the avarage topspeed of the 200D is 160km/h it mostly depends how straight the road is that your driving on :)

183, on straight road (netherlands is straight). in germany we cant go faster because when we are on top of the hill, whe lose so much speed that in the end we dont go faster then 183 kph. But we newer drive more then 5 seconds that fast. we mostly go 150 to 170 kph without problems. (it drives better at 165/170 than on 150 kph...less vibrations) I hope to see more 200d people who can drive so fast, because i cant believe I am the only one

mine can go 185. I couldn t believe it when I saw in the books that he can go only 160.

But the acceleration of the mine till 100 kph is the same (dramatic). I can tell you, on 170-180 kph it goes smoother and better than with 150 kph

Właśnie po zegarach widać, że to diesel. Poieważ obrotomież nie ma czerwonego pola. Aha i jeszcze spójż na kontrolke na dole po prawej stronie - kontrolka, którą mają tylko diesle. A po za tym jaki Mercedes W124 w benzynie ma prędkościomierz wyskalowany do 180...

Yes, it is a 200D with a 4-Gear manual Transmission. The rev counter was optional in 1985, I retrofitted it a few years ago as you can see on my website tobulus[dot]de

When an old Diesel reaches a much higher top speed without any changes on the engine, it usually begins to lose compression. But that ist fairly quite unusual for the OM60X
