  • I wish I could have seen this short! :))))

  • Micky Rooney and Robert Blake Are two of the only golden age child actors alive today. Also are the police still looking for Bonny Lee Bakleys killer i heard there were a lot of possible suspects.

  • Yeah! I`ve got that, only it`s on tape. 2 or 3 of them. I got them for my daughter as well as myself. It`s still pretty funny at my age.

  • Robert Blake is one of the only living our gang members. many died young.

  • He was only five when he made this, He got WAY better as the series went on.

  • "Dad! Dad! Zis Boom Bah!"

  • No he didn't that was not Blake

  • As the show grew,so did Spanky. He looked liked Jackie Gleason near the end of the run !

  • I never saw the Honeymooners!

  • Why do people call Mickey an obnoxious whiny brat? That is so politically incorrect!

  • Are you nuts?

The Roach-era shorts are far, far superior to the crap MGM cranked out. And Blake sucked as a kid actor. He sucked hard. Bobby Driscoll was one of the greatest child actors of all time. How dare you compare him to the likes of Mickey Gubitosi!

  • Actually, some persons began calling the films "The Little Rascals" based on the TV packaging title. At least you stated correctly they were originally called "Our Gang."

There was also a 1960's pop group, Spanky & Our Gang, whose style resembled that of the folk-rock quartet of The Mamas & The Papas, having hits such as "Sunday Will Never Be The Same" & "Lazy Days."

  • In fact, the lead singer of the group was named Elaine "Spanky" McFarlane, who, after her "Gang" broke up, toured with a new line-up of "The Mamas & The Papas" (also featuring Papa John Phillips' daughter, actress MacKenzie Phillips), in the '80's, McFarlane singing Cass Elliot's old parts.

  • But as with the Stooges' shorts, when TV became a popular presence in the average American home in the late 1940's/early '50's, packages of old theatrical shorts (such as those of Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Laurel & Hardy, etc.) were aired on local & network TV affiliate stations.

As such, the "Our Gang" shorts were packaged as "The Little Rascals," often aired on local kiddie personality shows along with cartoons, reruns of "Lassie," etc.

  • Actually, CHRISSLOAN, "Our Gang" was not a "TV show," but film shorts originally shown in movie theaters, as were "The Three Stooges" shorts and others, back in the day when one could watch a main feature and cartoons/shorts for the price of one theater admission.

  • @gymnastix

I think that "Hal Roach" owned The Little Rascals... and MGM bought them and re-named them "Our Gang".

I could be wrong... but, I don't think so.

  • If you listen closely he's saying: "I left my gun in the restaurant"..."and when I went back for it, someone shot my girl in the head". OH THAT ROBERT, fine actor, man he's good!

  • @Doggchop ahahaha - too f@ckin' funny!!

  • "I got no dad. You know. Now I guess I gotta let me out."
