Alot of people will disagree with me but face it in 2 years this will be "just another game" and in 5 years this game will be collecting dust on your shelf while you play the old school hardcore mario games.

When I play this game I don't want to feel like im playing an old game I want a fresh experience for my $40. @Hans1994yout This game actually is pretty original. Look at EVERY other 3D Mario game and you'll see that Mario Land 3D is the first one to actually focus on incorporating elements from both the 2D and 3D games. 64 focused on exploration and was nothing like the 2D games. Sunshine was more about using your FLUDD in clever ways and less about platforming. Galaxy 1 and 2 were about screwing with gravity and sense of direction. Mario 3D Land stands out quite a bit.

I hate this game. And dont call me a hater cuz I liked every Mario Platformer BEFORE the Wii. Want me to be specific? This game is easy. This game has elevator music. This game has no creativity. These are just my opinions, I am open to new ideas but this, ugh.

@Hans1994yout How can you hate a game before playing it? How do know it's easy? By watching footage of the first couple levels? Elevator music? The main theme is a Super Mario Bros. 3 song made better, take off your fucking nostalgia goggles. Creativity? I think the concept of blurring the line between the 2D and 3D games is pretty creative in and of itself and not something that many other series can do since most are exclusively either 2D or 3D.

This game will fall victim to the Nintendo formula: reuse same music same motiffs and same basic themes that will make it another average, predictable Mario title. And how do I have nostalgia goggles if I simply want something new? I can tell by your tone that you honestly hate anyone who questions Nintendo. Whats the word for those people?

@Hans1994yout NSMB added a tone of new mechanics to the gameplay of 2D Mario games. Wall Jumping, Ground Pounding, Co-OpMultiplayer, speed granting powerups (blue shell and penguin suit), first 2D Mario game to have a new boss for every world (Mario 1 and 2 just had Bowser, 3 and 4 just had Koopaling. NSMBDS had a new boss for every world), the list goes on.

Now look at SMB2(the actual sequel, not Doki). That game barely added anything to the gameplay. It was just really hard. (cont)

@Hans1994yout (cont)I say you have nostalgia goggles because you seem to only see the flaws in new Mario games, not the improvements. Like I said, some newer games have done more to improve and innovate the gameplay of their respective series than some of these "golden age" games of the past like SMB2. This is the FIRST of a series of 3D Mario games on the handheld consoles and you're getting pissed that they're starting with something traditional. It's still the first mix of 2D and 3D elements.

This game looks awesome! I hope they put aditional challenges when you finish the game, like Finish this level under 2 minutes or FInish this level without being touched, and you would win extras! A bit like the comets in Mario Galaxy.

The team that did super mario galaxy did this game, so instead of a comet emblem, it is just a star. In other words, save star collecting, it is super mario galaxy ds. Still, I hope there is a star collection mario game for 3ds, as well as an actual new super mario bros 3ds.
