So, Nirvana made money when Stone Temple Pilots covered their song, and I'm sure STP was smart enough to realize that (or at least their manager was). It was a very small amount, but it adds up when you consider how often a hit song is covered, or, more importantly, played on the radio, satellite radio, internet radio, or in a restaurant/bar/nightclub.
When a song is "covered" by someone other than the original artist, it is duly noted and reported -- by the venue where the song was performed -- to the performance rights organizations like BMI and ASCAP, and a royalty is paid to the original artist out of the "pot" collected by the PROs. The PROs collect their money by charging an annual fee to licensed venues (nightclubs, bars, restaurants, concert halls) where recorded music or live music is played or performed.
It's called a cover. Do you understand what a cover is? It is a song that was written and recorded an artist, then duplicated in a live setting by another artist. It's perfectly legal and ethical, and no one was ripped off here. I'll explain why in my next post.
Come fuckin´ on. Nothing against Nirvana. Good Band. But a singer like Scott Weiland doesn´t have to rip anything off. It´s more like an homage out of respect.
The STP song was made in 2009 I think, almost 20 years later than "stay away". Is not ripping anything, they are honoring Nirvana. By the way, Velvet Revolver also did a cover of Negative Creep.
how ironic, your not the first to say this, I think Bono said it best in one of U2's songs, every poet is a thief, everyone learns from someone, simple as that.
nirvana ripped off killing joke (money is not our god= radio friendly unit shifter), ripped off the damned (life goes on = come as you are) ripped of meat puppet, the melvins (it's shoved = milk it) and trust me i can go on for days...
@bellaka08 Oh and I don't disagree at all, it seems everyone rips off everyone else in some way. Thing is though most musicians take an idea from a song, say a riff then adopt it in their own way, changing the tempo and/or switching from chorus to verse or a bridge. What pisses me off about this particular STP song is that it's literally identical in everyway besides the actual words in the lyrics. Tempo, Guitar, drums, bass, melody and staccato = straight up stolen
Both Are Excelent Bands. The Best We Could Ask For. The Voices, That Perfect Guitar Sound Of Each. The Base, and The Drums. These Guys Each Grouped Up To Make Some Of The Best Songs That Are In My Head Day And Night! My Teeth Tap Their Songs Endlessly. I Whistle Their Songs Through The Halls Where I Work. Thank You Nirvana!!!! Thank You STP!!!!!!
yeah its kinda annoying that they kinda took the melody/guitar rhythm.. But who honestly cares. I'm a huge nirvana fan, but i also like STP. people use other people riffs/melody's all the time. Nothing is new under the sun.
Huh did not even realize how similar those to songs were xD oh well whatever, and everyone saying it was a cover...what the hell are you talking about? It's not a cover they're two different songs lol
Kurt couldn't even sing so I doubt Weiland was trying to jock his shit. Everyone covers other people's songs. I'm not saying Nirvana was garbage but they suck balls compared to STP.
No offense everyone, but EVERYTHING has been done more than once. You can take any band, including your precious Nirvana, and find a song that they probably "ripped off" from a previous band before them. It happens, and 99% of the time people don't do it intentionally.
Yea, I noticed this when I bought the recor-I literally searched and picked my brain for about an hour till I figured it out..
Anyway, so STP's a fan of Nirvana, so what. Its a great tribute to one of rock's most notorious band-even if the record company designed it that way-there was no way they seen that 'Grunge' would be what it became because of Nirvana..
It's just homage, guys. STP has done this kind of thing before. That signature riff to "Interstate Love Song"? Check out the chorus to Jim Croce's "I Got a Name." Same riff. Who cares? It's like a tribute.
@jukeboxhero161 yea, these kurt suckers start getting defensive with shit. Why not play something the fans would like to hear and cant hear anymore because the original band is dead?
@Troublemaker80s The funny thing is Nirvana goofed off and played part of "More than a feeling". It wasn't an intentional rip and the chords and progression are different. Teen spirit is F-Bb-Ab-Db more than a feeling is G-C-E-D.
haha stone temple pilots are so fucking average, they rode the grunge gravy train off of nirvana's success and the mainstreams thirst to find another nirvana. they are shit.
Yes, the parts sound similar. So what? It could be a tribute to Nirvana. Weiland loved Cobain, he even emulated his vocal style almost perfectly in "Creep".
Two amazing bands, stop this incredibly silly shit.
stp is one of my fav bands. i like them more than nirvana and nirvana was my first musical obsession when I was 12. I however also noticed this grievious rip off. nirvanas part sounds way better than stps of this btw
i've noticed that when i saw STP on Mtv (that was such a miracle), and i listened to between the lines. I think there's nothing bad, maybe they did that in honor of the 20 fucking years of the nevermind
How is 1 band better then another is they're like a ranking system hidden somewhere that keeps track of the points. Personally i grew up listening to anything i could get clear on my radio and love all of it for the memories. Also when it comes to nirvana something clicked with people and they just had more shows thats all they didn't invent grunge or anything it was there since Neil Young. Also for some reason it's heroin that creates and destroys the sounds we think are so awesome ~RhinoXeros
dude i am a fan of nirvana and by fan i really mean it and so... all bands use rip off you dont belive me then just take a look, around all music has it influences maby some are excesively rip off but no one gives a fuck
STP are notorious for ripping off other bands, whether it was Nirvana, Aic, Pearl jam even Danzig.. And if you say otherwise you either ride Scott Weiland's dick and are in denial, or your just some tone deaf idiot...
yeah its a complete ripoff. i noticed immediately the first time i heard that section of the stp song. like where have i heard that before? oh yeah "stay away".
Um. Fail troll's video is fail. Anybody who's read Not Dead and Not For Sale knows that Scott has a fair amount of respect for Kurt. Its called a tribute, you dumbass.
I think it´s more kind of a tribute than a rip off. Because it sounds obvious similiar. And I think such an amazing band like STP and such a great singer like Scott don´t need to rip off Nirvana. (Atleast nowadays XD)
Who are you Joe Satriani? So what? If you've ever written music like the top comment stated you know how easy it is to incorporate a melody into a song and not even notice. Difference is the Nirvana song you're referring to has that melody as the verse where as STP used it in the bridge before the guitar solo.
STP is a Very GENERIC bar type of band, as "OVER RATED " as nirvana is, at least they had substance and experimenting in their songs, STP is just the predictable cleche rockn roll band that inspired bands like DAUGHTRY or NIckleBack, yeah, their sooooo "fucking amazing" pshhhh you guys are musically retarded.
that part on the STP song was made after almost 16 years since nirvana isn't there. these riffs are tribute to the grunge itself. so i don't see no rip offs over here. and you can't compare the two songs in any way, becoz even the riffs are distinctive in their own styles on both of em. just listen to the songs man.
I don't think it's stolen. And if it is, what are any of these comments going to to about it?
And for that matter, why don't you ring on Led Zeppelin's door and talk to them about their shameless(and absolutely genius) rehashing of American blues? Oh wait. It's done. Nothing can be done, let it die. Cussing each other out won't do anything; it doesn't make you right, it won't get you a medal and it won't change anything ever. Especially something that happened about 20 years ago.
yep, they're very similar pieces of music... but one is the verse to a great old song, the other one the bridge to a great new one... just relax, listen to both of them, enjoy them, rock on and stop whining!
STP have earned enough credibility in the rock scene to afford to do stuff like this, unlike most other bands out there. Besides, they have always been about mainstream rock and combining the best stuff out of all different rock and roll eras. The riff chorus from Trippin' On A Hole sounds a lot like Dancing Days.
man it's funny readin these comments, as if 'ripping off' other bands has never happened before, most led zeppelin stuff is stolen and nobody complains about that! Anyhoo, gonna chuck my hat in the ring here and say - Nirvana suck, STP rule...pfff hahahaha...go on children, chide me! haha.
I think if Kurt didn't die he wouldn't be the legend he is today. I loved Nirvana but I love STP more.Listening 2 Nirvana makes me wanna kill myself b/c all I hear is a suicide note and crying. Scott's voice is better anyways. Hey baseball dude? The 47, Tom Glavine there? I played 11 yrs ball...Did u sign yet?
When i heard "Between the Lines" for the first time, I noticed that little bit that sounds like "Stay Away," but it was so obvious that I assumed they were borrowing as opposed to stealing. I took it as homage to be honest.
@THEYahamaDrummer so your calling someone who died a coward?...man thats harsh he was a good person and created better music then STP calling him a coward is disrespecting the dead in so many ways hell to be serious even if justin beiber died i would have respect even though hes a faggot but anyways wtf makes him a coward?
@THEYahamaDrummer he was depressed and plus being depressed isnt being emo sitting in a corner while crying about your girl leaving you with makeup on listing to BMTH is emo....even if you dont like him still show some respect what if your family memebers killed themselves and left you?...would that make them cowards? plus the lead singer of STP is kinda gayish
@THEYahamaDrummer dont get me wrong i love STP its just that i think nirvana is better and plus if you killed yourself then that means your a coward too
@THEYahamaDrummer haha how is someone that plays yamaha drums ganna even try and talk shit... your name makes stp look like faggots, when you try n stick up forthem... get a pearl set you fuckin fairy. haha
@THEYahamaDrummer umm actually i play for college and maybe on my way to theminors soon... so if i were to bandwagon it would be for the cleveland indians... so how am i a poser?? your just ignorant by startin a comment out... by sayin that kurt was a coward... he wasnt a coward when a bouncer for his show tryed pullin him down from crowd surfin and beat his face wih his guitar was he??? hmm yea so fuck you and have some respect u faggot... i have respect for m jackson, but i dont like him...
@THEYahamaDrummer is that the only comeback you can come up with?? "o kurt is a sissy, coward, n al that bull shit" the only thing that your in denial in is the fact he made better music than ur precious stp bullshit... and much, better lyrics that made no sense, but did... thats why he is a fuckn legend
@THEYahamaDrummer umm of course it can... its called a fucking oxymoron you faggot... shows how smart you are... i bet you dont even know what that is before looking it up and replying to me...
@THEYahamaDrummer Led Zeppelin is overrated, Nirvana might not have been technical and stuff but the melodys are amazing and so are kurts lyrics. and also only a few people have been able to touch a generation emotionally and still have more generations be touched by their music, and Kurt is one of those guys
u cant talk shit about someone like kurt until you are an ARTIST!
STP is the best out of those batch of bands of the early 90's, fuck you!!! read it again you foogazi ass cockfag i said is not was is, Nirvana was STP is
Nirvana is one of the most overrated bands of all time, STP is still aorund, Kurt Cobains death helped that band cuase they would have drowned in obscurity long ago.. STP is the best out of those batch of bands of the early 90's, fuck you
the fuck you part really spoke wonders to me. Yeah, STP.... was one of the best alt bands in the 90's.... WAS.... you fucking shit stain. Take your head outta your ass before you comment.
@Metalstryke if you dont even know the genre then dont even leave a comment... obiously you dont know your shit... stp is not the best band out of the GRUNGE genre... nirvana started GRUNGE, and if it wasnt for them stp wouldnt even be around... or at least play GRUNGE music... and no metallica is more overated than nirvana, but both bands r still the shit, so fuck you, and what boneymizz said... take your head outta your ass before you comment. fag
@crazy4baseball47 I never said STP was grunge, they got stuffed into a genre they didnt belong iI said they were the best out of the 90's bands 90's bands dumbshit, although i will agree with you that Metallica sucks balls
@Metalstryke yea metallica is overated but is fuckin dope dude, wtf? how can you even have a name like metalstryke if you dont like metallica you fucking faggot! metallica pretty much started metal, and inspired probably every band you listen too you fucking poser.
@crazy4baseball47 well Metallica was not the first metal band you idiot, they're overrated, Megadeth is better, Sabbath is better, Maiden is better, Judas Priest is way better, so shut the fuck up
@Metalstryke i never said they were the first metal band, did i??? i said ythey pretty much started metal... which means they influenced alot of bands today...and ma point was how do you even like metal or any form of rock n roll if you thnk metallica sucks? like i said... ur fuckin poser...
@Metalstryke You forget... Scott Weiland ripped off Eddie Vedders vocals in a their early songs... STP were definately not the best you dipshit. I would say Alice in Chains because they had much more musical/lyrical talent than STP by a long shot.
@TheConcreteBalloon Scott wasnt ripping anyone, and if anyhing hes the most talented singer out of all the grunge guys, Vedder sounds like he's constipated, and Layne Staley want even writing any songs for Chains that was Jerry Cantrell dumb ass
@Metalstryke I never said it was all Layne? And fyi he wrote quite a bit for them asshole, look at their self titled album, your the dumbass... and how did Scott have the most talent? His singing was average no matter how hard you try to stretch it. Not to mention they got famous for using the fucking grunge scene, they came in when all the others already had projects/bands in the mid to late 80s. STP fanboy I guess.
@TheConcreteBalloon They did not use the gurnge seen idiot, they for one are a California band that got thrown into that mix of Grunge and not to mention they outlasted most those bands after grunge was done, Soundgarden was broken up, so was Chains, Pearl Jam was going through a rotating door of members. Do you your homework before you make an ass out of yourself nimrod
@Metalstryke Im the idiot? I don't do my homework? You tried to tell me Layne didnt write the songs you fuckin moron and you spelled it grunge seen? If your gonna fuck with me at least know what you're saying. And ok they outlasted the others, but do you realize that Pearl Jam is still here and that Alice and Soundgarden reformed? Outlasting has nothing to do with quality of the band. I stand by my point, STP is just a nothing special shit band that wouldnt be famous if not for the "grunge" era.
@TheConcreteBalloon Exactly man, outlasting another band doesn't mean quality, Madonna has outlasted everyone else these past 25 + years, so by their logic it must mean shes the greatest of all time? their idiots, STP are a joke, they always wanted to be AiC or Pearl Jam, and they can play for another 20 years but they never will be AiC or Pearl Jam...
@Metalstryke And you know what I made my point. Keep listening to your shitty stone temple pilots, who BY THE WAY took influence from half of those grunge bands... No more responses from me, Im not wasting my time with your stupid ass. Pigs get what pigs deserve
@showbacka So your telling me that death doesn't help a bands legend, really??? Wow you're a fuckin moron, have you seen how many people now listen to Amy Winehouse that weren't before. Kurt Cobain was one of the worst guitar players ever, and that is overlooked because he's dead, Nirvana's popularity would have fizzled instead of growing after his death, it did for Alice in Chains, and all the other ''grunge'' bands. nuff said
@Metalstryke if you been so drunk and if you had been consuming so much drugs that kurt cobain used to do in his shows, you wouldn't had just been catching the guitar correctly. he was one of the best guitarists of all time ,i'ts just my opinion
@Metalstryke Kurt was an amazing guitarist. Just cos he didn't shred didn't mean he couldn't. If you listen to very early stuff and live rips you'd hear that.
@Metalstryke This kids got a damn good point. I mean.. now AIC are still making music and no one even cares about them as much anymore... because its like.. oh they are getting back together and making music. (IMO they are still one of my favorite bands) I agree with the nirvana statement too.. lets face it In Utero wasn't as good as Nevermind (which is one of my favorite albums) and Michael Jackson became more popular after his death as well... in fact more then hes ever been when he died.
@416nWild I agree with you, AIC isnt as good now that Layne is gone.. AIC is one of my all time favorite bands.. And I will be honest I dont listen to the new AIC songs...
@416nWild in utero was indeed as good as nevermind. so was unplugged. 3 near perfect albums. don't ever compare alice in chains new stuff to in utero. in utero is a masterpiece.
@Metalstryke i mean,,,, you can have your own opinion man but..... Kurt may be an overrated guitarist as far as skill goes... and "Smells like teen spirit" MAYBE.. and i say MAYBE is an over rated song. But your a fuckin dumbass if you think Nirvana is overrated.... Drumming = Spot on. Bass = Spot On. Vocals/lyrics/riffs.... Spot fuckin on. Your comment.... fuck off.
This is in homage to Nirvana. It is not a rip-off. Scott has stated before he liked the band. Why someone just assumes it was done in malice and not a tribute is beyond me. Of course, Scott has heard the song before. Long live STP, new album rules.

ok so i personally think it's an accident. but if your it pisses you off SOO MUCH...maybe you've never realized it but nirvana's most famous riff is a mirror image of the chorus of boston's "more than a feeling" starting in a different spot but following the exact same progression.
@guitarman3149 I know your comment's about a year old, but I've seen people say this before and it is not even close to being true. If you transpose "Teen Spirit" down a half-step (which would match "More Than a Feeling"'s key) you still get a totally different chord progression because they start with and use one different chord within their key. I assume you play guitar, so you may wanna start looking into this sort of stuff.
they didnt copy them they cover nirvanas song duh

STP are notorious for ripping off other bands, whether it was Nirvana, Aic, Pearl jam even Danzig.. And if you say otherwise you either ride Scott Weiland's dick and are in denial, or your just some tone deaf idiot...
danathor99 7 months ago
@danathor99 Wow, that was a biased comment. Shame that Stone Temple Pilots are objectively an amazing band.

yeah its a complete ripoff. i noticed immediately the first time i heard that section of the stp song. like where have i heard that before? oh yeah "stay away".

Who gives a shit about Nirvana? "Hi, I'm Squirt Cobain and my tummy hurts. Think I'll blow my head off.". Douchenugget.

STP obviously wasn't trying at all with their newest album so you can't really blame them.

who are STP?
rananim3 9 months ago
I think it´s more kind of a tribute than a rip off. Because it sounds obvious similiar. And I think such an amazing band like STP and such a great singer like Scott don´t need to rip off Nirvana. (Atleast nowadays XD)

STP= cover band for Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Peral Jam, Nirvana
SVR10garbage 1 year ago
Who are you Joe Satriani? So what? If you've ever written music like the top comment stated you know how easy it is to incorporate a melody into a song and not even notice. Difference is the Nirvana song you're referring to has that melody as the verse where as STP used it in the bridge before the guitar solo.
omaha0bugaha 1 year ago

MindRiotWave 1 year ago
I don't think it's stolen. And if it is, what are any of these comments going to to about it?
And for that matter, why don't you ring on Led Zeppelin's door and talk to them about their shameless(and absolutely genius) rehashing of American blues? Oh wait. It's done. Nothing can be done, let it die. Cussing each other out won't do anything; it doesn't make you right, it won't get you a medal and it won't change anything ever. Especially something that happened about 20 years ago.
Draiman1234 1 year ago
yep, they're very similar pieces of music... but one is the verse to a great old song, the other one the bridge to a great new one... just relax, listen to both of them, enjoy them, rock on and stop whining!
handrix89 1 year ago
STP have earned enough credibility in the rock scene to afford to do stuff like this, unlike most other bands out there. Besides, they have always been about mainstream rock and combining the best stuff out of all different rock and roll eras. The riff chorus from Trippin' On A Hole sounds a lot like Dancing Days.
tatolino 1 year ago
man it's funny readin these comments, as if 'ripping off' other bands has never happened before, most led zeppelin stuff is stolen and nobody complains about that!

When i heard "Between the Lines" for the first time, I noticed that little bit that sounds like "Stay Away," but it was so obvious that I assumed they were borrowing as opposed to stealing. I took it as homage to be honest.

@Metalstryke if you dont even know the genre then dont even leave a comment... obiously you dont know your shit... stp is not the best band out of the GRUNGE genre... nirvana started GRUNGE, and if it wasnt for them stp wouldnt even be around... or at least play GRUNGE music... and no metallica is more overated than nirvana, but both bands r still the shit, so fuck you, and what boneymizz said... take your head outta your ass before you comment. fag
crazy4baseball47 1 year ago
@crazy4baseball47 I never said STP was grunge, they got stuffed into a genre they didnt belong iI said they were the best out of the 90's bands 90's bands dumbshit, although i will agree with you that Metallica sucks balls

@Metalstryke yea metallica is overated but is fuckin dope dude, wtf? how can you even have a name like metalstryke if you dont like metallica you fucking faggot! metallica pretty much started metal, and inspired probably every band you listen too you fucking poser.
crazy4baseball47 1 year ago
@crazy4baseball47 well Metallica was not the first metal band you idiot, they're overrated, Megadeth is better, Sabbath is better, Maiden is better, Judas Priest is way better, so shut the fuck up
Metalstryke 1 year ago
@Metalstryke i never said they were the first metal band, did i??? i said ythey pretty much started metal... which means they influenced alot of bands today...and ma point was how do you even like metal or any form of rock n roll if you thnk metallica sucks? like i said... ur fuckin poser...
crazy4baseball47 1 year ago
@Metalstryke Overrated my ass. Metallica own The Dave Mustaine project and are just as great as Sabbath, Priest and Maiden.
THEYahamaDrummer 1 year ago
@Metalstryke You forget... Scott Weiland ripped off Eddie Vedders vocals in a their early songs... STP were definately not the best you dipshit. I would say Alice in Chains because they had much more musical/lyrical talent than STP by a long shot.
TheConcreteBalloon 7 months ago
@TheConcreteBalloon Scott wasnt ripping anyone, and if anyhing hes the most talented singer out of all the grunge guys, Vedder sounds like he's constipated, and Layne Staley want even writing any songs for Chains that was Jerry Cantrell dumb ass
Metalstryke 7 months ago
@Metalstryke I never said it was all Layne? And fyi he wrote quite a bit for them asshole, look at their self titled album, your the dumbass... and how did Scott have the most talent? His singing was average no matter how hard you try to stretch it. Not to mention they got famous for using the fucking grunge scene, they came in when all the others already had projects/bands in the mid to late 80s. STP fanboy I guess.
TheConcreteBalloon 7 months ago
@TheConcreteBalloon They did not use the gurnge seen idiot, they for one are a California band that got thrown into that mix of Grunge and not to mention they outlasted most those bands after grunge was done, Soundgarden was broken up, so was Chains, Pearl Jam was going through a rotating door of members. Do you your homework before you make an ass out of yourself nimrod
Metalstryke 7 months ago
@Metalstryke Im the idiot? I don't do my homework? You tried to tell me Layne didnt write the songs you fuckin moron and you spelled it grunge seen? If your gonna fuck with me at least know what you're saying. And ok they outlasted the others, but do you realize that Pearl Jam is still here and that Alice and Soundgarden reformed? Outlasting has nothing to do with quality of the band. I stand by my point, STP is just a nothing special shit band that wouldnt be famous if not for the "grunge" era.
TheConcreteBalloon 7 months ago
@TheConcreteBalloon Exactly man, outlasting another band doesn't mean quality, Madonna has outlasted everyone else these past 25 + years, so by their logic it must mean shes the greatest of all time? their idiots, STP are a joke, they always wanted to be AiC or Pearl Jam, and they can play for another 20 years but they never will be AiC or Pearl Jam...
danathor99 7 months ago
@danathor99 Phew, thanks for agreeing dude, at least you got my back
TheConcreteBalloon 7 months ago
@Metalstryke And you know what I made my point. Keep listening to your shitty stone temple pilots, who BY THE WAY took influence from half of those grunge bands... No more responses from me, Im not wasting my time with your stupid ass. Pigs get what pigs deserve
TheConcreteBalloon 7 months ago
@TheConcreteBalloon your fuckin retarded, and STP is still rocking out today asshole, fuck off
Metalstryke 7 months ago
@Metalstryke there are 3 things that make this comment very stupid looking.
#1:if a band is overrated dosn´t mean they are not good
#2: Cobains death couldn´t help the band because Kurt died and the band couldn´t play anymore. idiot.
#3: evry one has theyr own taste in music douch bag.
showbacka 7 months ago
@showbacka So your telling me that death doesn't help a bands legend, really??? Wow you're a fuckin moron, have you seen how many people now listen to Amy Winehouse that weren't before. Kurt Cobain was one of the worst guitar players ever, and that is overlooked because he's dead, Nirvana's popularity would have fizzled instead of growing after his death, it did for Alice in Chains, and all the other ''grunge'' bands. nuff said
Metalstryke 6 months ago
@Metalstryke if you been so drunk and if you had been consuming so much drugs that kurt cobain used to do in his shows, you wouldn't had just been catching the guitar correctly. he was one of the best guitarists of all time ,i'ts just my opinion
Seed1992 6 months ago
@Metalstryke Kurt was an amazing guitarist. Just cos he didn't shred didn't mean he couldn't. If you listen to very early stuff and live rips you'd hear that.
Circa2Circa 5 months ago
@Metalstryke This kids got a damn good point. I mean.. now AIC are still making music and no one even cares about them as much anymore... because its like.. oh they are getting back together and making music. (IMO they are still one of my favorite bands) I agree with the nirvana statement too.. lets face it In Utero wasn't as good as Nevermind (which is one of my favorite albums) and Michael Jackson became more popular after his death as well... in fact more then hes ever been when he died.
416nWild 5 months ago
@416nWild I agree with you, AIC isnt as good now that Layne is gone.. AIC is one of my all time favorite bands.. And I will be honest I dont listen to the new AIC songs...

Long live STP, new album rules.

megabeast102 1 year ago
ok so i personally think it's an accident. but if your it pisses you off SOO MUCH...maybe you've never realized it but nirvana's most famous riff is a mirror image of the chorus of boston's "more than a feeling" starting in a different spot but following the exact same progression.
guitarman3149 1 year ago
@guitarman3149 and what song would that be?
crazy4baseball47 1 year ago

guitarman3149 1 year ago
@guitarman3149 I know your comment's about a year old, but I've seen people say this before and it is not even close to being true. If you transpose "Teen Spirit" down a half-step (which would match "More Than a Feeling"'s key) you still get a totally different chord progression because they start with and use one different chord within their key. I assume you play guitar, so you may wanna start looking into this sort of stuff.
Anyways, Stone Temple Pilots suck hard.
