That kinda negates your point. We're omnivores, simple as that. Meat allowed us to evolve because it contained enough energy to sustain the development of a larger brain.

@dunesw64 I once thought the same, but the appendix is necessary for digesting the cellulose of vegetation: roots, stems, leaves. We've evolved to the point where we don't consume those parts of the plant anymore and now use the cellulose as our main source of fiber. That's why the appendix has been shrinking thru the generations and will eventually disappear. Unfortunately for you the rest of the digestive system has not evolved as fast as the western diet (animal products) has. Hit the books

What do fangs matter? We have incisors and canines. Observe what humans eat in general compared to other animals. Our food is actually cooked. Could pertain to longer digestive tract. As well as the fact that we are more cognitive creatures, therefore more complex in general compared to other animals. As for the puckered anus, it's a sphincter. Two in the stomach, why not at the rectum?
