Just like PC, PS3 online is free. I have a gaming PC, a PS3, AND a 360. For shooters, I prefer them in this order

1. PC(kb/mouse ftw) <- I have MW2 and BC2 for PC

2. 360, The controller custom tailored for FPS

3. PS3 The controller(if your not used to it) sucks for FPS, although I love this system more than the xBox.

yeah! Thats what I do, and its usually faster than wireless if it the router is very far away. The cable is called an "Ethernet Cable" You can get it any where like Radio Shack, best buy, online etc

Well... I don't think you NEED a new router. Just get an Ethernet cable and plug one end into an empty slot on the Router, and one end to the PS3. Then it WILL work. If more probs contact Sony, they will guide you STEP-BY-STEP!

I paid $400, and if you didn't get an arcade that means you got a PRO(or Elite), so 300 or 400 plus 100 for wireless and 50 for live so total: 450 or 550, which is STILL more expensive than the cheapest PS3(400). It comes with blu-ray, so I don't have to buy a 400 player(The cheap ones suck). All in all it's more Bang for the buck than a 360(Any model). And guess what, my PS3 got stolen so I don't have one right now, I finally got the money but am going to buy a Ps3 like I did 2 years ago.
