Someone sounds a little bit envious. I admit I'm not that great of a skier but I went anyway and I didn't feel like I'd wasted my money. How do you know we didn't get any face-shots? The movies and photos represent a small portion of the trip.
You're the one who's attacking me for stating an opinion.
Freedom of speech. My opinion is that in the global-warming, consumer-culture world we live in it's a waste of resources and a crime against Nature to Heli or Cat Ski, especially in tiny groups.
Heli Skiing is for rich, fat, tourists. Quit polluting my air and wasting resources so your lazy ass can drop five grand to ski for a day.
Ski-Touring is the only respectable means of backcountry travel. It's green, uses no fossil fuels, requires no infrastructure and it's free once you've got the gear.
I'm from the Kootenay's and most of the locals I know share my views on this subject. There's something wrong when wealthy American tourists have priority over the backcountry and the taxpaying locals get the leftovers.
Thanks for the support bicycle1cards! In spite of the cost, my skiing ability being what it is, the gas/emissions used, we're going heli-skiing again in a week.
Perhaps we'll see Nataraja13 at the local Tim Horton's.
No offense, but you are either ignorant of the facts and statistics or you're simply in denial.
Penn and Teller are magicians, not scientists. I tend to favor the opinions of the latter.
Obviously Heli skiing has residual effects on the environment, you obviously aren't taking into account the resources required and all of the externalities.
Oh and I don't support ANY American owned chains. Tim Hortons is American owned and the coffee and food is god awful rubbish. I thankfully can afford to eat much better than that.
I only support locally owned and operated business with quality products.
Hope you enjoy you enjoy your upcoming trip.
Maybe you'd consider purchasing some carbon-credits to offset your emissions?
We're thinking of buying the Kootenays, clearing out the forest and then putting up a bunch of Tim Horton's. Here's your chance to get in on the ground floor of a great opportunity.
jeez, why waste all that money and GAS/EMISSIONS so that 2 really crappy skiers can ride lame sub-alpine terrain and not even get any face-shots?
Take yer bunk as steez back 2 the resorts, u suck!

What we have here is a self righteous, backwoods dufus. Have fun whining about everything.

You don't handle honest criticism well do you?
Whatever, ignorance is bliss!
Douchebag. The Kootenays hate you.
