  • I drive part of the route to school everyday.

  • Comment removed

  • Next Time you in Cali you should go check out the CA 74 Ortega Highway Nice Drive

  • I drive the I-5 everyday. Good freeway.

  • Try living next to the El Toro Y... FUUU

  • i saw ontario on license plate ahhahaha which is where I live lol pretty random and rare to see ontario in california

  • 4:25 scared the crap outta me

  • Great editing and resolution. Really enjoyed the stop-and-go brakelights at the end.

  • Lets clarify here man, your right in terms of number of lanes used 1-10 26, 401, 22. But in terms of width and shoulder lanes 401 beats the katy.

  • @Universal1011 i would be able to agree with you on one factor that the 401 is the busiest frwy in the world. possibly the widest for the shear amount of km/miles. ?

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Well in terms of number of lanes used, yes I can def agree as well. 1-10 has more But in width from point A to point B, just a pavement of road this one section of the 401 is massively wide.

  • awsome video. The only freeway that I can think of that has a possibility of overtaking the 1-5 is the 401 in Toronto. In terms of width and volume of traffic.

  • @Universal1011 you might wanna take a look at Houston, TX Katy Freeway . . there is no comparison on the face of the planet to that freeway. it makes the I-5 in orange county and the 401 look like a POS . BTW the katy freeway has the widest section of a single freeway in the world at 26 lanes . if you count frontage lanes it exceeds over 32 in areas.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Same story with the 401, of course we have shoulder lanes which that exceeds over 32 as well at some points. The Katy 1-10 would be the second widest freeway in the world.

  • @Universal1011 . the maximum number of continous lanes the 401 has is 20 5x5x5x5 . counting the ramps of a interchange after it leaves the 401 DOES NOT COUNT in determining its widest section. the 401 is imo the 3rd widest behind this freeway and katy

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 well I respect your opionion. But the ramps are part of the 401 and its over 30 lanes including shoulders . To be honest I wouldnt classify it much of a ramp.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2

@ 4:32 I can see the car's reflection in the tailgate of that truck. Looks to be a white or silver mustang... am I correct?

  • @casinotriple i guess you could call it light silver, and yes Mustang.

  • Through Orange County the 5 is a monster freeway. Now the 5 from the L.A county line up to downtown L.A needs to catch up with this; its only 6 lanes divided!

  • coincidence that @ 4:20 it appears as a near collision ??? ::coughs kush smoke::. thanks for showing footage of my shitty towns freeways Santa Ana woop woop

  • @oc714dub i disagree with your statement , this is not a shitty freeway . i tell you what i have seen americas biggest and better designed freeways for traffic pushing 300-400k . and this ranks number 3 out of about 10 of the finest freeways in amercia. 4:20 was a video speed increas from normal to about twice as fast due to traffic congestion which gave that kinda feeling of a collision . b ut i assure it was from form it im pretty experienced for my age.

  • yeah! this is Cali!!!

  • *blink*

    26 lanes, holy geez...

Widest freeway I've ever been on was only ten lanes wide (US 50 just east of DC), but... with that traffic, clearly more lanes is not a good solution. I wonder if Interstate 10: Katy Freeway has the same problems now that it's been upgraded to the monster it is.

  • Very nice video and great music. I think Deadmau5 needs to be in some of the Ontario videos as that is where he is from. Maybe I'll make one on Hwy 401 next time I drive down to Toronto. I live in Northern Ontario where freeways don't exist.

  • LOL now ur stuck in Traffic :D

  • @MyRAWNerves ya , but it wasnt bad considering the time of 3-4pm on a friday

  • Surprised you didn't end it by san juan capistrano

  • 4:25 scared me! lol

  • 2:27 Borg Cube!

  • @Domcrad i work there! its the discovery science center

  • 1:28, CHP pulls over someody ROFL!

  • @cjthenoisemaker lol , ya i seen alot of that when i was there .

  • The funny thing I learned about Southland fwys when I lived there is just cause you can get off a fwy at a street doesn't exactly mean u can get back on right away. I miss u, LA!

  • haha maaan i love the MUSIC!! Great vid!!

  • Just yesterday I went through I-5 from CA-57 south. If you would have gone a little further towards San Diego... you would see Crown Valley Phwy.. the street that I live... !!!

  • Awesome vid!!...These highways ,I lose count of the number of lanes....WoW!! aircraft runways...

    Thanks for uploading this!!...

  • love the music! the main difference between california freeways and texas freeways is that in california they dont have feeder roads its mostly above or below grade, but in texas they have those massive interchanges.

  • @mfastx Putting a texan anywhere without there frontage roads . doesnt do quite to well . i was kinda aware of the fact well before had , but had a little trouble finding entrances to freeways . but over i give california a excellent grade on there system . totally unique

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 California is an oddball with freeways too. A lot of their freeway ramps dump off onto side streets which function as backage roads. From those side streets, you're usually guided to the main street that was on the exit sign. This isn't an issue if you're exiting from the freeway, but finding the correct entrance ramp from most major streets is a nightmare because you have to find the street that has the entrance ramp, and the signs aren't always clear.

  • sure.....

  • 2:07 16 lanes.

Many socal freeways could use some Texas-style modernization, but I-5 looks pretty awesome in this area (it's much worse further north).

  • MOAR!!!

  • favorited! I love it! Keep these up fam. It would be killer if you could get one of these during the cali sunset hours. I know there would be killer traffic though.

  • awesome video. favorite*

  • Good to see another So Cal video. I know firsthand that, "The 5" can be a real bitch though.

Here's a trick I learned (whether you're heading north or south) stay to the right that way you won't miss the truck bypass lanes.

Use them to your advantage, it does save time rather than crawling along in the general lanes.
