I would picture rip tides more as a small line of water going out to sea, and rip currents more of a whole section of water going to sea that lasts longer than a rip tide, but both are the same, and you can excape them the same way, by swimming parallel to the beach to get out of it, do not try to go against it, unless you are coby brian, you will lose, their also is a way to see them.
