You'd think the number 1 reason for broken relatioship would be infidelity or money but personally I know it to be lack of communication ! A simple peck on the cheek says so much more than words ! If you really wanna save yourself from heartbreak get on the right track a give that person that means the most too your HEART a warm kiss . Don't let it go too bad before it's too late ....:
Tom hasnt wrote a song that i havent liked really. Hes an excellent song writer and hes got Mike Campbell to lay down the lead licks that are just great. There are only a few bands that have suceeded in the music business 30 plus years. Thanks for all your years of great song's Tom and the Heratbreakers !
I Love tom petty:D<3 soo amazing him and his band! really wish i could just time travel back to see this concert or to meet them...aahhh i can only dream </3
Tom Petty reminds me of a guy who mugged me in New York one time with a .357 Magnum revolver. But I've never blame it on him...YOU'RE ALWAYS, OH, SO COOL, TOM!!!
Man, he was one hell of a driver too. No wait that was Richard. I love this original MTV video for this song. I would watch it everyday before I got on the bus in elementary. great classic song to this day 2011.
It is so funny how all these loud mouth athletes talk so much crap and aren't even that spectacular when compared with Mike Cambell. He is so quiet and lets all his fingers do the talking. What a player that guy is.
@PicciProductions I think it's so great that people like you, folks who are only 15, appreciate Tom Petty and recognize his greatness. And yeah, it's too bad you weren't able to see him like I did back when his star was first ascending in the late '70's. I saw him first in August of '79, playing at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A. for a crowd of 6,000. It was a revelation; it was like seeing a birth, the birth, the beginning of greatness. I saw him that New Year's Eve in San Francisco.
@TVC15ohoh Im 14 and I've seen him in concert, It is too bad that I couldnt see him in the 80's or 70's. I love Tom Petty and wont stop loving his music. Rock and Roll!!
@haden267 Very cool. Your home page says you're 28. Either way, whatever your age, I'm glad you like Petty, though if you are in fact 14, I'd have to add that that impresses me. Only 14 and on to Petty? Good job! Feel free to talk music with me or ask for recommendations/opinions on artists/bands/albums/songs - I'm a blabbermouth and love yacking about music, and I'm all too happy to turn you on to any number of musics out there. Will you be seeing Petty on his current tour?
@TVC15ohoh I've loved bands like Van Halen, Rush, KISS, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, and Ozzy since I was eleven. I love talking about rock and roll. I collect Vinyl Records of all 70's and 80's classic rock bands.
@haden267 Well well. Quite the music man, you are. Eleven was the age I officially got into "real music" as opposed to children's albums, or The Monkees (know who they are?) and that very first album I owned was a rather good one I must say: "Revolver" by the Beatles. Rolling Stone magazine did a "Top 500 albums of all time" thing a few years ago and Revolver came in third! (Sgt Pepper was, of course, number one, as it deserves to be.) Have you discovered Led Zeppelin yet? Bowie? The Stones?
@TVC15ohoh i know who the monkees are, i hear em on radio sometime- im a believer!! oh my god do i love led zeppelin i cant even have a fav song. bowie is aweosme i mean he was MARC BOLANS FRIEND how cool is that. the stones i have their t-shirts, age doesnt affect mcjagger!!! dude if u live in LA u should check out thesoundla 100.3 fm i listen to them everyday, they play beatles, stones, floyd, led, bob seger everyday
@ixcreme Thanks for the radio tip. I do indeed have 100.3 set on my radio dial and yeah, for older stuff, it's one of my favorites. We used to have a radio station here called "Indie 103" (103.1 on the FM dial) and they were the best radio station in at least 20 years, after KROQ's '80's heyday. The DJ's were allowed to play anything they wanted - anything - just like rock radio in the '70's, and man, I heard EVERYTHING there, from Sinatra to the Sex Pistols. Amazing station. They're gone now.
@PicciProductions This is part two. By New Year's Eve, the audience size was 15,000+. And who opened for him at that show? Chuck Berry! And even then, over 20 years past his heyday, Berry ROCKED! Petty did a lot of touring in the early '80's and I saw him twice in L.A., in 1980 and in '81 at the Forum. Some of those songs are on his Live Anthology Box Set, something every Petty fan MUST own. Petty's had waves of greatness and he's in one now. Do see him during this tour. Mojo's GREAT!
@TVC15ohoh Yes, today I bought the Runnin Down A Dream documentary, I've already seen it but it's amazing. I saw that Live Anthology Box Set but I didn;t have enough money for it! When I get a job that is a must have for me.
@PicciProductions Well, you can get 80% of the songs that are part of the Live Anthology Box Set if you just buy the regular Live Anthology four CD set. That sells for all of $20. When you have the money to burn later, THEN spend the big bucks and get the box set. Also, as I'm sure you know, MOJO comes out June 15th. Best Buy's got it on sale for $9.99 this week. I tried writing you on your home page about all this but it seems you're not set up for that. What gives?
Too bad I was only 4 years old when this came out...I've seen Petty 5 times live and I've never seen him play this live...which is too bad. This is one of my favorite Petty songs.
same here man. I have seen Tom 4 times and not once has he played this song. Always been one of my favorites also. I was fortunate to hear face in the crowd and rebels at the Gorge in 08 and insider and stop draggin my heart around with stevie nicks. so i guess im not going to complain lol.
Campbell is one of the most unique guitarists ever. His solos are so fucking amazing you can feel the emotion behind every note. No better combination than Mike's guitar and Tom's voice.

@neorunt Humankind got lucky that he didn't let his dad talk him out of being in a band when he was younger. His dad resented him and beat on him for "being artsy" ... which is a great lesson for parents who don't approve their child's passions. you never know what you might be squashing.
God he is so amazing...ive never had the connection to any music like I have with tom petty. He is in my opinion the greatest song writer of all time. Campbell is to Petty as The Edge is to U2... both lead guitarists have their own distinct way of playing and their own distinct sound which characterizes thier respective groups.
SRVvelvetslash.. shut up. Tom Petty is the man, the shit, the most amazing music artist to ever walk this earth. So don't bash on his guitars because the guitar he is playing right there is what made his songs. And you're awful for saying such a thing.

My Dad talked me out of what I really wanted to do in life, which was to paint.
It wasn't 'practical enough', or 'normal enough'.
I don't blame him for it, I blame myself for not standing by the courage of my desire.
Who knows what got squashed.
What he did was from love, but also a degree of selfishness.
I think you understand.

SRVvelvetslash.. shut up. Tom Petty is the man, the shit, the most amazing music artist to ever walk this earth. So don't bash on his guitars because the guitar he is playing right there is what made his songs. And you're awful for saying such a thing.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Love Tom Petty, but his choice in guitars is awful.....Reinbacher?? They are the worst looking guitars ever created, they sound ok but the rest is just awful...really...awful..

I don't really like the women singing the chorus, just makes the song overdone.
I prefer the original.
But still, they performed this very well!

I hate how they cut this off the "Pack Up the Plantation" reissue CD. Sadly, I only have the original on cassette.
