Pilot nowadays just using the ILS (Instrument Landing System) by placing the correct frequency of the airport on the aircraft's system. That's because they had smoothed landing and landing at the middle of the runway, i done that thing on Flight Simulator, completely using ILS until touchdown then release the Autopilot about 50 meter before touch the ground :)
@swtudu If you heard Assamualaikum at 5:03, it means they are not Indian Airline pilot, ...Either they are Saudi pilot or Qatar pilot..Most probs they are Saudi pilot...Im a Muslim...So I know...
@thomasowens1000 There is no rule that say you cant speak other then English In Aviation, If you fly to airports that only speak french, simply if you dont understand their langauge just dont enter their Airspace... Most of the Airports Nowadays speak english but its not a rule its just to make thing easier for Airlines to fly to
@pilotazzam Company procedures can be in any language within the flightdeck, but communications on radio must be in English: the International Civil Aviation Organisation decreed that from 1 January 2008 all Air Traffic Controllers and Flight Crew Members engaged in or in contact with international flights must be proficient in the English language.
@s6xer yes I noticed that too, I am a Pilot on A320, we never use RTO on Landing only on takeoff, very weird, does anyone know why they are using RTO for autobrakes on landing, I am not familiar with the B777 procedures for the Autobrakes
@khush295 varies from plane to plane, on average airlines do give or take 100 knots, roughly 200 km, for landing. Fuel: they carry enough to fly the destination plus reserve to execute a missed approach and to fly to some alternate airport and hold above it for 45 or so minutes, or to hold over destination airport. Fuel amount varies with aircraft type.
@timecop73 There are more than 900 pilot does not work in Saudi Arabia and answer the company's pilots from abroad, and most pilots have excellent skills Did you know that in Saudi Arabia, some of the pilots employed taxi drivers
What you've seen is just the light illuminating the knobs inscription near the RTO position. But as you look closly it has those yellow stripes all around this knob to indicate every position possible during night.
@barcacrazy99 I thought that in Europe even the cabin crew, even the cabin manager, cannot enter the flight deck, even in flight...? is this different outside of Europe...? what about flying jumpseat...?
@dublinmanc you can fly at the flight deck if you are a pilot, but some pilots not even allow with this, but others allow you even if you arent a pilot, but you have more chances if you are a pilot.
@razanet16 the pilots first tune in to the ILS frequency of that runway provided in the charts. Then the Primary Flight Display will show the ILS code together with the frequency. They can double confirm it by listening to the morse code. When all these conditions match, the pilots will know they are tune into the right ILS frequency
An system called ILS. Instrument Landing System. First pilots do their flight plan. That flight plan contains VORs (Very-High Omnidirectional Range), Jetways, and Airways. The pilot programs those VORs, Jet ways and airways into their FMC, Flight Management Computer. The aircraft will go to the first Waypoint (VOR), then to the second, and so on until they reach the airport. They will then tune the ILS frequency and the airplane will track that frequency. VOR's are just like highways in the sky.
@SWA1218 Just for clarity and completeness - VOR = VHF Omnidirectional Ranging - or Very-High-Frequency Omnidirectional Ranging. Also Waypoints are not possible to define using one VOR station. Let me guess...lazy pilots using autoland??? Do any 777 pilots hand fly anymore? Besides me. I avoid the autopilot unless bad visibility. Pilots today have no skills, other than turning autopilot on.
Actually a cat iii autoland is recommended in the T7 airline SOP for passenger comfort during odd hours of the night and early morning for these pilots.
it is, but if by fly by wire you mean a joystick, you are wrong, fly by wire is a sistem in wich ironically you dont fly by wires but with a computer.
garlex134, actually fly by wire is a term used to describe the next generation of aircraft in which there is no conventional screw and jacks, and all hydraulic systems are gone. Instead, when you move the yoke it sends a message to a computer and the computer electronically through wires moves an electric servo or ram to move any flight control system. A computer and "wires" now replaces the old mechanical systems in jets of old.
