "cuddly" some are ugly but they're still "cute," domestic or not. There's a bigger message. I fail to understand what killing a fly has to do with Racoons. Some cultures in the US see killing without regard as being wrong. People need to teach respect or we'll continue being a society of killers. That's the bigger message. Agreed. Wild animals should remain in the wild, and people should take precautions. I think he was wearing gloves?
@rcbrosch you keep replying to my posts that have no relevance to the video [i'm getting reply messages] My first post was regarding your first post about this video. As I stated before I grew up in the country around both wild and domestic animals, with plenty of knowledge of all kinds animals. So, I don't think I stuck my head in without having a clue.
Raccoons can rip you open. Their small, but take it from a boy brought up in the country, they can be rabid and dangerous. It seems suspicious "mother" isn't around.
Aww....if only we could have more men like the animal whisperer guy roaming the planet....he renews MY faith in mankind. I hope the little ones have long life in racoon years.
Totally agree! All wildlife wants is shelter, food and water! Nice to see that some one was willing to take care and put them in a safer place. All life should be treated with the same regard.

The cartoon movie Over the Hedge starts with a frustrated R. J. Raccoon trying to get one solitary bag of chips from a huge vending machine...

no reason to make em into ferocious villians though. ANY animal can and will defend itself if bothered or threatened.
if they feel no threat, they're quite friendly.
