the t-rex 500 kit is as much as the swift 16 RTF version... comes w/ 2.4ghz radio, 4s pack, motor, esc, bec, all you godda do is charge and fly. im thinking about getting one myself. you cant beat a known heli rtf package for $600...
this heli is cheaper in contrast to the t-rex 500. crashes are cheaper, ive got one on order through tower hobbies. RTF is only $600 compared to $550 for just a t-rex 500 kit.
I was in your position before I bought my 550, for starters, your getting a MUCH bigger heli for the same ammount of money, only difference is in lipo price.
The swift 550 uses 550mm blades, where as the Trex 500 only uses 425mm blades, size makes a hell of a difference in this hobby, I chose the swift and couldn't of been happyer :)
Quite impressive. I know it's a massive bird, but just how big is it? Are there any T-Rex's that can compare? I'm thinkin about buying this chopper sometime in the future.
the t-rex 500 is the exact same size heli. both fly up to 6s lipo packs, use 550mm main blades, hs 81 size cyclic servos. you can get a swift 16 RTF for the same price as a t-rex 500 kit, but you dont get all of the aluminum upgrades w/ the swift as you do the t-rex
Im impresed!!! I was going to buy a swift, but so many people sold theres and the videos of the swift 16's were so disappointing but this this defentley changes my mind of the swift line up. I guess it just needed some more power....
Never mind you didn't fly this thing. You did very good job on tracking it from the hand. Helis are very hard to follow since they can go any direction abruptly.
Thinking about buying a TREX 500 here. Can anybody give me a reason why this might be a better choice?

The swift 550 uses 550mm blades where the t-rex 500 uses 425mm the swift is alot more stable.

The T-Rex 500 uses 425 blades, so no, it is not similar in size at all. The closest thing would be a T-Rex 600 in size.
