Bay movies is heavily flawed in storytelling, dialogs etc. But they have great action sequences and visuals. I experienced that even directors like Christopher Nolan or Stanley Kubrick failed in directing action scenes. So Bay is not a bad director. He is just an eye candy director. No suprise he made music videos before.
Uwe Boll on the other hand, is simply stupid. He doesn't succeed in anything except making you laugh for idiotic goofs and he is a very rude and unpleasant person unlike Bay.

The Rock (1996) had a solid screenplay with good action, actors and cheesy direction.
The Island had an okay premise with good special effects and car chases. Bad Boys movies were dumb fun and pretty good in Rush Hour/Lethal Weapon terms.
Transformers 2 and Pearl Harbor were his worst since the dialogue was terrible, special effects were rushed and the actors overacted.

If you enjoy Bay's movies, it must be nice to be so easy to please, and to be fair, he rakes in the big grosses so you're not alone. I think that Uwe is really just a troll, TRYING to piss people off with shitty movies and offensive jokes (read: such as the 9/11 thing in Postal). I've seen House and Alone, I agree, both were shit. As far as Bay is concerned, its all style over substance. He is NOT an actors director, its all about the visuals...and the reason he keeps getting films made is because they make money. I would never put him in the same catagory as film makers like Scorsese, Speilberg, or even David Fincher. I admit, I do kinda like more of Bay's work than I do Boll's. Amityville Horror, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but I think Michael himself is an arrogant dick. Some of the new Boll movies (Darfur, Rampage, Stoic, to some degree even Seed) are actually pretty good. Which surprised me! So I would say that Boll actually gets better while Michael Bay's movies for me are like watching the same thing over and over again.

I don't really think you could say he RUINED HotD. I'm not sympathizing Boll in anyway, but house of the dead really had no quality to it that could necessarily be destroyed by that shitty movie. I liked transformers 2. The action scenes were just awesome, for the most part and it was pretty funny too. However, why did both films not have the theme from transformers. I was never a huge fan of the series, but it would've been nice to hear it. And there was absolutely no reason to have a love story. Whenever those parts were on screen, i was constantly thinking, "Alright, enough of that. Get to the transformers." And Micheal Bay is not terrible, but he's not that good either.
I won't argue with you on that point. Boll has absolutely no business doing anything that takes imagination and requires a mature spin on what many adults have grown up with.. But that is no excuse for Bay. Micheal Bay might be able to do action very well, but his stories are still just as utterly vapid and cliche. He fails to extend humanity to non human characters, and so has no place doing sci-fi or fantasy.

If you enjoy Bay's movies, it must be nice to be so easy to please, and to be fair, he rakes in the big grosses so you're not alone. Millions of other mouth breathers flock to theatres to spit popcorn and clap wildly every time he sh*ts out another turd of a flick. If 90 minutes of explosions, slo-mo, toe-curling cliche, dolly shots and over-editing is your thing, then fine. In fact, I rarely visit the theater and don't find a lot of his humor in his movies funny at all (granted it's the way it's either written or acted out by the actor).

As far as Bay is concerned, its all style over substance. He is NOT an actors director, its all about the visuals...and the reason he keeps getting films made is because they make money. I would never put him in the same catagory as film makers like Scorsese, Speilberg, or even David Fincher. He probably realises that himself..so as as long as the studios know he's gonna make money for them, he's the go to guy. Sad but true.

I would prefer Michael Bay if he wasn't so confident his movies were anything more than crap. At least when I see a Boll film it's like "Okay, this is gonna be cheesy, but I'm aware of that, and so is the guy who made the film. This film was meant to provide little more than a cheap laugh with over-the-top violence and gore." Michael Bay really thinks he's creating masterpieces. The Rock sucked aised from a couple action scenes. Connery, Harris and Morse carried that movie on their shoulders.

Also, Bay once said when asked about Terminator: Salvation, "My robots could kick their robot's asses!" That is undeniable arrogance there. The Transformers aren't even his. I admit, I do kinda like more of Bay's work than I do Boll's. Amityville Horror, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but I think Michael himself is an arrogant dick. Uwe at least has the decency to know his own movies suck. But I did like Seed, and I haven't seen either Postal or Rampage (kind of similar titles, eh?), but I heard that compared to his other work, they're actually good.

I hate both these assholes but if it came down to a choice, I'd rather watch Uwe Boll films just because the sheer amount of horrible, god-awful directing mistakes and downright terrible flow is somewhat enjoyable in a surreal, masochistic way. Neither of these guys deserve to be in Hollywood, period, but I'm going to go on a limb here and say that the Transformers films are collectively worse than anything Boll has ever done, which is saying some pretty interesting things about the sort of straight-up hacks we're dealing with here. This is scraping the bottom of the barrel. And this is given that I've seen "In The Name Of The King", which despite having tons and tons of famous talented actors was horrifying.

Although I absolutely thought Transformers 2 was beyond retardation and District 9 pwned it in almost everything including special effects for half the budget, the CGI in Transformers 2 really aren't bad and I do got hopes that he will make more movies like Armageddon and the first Transformers which werer really enjoyable by my standars.

I liked transformers 2. The action scenes were just awesome, for the most part and it was pretty funny too. However, why did both films not have the theme from transformers. I was never a huge fan of the series, but it would've been nice to hear it. And there was absolutely no reason to have a love story. Whenever those parts were on screen, i was constantly thinking, "Alright, enough of that. Get to the transformers." And Micheal Bay is not terrible, but he's not that good either.

I won't argue with you on that point. Boll has absolutely no business doing anything that takes imagination and requires a mature spin on what many adults have grown up with.. But that is no excuse for Bay. Micheal Bay might be able to do action very well, but his stories are still just as utterly vapid and cliche. But seriously, if a retard like Boll wants to do movies, then he can make them, but he should stop making game adaptations. He should leave rights to games for someone more capable (let's wait like 10-20 years, when some gamers will become directors and writers).

Transformers is just "mmm..... okay" yet one of his best pieces, and you say that his abilities as a director are limited to action/special effects stories (stories which aren't even that great to begin with). This doesn't sound like a director worth defending to me.

I can see why people say Michael Bay is not a good director, but honestly... unlike him, Uwe Boll is the last person on Earth you want to make your movie, no matter what it is.

Every movie that Nolan has directed has either won an Oscar or was nominated for an Oscar and all his movies are in the IMDB Top 250 List. The guy is just a 'One in a Million' type.
