Marc seems reserved here, in the other videos he nails it. But the guitar player worries me, Brian's guitar was as big as Freddy's voice, his sound emotes so much. This video leaves a lot to be desired there, I hope it's just cause its a practice and their slacking.
Remember people that the tour is supposed to be Queen AND a tribute band, so it's likely that the real Queen band would have someone else singing lead vocals. Marc is fronting the tribute band. I'm sure Marc will sing with Queen for a song or two though as well
@HollyW00d81 I don't remember it being mentioned anything about the original Queen band touring with the tribute band. I don't think they have time to tour since their working on a movie, they have to keep the tribute band working and all the other hasle at this time.

I wasn't sure about a having 2 guitar players and an extra singer on board then I watched for the overall dynamics. Roger Taylor did an excellent job. They sound and resonate visually like the music of Queen. If Roger goes the extra mile and gets the production right (light show, costumes etc.) it will be a juggernaut of a show. It is NOT a cheap copy but rather the soul of what Queen's music represents. Roger and Brian should jam with these new musicians just to have some fun of their own. :)

I'm really glad they went with Marc Martel and it looks like the rest of the final band is real solid. But I have to say, as I've been viewing and reading some of the comments on the other videos, that it's a bit sad how harsh and negative many of the comments are towards many of the contestants. I definitely think some were better than others, but a little bit of tact wouldn't hurt. Congrats to the winners and props to those who did their best! On with the show!

Thank God for the Flag for Spam option! I finally broke down and checked out the Raphael links. I'm sorry, but he is AWFUL. He can carry a tune and sings with passion, but he sings with such a heavy accent that he sounds AWFUL covering songs originally sung a native/fluent English speaker. Raphael mispronounces words constantly, softens consonants at the end of words that should be hard, and generally sounds like he's singing with his mouth full of cotton balls...

Thank God for the Flag for Spam option! I finally broke down and checked out the Raphael links. I'm sorry, but he is AWFUL. He can carry a tune and sings with passion, but he sings with such a heavy accent that he sounds AWFUL covering songs originally sung a native/fluent English speaker. Raphael mispronounces words constantly, softens consonants at the end of words that should be hard, and generally sounds like he's singing with his mouth full of cotton balls...

@AdamMethos Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie Mercury) was a Parsi born and raised in Zanzibar and in India. So he was'nt native of the UK. His accent has nothing to do with it. Marc Martel's Somebody to love is as close as i've seen/heard. But this is nowhere near as good as i expected.

@AdamMethos Ask the good doctor for his opinon on Raphael's voice and his cover of show must go on, he is a expert and he has said to me that they sohould have chosen Raphael based upon that one perfromnce he has heard, over Marc because of the very things he doctro pointed out that he says will be problems for Marc pefroming on his own using a mimick voice and the keys and notes he will have to hit for 2 hours.
