  • You left out a jar of peanut butter, Glock with spare clip and couple MREs :-)

  • Good video

  • or u can look at mvsbushcraft and learn how to make one from stuff u find around the house!

  • Good basic information, in less time than it takes Nutnfancy to run a music intro.

  • Great video!

  • Get rid of the sharpening stone.... Just how much survivaling do you expect to do in the 12 to 24hrs before rescue/help arrives??

  • @t5id72j 5 month old comment but w/e.

what if rescue doesnt come in that amount of time? if you were out in the wilderness for more than 48 hours you would be doing alot of cutting for firewood, shelter making, and all that other good stuff. put the sharpening stone in your pack.

  • What is the 1mm clear plastic sheeting for? I can think of a few good uses for it; shelter, water collection from rain, dew, a solar still, etc. But what is the purpose of the transparency?

  • We can not do that in Florida. hehehehe. its nasty, steamy buggy and swampy ~! HATE IT~!

  • wats a slim jim

  • would like to know how to use each item for what purpose ...

  • too much gear, nature has all you need. improvise and be better off. just take comfort items to enjoy :)

    knife

    matches

    water bottle

    extra clothes

  • I agree in fact if you have bootlaces on you can make a fire easy with a bow drill.

A bit tougher if you have to make your own cord but why would you be barefoot in the woods anyways?

Basicly learn the skills to do without any tools and slowly add tools as you see fit. All of those things mentioned above certainly make life easier when in the wilderness

  • @mountainman1996

If nature "has all you need" then why do you suggest matches and spare clothes? A knife and water bottle is definitely needed, but nature can still provide alternatives to these too.

Kits vary from person to person and scenario to scenario.

The best tool a survivalists can equip themselves with is training, knowledge and practice.

  • use sun for navigation, stream/lake/river/ect for water, dont need rope, signal fire for signaling, fire in place of flashlight, tree/cave to replace space bag and poncho, and ECT... nature has everything you need. so just take comfort items. knife is usefull for camp anyway, water bottle to keep hydrated, and matches (at least, you CAN make fire from just nature, but just for COMFORT, i take matches) nothin fancy. learn to improvise and live from nature youll be more effective...

  • @mountainman1996 I think that's all good and well, but I would carry at least a bit cordage to your list. A knife and cordage are the two hardest things to replicate out in the wild, or at least that the case with me. I make stone blades and my own natural cordage, but that takes time and in an emergency situation, time is not always on your side.

  • thats a good idea to bring a FIRST AID kit.

Ill include it next time in a video.

  • omg i LOOOOVEEE slim Jim's !!

  • I would also include some water in the water bottle or at least carrying it in your car.

  • Actually this is a decent video but they forgot about having some bottled water to stay hydrated.

  • @knabewunder @knabewunder Why does it have to be bottled water?? Just fill a few collapsible jugs, treat them with filters, purification tabs, or just boil it. Keep it sealed until needed and that's all you need in the way of water. Bottled water is just a commercialized way of making you buy exactly what you can get out of the tap, the only difference where I live is they put ALOT of chlorine in the water. Sounds like overkill to me, but that the government for ya'

  • Hay i wounder where you got 3 of the items those waterproof matches and the emergence blanket and the water pure tablets the other stuff i could buy it some where because i live in calafornia

  • They sell those items at most walmarts or chinamart as I like to call them theyre in the sporting goods section.

  • forget the sharpening stone! You are in the wild and any stone will do to sharpen your knife! I learned that at age 5 or so from my dad.

  • you should have included doubles of an item, in case on breaks.

  • 2 pounds? That sharpening stone is about 1 pound itself. Dont get that cheap nylon rope either. Get 550 para cord with 7 strands. I found a whistle/match holder/compass/ for $2.50. This is a good basic kit but watch packrat556 vids.

  • no they have mini sharpening stones

  • Excellent Video. Thank you, my friend!

  • Good video ....

.... although, I would go with a knife that is bigger than the sharpening stone you showed to carry :-) Cold Steel Recon Scout/Becker BK-7 or 9 can both be used to chop down small trees by pounding them with other logs. They'd do the trick.

  • H AHA !! Yeah your survival food needs to be really gross so you don't eat it before hand.. ;)

  • i used slim jims as my energy :D but i ate em all before we got there..

  • Slim jim and a beer, the perfect snack.

  • Not much of a kit...

  • it is suposed to be light but he could have a little more

  • Great suggestions!

I always like to carry some wire too. Its amazing the uses that snare wire can have.

  • Solid kit. I like it.

  • didn't talk about the knife enough!

a solid knife is a survival kit in and of itself!

  • goos kit you got there

i got a question for anyone that might know, do any of you folks out there know why some people include tin foil or aluminum foil in their survival packs? thanks in advance....!

  • It's very handy. I include it for leave no trace purposes, you can build a fire on it without damaging the ground underneath. Also makes good emergency pan to cook in or boil water in. Some people say can use it as signalling mirror but this would be unlikely. Can also use bits of it for improvised fishing lures. Remember any items usefulness is only limited by imagination.

  • it also makes a good wind shield when cooking, for storing food you may find along the way,you can cover a flat rock and use it as a griddlle, form it into a cup to catch rainwater, the list goes on and on

  • Also it's used for reflecting campfire-heat, so you won't get cold.

  • in the jungle u only need a good machete and a flint

  • yes but the rest of that is still great to have :D

  • 7000th view!woot!

  • all good, but.

got with 100' of para cord

a sharining stick not a stone

you should get a lighter and the matches

    and a flair gun

  • will i need a flavor savor to go w/ my survival kit?

  • Don't forget to learn first aid tehniques and navigation with map and compass BEFORE you hit the trail. And practise. Great video.
