This Gerry Anderson series was made over 40 years back,and for its time was pretty 'modern' and stylish and even,as people here have noted,quite sexy! The first episode spends a lot of time with plot exposition and the scripting seems a bit lame. I think they did a lot with limited budgets as well.It gets better though. As a teenage lad I had quite a crush on the beautiful Peter Gordeno [the skydiver captain] who sadly died a few years ago.

@slimdudeDJC I hardly think so; seen too many where they are overdressed and often in bad taste; those Star Trek TNG uniforms the crew wore are one that comes to mind and Deep Space Nine were just as morbid! Babylon 5 and Buck Rogers in the 21st Century dressed women unsexy too although those were good shows. The ones that were sexy that I liked were Lex and Farscape; both very very sexy; especially Lex!

@JBofBrisbane It could have been better; the helmet was kind of stupid looking. Erin Grey was a bit of a doe eyed clueless wonder on that show. Some of the most horrible acting I've seen in Sci-fi!  To each his own. I will put Lex up against that show for sexiness any day!

The sound has been altered during the interception. There is cheezy diso music added over the bass. The bass which was there in the original audio was coequal with the winding up engines. The roar of the engines while not very realistic from outside the cockpit, was never-the-less the original soundtrack.

@centurion180ad You are misremembering. This is the pilot ep. Director Gerry Anderson regretted his decision to use music and leave off the roaring engine sound FX in the first ep. While the music is a bit much,it's not a bad idea to have the no sound in space approach, IMO.

The animation is great for 1970. The only real Flaw that should have been addressed is the fact that Women, in any future, would be in primary control of most every operation. Sexual Harassment by the leaders seems more of an ancient idea rather than a futuristic idea. But, as I said... The animation is great for 1970...
