i have heard rumors that the Trigate in halo 2 can be activated by that glitched switch, after pressing the switch you go to the trigate, and enter it. i heard you can actually GO TO REACH from this gate!

I found something better than this. I was out the map with my friends and we found a huge box just randomly sat there. My friend said that it contained all the functions of the level and map. I have no idea what it was. It was on the Long Night Of Solace level.

Nope, it was just before you get on the Sabre, in the Countdown Map. You go down the Countdown map in the outside area and jump on the Pelican/Falcon. Then it takes us outside the map. We carried on walking down and saw blob Turrets and blob Banshees. Then we were just travelling and we saw this huge Box/Cube.

@atingf Well, in Halo 2, there was a whole conspiracy theory behind the trigates including an explanation as to why Bungie left those in the most out of sight locations in campaign and multiplayer missions. You should look up some of the trigates in Halo 2. I think you'll find the theories interesting and plausable.

@JTshoot In Halo 2 however, the locations were out of sight, however, they were placed in such perfect positions such as between two pillars, right in the center of the rear of a space station, on the wall inside a cave, and so on. Easter Eggs are supposed to be out of sight. These trigates are out of sight and were such a huge deal in Halo 2. Obviously their importance was reduced in Halo 3 and subsequently, most people forgot about them by Halo: Reach which is unfortunate.

What if all the Trigates serve the purpose by: On July 7th 2012, all Trigates, on all Missions, wether found or not, will light up and glow red until the shoot out a redd beam up into the skybox and will cross through every multiplayer map until reaching The map Lockout where all the beamss will make a cone and cut a circle in the middle to unleash a ghost of Halo army. DUN DUN DUN. Or it could be a triangle, becuase come on..who doesn't like triangles?

Obviously they were more important in Halo 2 as there were rumors behind the origin of the trigates. Anyways, this is mainly an easter egg directed towards veteran Halo players. People who are new to Halo (the ones that started in Halo: Reach), won't understand this easter egg.

@Generalkidd i understand this easter egg perfectly, the reason their getting less and less "trigates" as the games move along means their able to control their textures more and more meaning theres no need for these "trigates" because of the graphic capabilityyou see trigates in a hell of alot of old games and a hell of alot of N64 games and each one you have to glitch or gameshark to find them, Trigates arn't holy or important in any way there just there to help ballance the look of the scenes
