The stars aligned I went from a best time of 19.128 to 17.917 randomly. I just managed to go through all the cones without braking and the car didn't drift which was different than the first 40 million times on the Dual Shock 3
wide open through the first 4 cones not including the starting cones. After that tap the brake at each cone until the 2nd to last one and gun it. Braking on the turns is what works as I got it on my 2nd try. I've spent months trying to figure out this stupid license.

Here's my tip guys. I started flat out on the first couple of cones...before I reached to the X marker i slowed down by giving the car 30% throttle, then went up to 80% throttle after passing a cone, then back to 30%, I can control the car like that and still carry enough speed. I gave full throttle again at the cones before the very last one. my speed after the X mark was 125-130kph. My personal setting was: AT, AS=MILD,ABS=7 SENSITIVITY=7.keep trying and be calm, throttle control is key
Did it! Finally!!!!!! 18.438!!! For DS3 owners this worked for me: accelerate up to the point where the black X is on the ground, hit the brake while holding down gas, release and accelerate through the rest of the cones to stabilise the car to the finish.
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, this has taken me days to gold, I'm using ds3, setting abs 10 and strong active steering, fastest way I have found to beat thus is flat out and Tap brake inbetween codes.,.. Not hold just tap don't let go of accelerator. PSn is the_rymeister

FUCKING FINALLY! NEVER EVER GONNA DO THIS SHIT LICENSE AGAIN! This is has to be the most infuriating licens test of them all. It's so reliant on pure luck with not getting DQ'ed for not hitting a friggin cone.
Start wide in the first few slaloms, then narrow down as you get to about 77 mph (125 kph) and hold it there until you go through the second to last set of cones, then floor it.
Some tips for all you struggling to Gold this with a DS3:
Don't accelerate until the 3-2-1 countdown says 1. Gives you a faster start than just revving away.
Keep the accelerator fully down the whole way, just dab the brake before you go through each set of cones (you don't need to touch the brakes for the first 2 or 3 sets of cones though)
Settings: default apart from Strong Active Steering and 7 Controller sensitivity.

omg i was going great, i really thought i had it, i drove straight through the middle of the last cones, and somehow i managed to hit a cone, now i threw away my controller and its broken...
Final license, took about 1 hour. ABS 9 and mild active steering. Full throttle throughout and light breaking in the middle to keep speed between 125-130
After finally getting gold on all licenses I can safely say that this was one of the hardest tests. The centre of gravity of this car is shocking when you turn, the trick is to not turn sharply or you'll start to spin out. If you're reading this you're probably stuck, well good luck to you then.

All of the comments on help on here were very very helpful. I tried MT for a bit but found that to be cumbersome with timing when to shift so that you don't lose any speed. Holding X plus tapping square is the key, and tapping square EARLY in order to position yourself for the next set of cones. To anyone that is still struggling, keep at it, you will get it eventually. Rhythm and practice.
Not every person has 5 years to get 1000+ cars either. buck up and quit your crying. Here's a thought; why don't you cry about it and rub your tears on the Disc and see if that helps. I'm so close, 59 Gold and this one to go. best effort 18.633 :-(

The first 4 cones with full throttle. Then just hit the throttle when the car is going staight, when you are cornering a cone don't throttle or just half throttle.

I spent a good 45 mins struggling on this and only managed 1 silver, then out of the blue I nailed a 18.360 from nowhere.
In terms of advice, I'd suggest you use a wheel if you can, if not just try to be really gentle with the analogue stick. I found I accelerated when moving in a straight line over to the left, then released the gas as I turned to the right, making a rhythmic movement.

I don't have a wheel, and for me this was gold number 60 of 60. It felt almost impossible. I had originally tried for almost an hour before giving up. A week or two later, I tried again, and finally managed it.
The trick is to accelerate when going straight, lift off BEFORE turning, turn, accelerate when straight again. NEVER lift off while turning; the car has horrible lift-off oversteer.
Well I just tried that in this test, but I don't think the ABS matters because I didn't break that much. Using mild active steering and manual gears are more important.
god it took me an hour and a half. I got 18.381. Best advice, use mild active steering and abs at 1. Hold down accelerator till 4 cone, then drift through the next two and then slowly apply everything the car can offer.
My tip is to watch the demo video. Take note on how the AI uses the throttle. After about the 3 (or 4th if you want to push it) set of cones, release the throttle for half a second and turn the wheel. This allows you to turn sharper, and as soon as you are pointing the right direction, let it rip.
TL;DR: Release throttle as soon as you pass a set of cones(third or more). Then steer. Then add gas.
i finally nailed this just now, as well as reiterating the tips about outside view (i always use internal but it definitely helps here) and when to ease off the throttle, my personal tip is to ensure you have the best possible start. use the ghost car and you'll see just what a difference a good start makes, i was hovering at about 6000rpm before punching it when the challenge started and the start alone is worth a good tenth of a second over a bad one.
Nice, only took me about 15 minutes.....and got an 18.154.
This one is weird. You can watch the vid, but I really couldn't learn much from it. This challenge is all about feel. I will say, the key to this for me is keeping on the gas up to the third set of cones, and then easing up a little through the fourth and fifth. This should give you enough to finish strong without weaving the car too much.
Just got this a minute ago. Must have had over 500 attempts all on automatic and best I could manage was 19.064. Switched to manual gears and within 5 tries did it in 18.376. Skipping 3rd and going staight into 4th makes it much easier to keep the car steady. Thats all 60 golds now!
Finally got this done. I was literally sticking the finger at it when i finished it :p. My advice, once you reach 120 km/h, tap the accelerator wheb exiting a cone.
@1970ChevyChevelleFan I got desperate too...my best mark is 0:18.542, thinking on it, to achieve the gold you need 0:18.500.....a diference of .042 of second....considering that Im not very skilled it's a good mark, but I admit I felt like the worst piece of trash because of failing jajajajaja
Managed to achieve gold 10 minutes after watching this video.
Use your analog stick. Once you hit 120 km/h, keep it steady at that speed (122, 123) using the stick. You will notice that if you don't accelerate, the car will behave more stable.
I see you perfectly handle the throttle, which is difficult using a Sixaxis. I think PD made this license so hard (almost impossible to achieve using a controller) to force people to buy a 500 euro steering wheel. I will give it a few more tries, but still: making a game which cannot be played as it should (by 99% of the users) using the standard PS3 controller is sad... very sad.
@Lidelo I did it with a DS3. Granted I passed by the skin of my teeth (18.488) but its still doable. Use strong active steering and put controller sensitivity at 7. Pass exactly 4 cones ( not including start) and then lightly tap brakes at each cone until the third one from last.
Thank you! With your help I was able to get 18.314 using a DS3 analog stick and R2 as a gas, but I also changed quite quickly from 4th gear to 5th so I was in 5th gear before driving over the big X in the ground.
That gave me some extra speed, but I had to drop down to 4th gear right after the 3rd last cones in order to gain more speed at the end.
If someone still has trouble with this, I will tell my Settings, they might help:

@madstanwan The aim of the tests is to get bronze (or silver) and move on to the next one which is fairly easy to do. Getting gold on the tests should be exponentially harder so that only those who put in the time should achieve gold.
@GamingStylez Dude, how did you manage to keep your car at a certain speed like that? Did you use the Right Analog to control the Throttle and Brakes?
@spidermancj it took me 24 times and i got a time of 18,274 , just mak sure to get in the car and look at the gaces ,. this are the sides of the car and just dont brake just leave off the gass after 4 poins every poins a bit of a pause .

@madstanwan I struggled with this one initially, the key is to not lift off the accelerator at all - instead dab the brake as you pass each cone which gives you momentary control to turn the car without losing control. Flat out the finish. After trying that approach I managed in 5 attempts with a 18.263. Manual gears/R2 throttle and active steering strong

PD already made a huge mistake making all the A-Spec races easy as hell in order to satisify people like you. What more do you want, gold medals just for effort?

I spent a good 45 mins struggling on this and only managed 1 silver, then out of the blue I nailed a 18.360 from nowhere.
In terms of advice, I'd suggest you use a wheel if you can, if not just try to be really gentle with the analogue stick. I found I accelerated when moving in a straight line over to the left, then released the gas as I turned to the right, making a rhythmic movement.

I don't have a wheel, and for me this was gold number 60 of 60. It felt almost impossible. I had originally tried for almost an hour before giving up. A week or two later, I tried again, and finally managed it.
The trick is to accelerate when going straight, lift off BEFORE turning, turn, accelerate when straight again. NEVER lift off while turning; the car has horrible lift-off oversteer.

god it took me an hour and a half. I got 18.381. Best advice, use mild active steering and abs at 1. Hold down accelerator till 4 cone, then drift through the next two and then slowly apply everything the car can offer.

My tip is to watch the demo video. Take note on how the AI uses the throttle. After about the 3 (or 4th if you want to push it) set of cones, release the throttle for half a second and turn the wheel. This allows you to turn sharper, and as soon as you are pointing the right direction, let it rip.
TL;DR: Release throttle as soon as you pass a set of cones(third or more). Then steer. Then add gas.

i finally nailed this just now, as well as reiterating the tips about outside view (i always use internal but it definitely helps here) and when to ease off the throttle, my personal tip is to ensure you have the best possible start. use the ghost car and you'll see just what a difference a good start makes, i was hovering at about 6000rpm before punching it when the challenge started and the start alone is worth a good tenth of a second over a bad one.

Nice, only took me about 15 minutes.....and got an 18.154.
This one is weird. You can watch the vid, but I really couldn't learn much from it. This challenge is all about feel. I will say, the key to this for me is keeping on the gas up to the third set of cones, and then easing up a little through the fourth and fifth. This should give you enough to finish strong without weaving the car too much.

Just got this a minute ago. Must have had over 500 attempts all on automatic and best I could manage was 19.064. Switched to manual gears and within 5 tries did it in 18.376. Skipping 3rd and going staight into 4th makes it much easier to keep the car steady. Thats all 60 golds now!

Managed to achieve gold 10 minutes after watching this video.
Use your analog stick. Once you hit 120 km/h, keep it steady at that speed (122, 123) using the stick. You will notice that if you don't accelerate, the car will behave more stable.

I see you perfectly handle the throttle, which is difficult using a Sixaxis. I think PD made this license so hard (almost impossible to achieve using a controller) to force people to buy a 500 euro steering wheel. I will give it a few more tries, but still: making a game which cannot be played as it should (by 99% of the users) using the standard PS3 controller is sad... very sad.

@Lidelo I did it with a DS3. Granted I passed by the skin of my teeth (18.488) but its still doable. Use strong active steering and put controller sensitivity at 7. Pass exactly 4 cones ( not including start) and then lightly tap brakes at each cone until the third one from last.

Thank you! With your help I was able to get 18.314 using a DS3 analog stick and R2 as a gas, but I also changed quite quickly from 4th gear to 5th so I was in 5th gear before driving over the big X in the ground.
That gave me some extra speed, but I had to drop down to 4th gear right after the 3rd last cones in order to gain more speed at the end.
If someone still has trouble with this, I will tell my Settings, they might help:

I'm struggling to even get silver here, this test is the prime example of all examples as to why this game wasen't thought out properly.

@madstanwan I struggled with this one initially, the key is to not lift off the accelerator at all - instead dab the brake as you pass each cone which gives you momentary control to turn the car without losing control. Flat out the finish. After trying that approach I managed in 5 attempts with a 18.263. Manual gears/R2 throttle and active steering strong
