The Flag thing is obviously an American thing, I maybe 'we' don't have that attachment in the UK where I think people mostly wear their flags in the way they talk, think and act.

I wanted to lower ours on Nov 4th, but I had hopes that SCOTUS would rule on behalf of the Nation prior to Jan 20th. We now have a person in the Oval office who is not qualified to be there, that is the reason my background has the 1/2 mast flying. UPDATE: I said I was gonna ask my son (Iraq War marine combat vet) to see if he thought Tom flying his flag at half-staff for a month after Obama's inauguration IN ANY WAY disrespected those who fought or died for this country, as at least 1 person implied.
Asked him last nite & he said (paraphrased), being no fan of Obama, "heck no, I'd probably do the same thing if I could fly a flag where I live". (He's a civilian now due to medical reasons.)
