stupid question my mediacoder keeps saying that the video wont convert for last error code 17 and checked it and it doesnt make sence i put differnt vids into it and it tells me the same thing every time i put the same vids into the vixy converter and it tells me that youtube is down or here is no video in the embedded code so do ya think could help me

For some reason my converter kept saying something like "Do you want to default xyz before doing so?" and never actually doing anything when I hit the main Extensions button. This was quickly remedied by going to the toolbar at the top of the screen--Extensions>Digital Media Players>Apple iPod.

no it does not, ".veg" is a project file for the program Sony Vegas. It is not a video file. To convert that you would have to render the video as a full quality avi (uncompressed) and then import it into media coder and convert it.

Is there a target size (MB) feature to limit on how big you want you videos to be. Handbrake, has it, but it only does DVDs, I'm trying to find 1 similar to that that converts to .mp4, there are plenty of .avi encoders that have that feature

umm, it doesnt exactly have an mb target size, but if you mess with the bitrate (kbps) then it will make it smaller.

k, so i put the flv video i got off of youtube in media coder, went to extension, selected ipod, and then start. and my video is like 5 minutes long, but it converts it in like 3 seconds. and when i open it on my computer, it only plays the first 14 seconds.

it does this for all the videos i try.

For basic conversion, try getting NHC's "Prism Video Converter." It can't do nearly as much as this, but so far, I've been pretty successful.

Idk how you know this stuff. But I watched your tutorial and I have one problem. The version I downloaded doesn't have the "Extension" tab. Does that matter?

umm no not really. You'll just have to know a little more of what your doing. The extensions tab is a good tool for people who don't know much about formats and codecs and its a fast way to select a preset. But if you don't have it, its fine. You might just get a file that cannot be read properly in your player because maybe you selected a format or container. That don't fit with the other. But no it doesnt matter that much if you don't have the extensions tab.

re: afsoonsadaf, all you do is go to extensions, and apple ipod. That will set everything to the correct settings for mp4, so it will convert correctly.

okay, first of all you have to export your video out of photo story so once you get to the point where you save your story, click "save your story for playback on your computer", and you can watch this video

When it starts to convert and finishes, it either says error. This is mind boggling because it seems like i'm doing everything right. I just want to take the mp4 file i have already and make it so it converts into a better resolution and file size so my zune can sync it.

Well, Not sure why, but I've been trying for two hours to convert an flv to anything that will play. AVI or MP4... anything. None will play after converted with Media Coder. I've tried default settings, and tried changing settings, still nothing. What a waste of time. It shouldn't be this difficult.

well, it works for me, and make sure when you convert, your using xvid or divx as the format, and make sure you have divx installed. You could try motion jpeg or lossles jpeg, or dv video, get back to me if you are still having problems

Not a bad vid TM, particularly your judicious use of close-ups. Too many stick to the "cursor view" for the entire video, which makes the video too jerky-looking.

One thing you should do is rehearse what your going to say before recording. Too many "and uhs" and "ums" can detract from your message. also, use the correct terms for things; Using words like "Thingy" make it look like you don't know what your talking about.

Keep plugging at it.

mine said that too, you have to get the updated version for it to fix. When ever you open up media coder and the internet comes up get the updated version and you should be good. Peace
