I did listen. I've seen Zach live twice with Rage and I have a lot of respect for him as a musician and an activist, especially his whole help with the farmers protest but I just wasn't that impressed with the performance in the video. In my opinion it was very lackluster in comparison.
He's trying to bridge two different types of African-American music - funk and son jarocho. Maybe it'll evolve as he's getting deeper into son. (I'm thinking there's some fertile ground, maybe going in the direction of funk soul, circa the Temptations' "Cloud Nine".)
Yeah, he was. As a lyricist, if he comes up with something good he'll write it down. He probably wrote it not long before the concert- so he wouldn't have enough time to learn them.

son jarocho is not precisely african american, you know, it has influences of african music, but... it has a lot more
